    I ended up waiting and buying an EVGA 1070 SC. Thanks for the tips! It was definitely worth the wait.

    I currently have an AMD Radeon 7950 GPU. It is the only bottleneck in my system and I need a new GPU for Doom coming out May 13th as well as VR support for the future when I can get my hands on a Vive. I want a NVIDIA GPU for my next card and I am wondering what you guys think would suit me best for this game as well as VR carrying out into the future. The GTX 970 or the 980Ti? I'm still not sure if I want to spend twice as much money to get a little extra performance. I am currently gaming at 1080p but I would like to run Doom at max settings.

    I graduate college this December so I plan on rebuilding my desktop for VR soon after that. I'll probably buy a nice 4K monitor before buying a VR headset. But my Alienware currently outperforms my desktop so I have the benchmark below: Capable:Alienware 17 R3 CPU: i7-6700HQ GPU: GTX 970M RAM: 8GB DDR4 (2x4GB)
