  1. Hi! Recently I've been getting frequent "memory_management" BSODs while gaming. I ran the built in Windows memory checker and it almost instantly said that hardware problems has been found. This sounds to me like a memory issue. I tried resetting my CPU OC to stock but OCCT still prompted a BSOD. Before I go try to RMA my memory, I'd just like the confirm this is a memory issue. Thanks!
  2. You should play while plugged in and on high performance. That'll ensure you're getting the best performance. Your battery will be fine as long as it's not plugged in 24/7.
  3. It could be a CPU error. I have a pretty high OC so maybe I need to stress test it again. Thanks for the advice!
  4. Sounds like thermal throttling to me. What are the temps like when you're gaming? Does it instantly drop or does it spike up to boost clock then drop soon after?
  5. You're definitely ok. Worst case scenario you have to manually type in 3000 mhz for the memory clock in bios. Remember that the default speed is 2133 so if you want to run at higher speeds you have to set it in bios.
  6. That just means that the board probably doesn't have a default profile for 3000mhz. That means that you can run the RAM at 2933 or manually set it to 3000 without a problem.
  7. The mobo you linked supports DDR4 @3200mhz and 2933 so you'll be fine.
  8. No, it was just MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, not video memory.
  9. I don't think I've downloaded anything recently besides updates to games. I'll try chkdsk though.
  10. I'll try replugging in some mobo cables and turning off the overclock to see if that works. Thanks for the help!
  11. Hi, I was playing Battlefield 1 when I suddenly got a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD. I ran the windows memory diagnostic tool and sure enough it reports that there's a hardware problem. Trying to join a game in Battlefield 1 consistently landed me with either a game crash or a BSOD. I reseated my RAM, 2 sticks of 8gb Corsair Vengeance LPX running at the advertised 3000 mhz, ran the tool again, and it still said there's an issue. My build is 2 years old and I've gotten MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSODs in the past (like a year ago) but this is the first time I've run memory diagnostic and gotten a hardware error message. Is this definitely a RAM problem? If so, what do I need to do to fix it? I'm still under warranty so I can get replacements, but if I can avoid it that's preferable. Thanks in advance and don't hesitate to ask for more information!
  12. What FPS are you running at? Is it a stable 144 FPS? If it is, try capping the framerate at a little over 144 FPS so that your GPU doesn't have to work to push out frames you don't need.
  13. Hi! I have a friend who needs a new laptop for school. His budget is 600-800 USD and it will be used mainly for school (notes, web browsing, etc., and maybe light video editing and gaming). He doesn't care about brand or OS. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!
  14. I might have one in a moving box in the basement somewhere. Assuming I do have a receiver what would you recommend?
  15. Hi, I'm looking for recommendations for a surround sound (5.1/7.1) speaker setup that I can fit in a roughly 11ft. by 11 ft. (3.3 by 3.3 meters) space. Volume isn't a huge priority due to the size of the space so sound quality should take priority. Neutral-ish sound preferred, a little bit of extra bass is ok. Budget is preferably under $300 USD, but flexible. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
  16. Thanks for your input, I'll probably end up making my selection based on the games. I've tried the oculus controllers before but never the vive. I'm getting this to share with my family so I'll ask them what types of games they like.
  17. Which is better? I'm mostly concerned about game selection, picture quality, controllers, and comfort. If you own one of these systems I'd love to hear your personal review but even if you don't I'd still like to hear your opinion.
  18. You installed a 32 bit version of Windows, but your hardware is capable of running either a 32 bit or 64 bit OS. Back up your data and reinstall a 64 bit version of windows.
  19. Thanks for all the replies, I'll take a look at your suggestions.
  20. Hi! I need a new mouse for an upcoming build but I haven't been playing attention to the peripherals scene for the past few years. If you guys have any recommendations I'd greatly appreciate them. Requirements: - At least 2 buttons on the side (preferably more but 2 is ok) - Large enough that I can rest my hand on it and not have to do a claw grip (my hands aren't that large so almost any size will work) - Adjustable DPI, liftoff distance, etc. - Black in color Optional: - Customisable RGB lighting is nice but not a must have Thanks in advance!
  21. If I save a bit on the memory and storage would you recommend the H100i over a good air cooling solution?
  22. HDD is a spare one from an old build. I'll look into RAM but they all seem very similarly priced.
