  1. Hello, my HP x360 envy 13 (ag0006nl) was working perfectly, a few weeks ago it started lagging when using any browser or playing games, but only when it´s plugged in. I noticed in resource monitor that when it´s unplugged, the CPU max frequency is at 80%-120%, but when i plug it in it goes to around 20%. Temps are at about 45C when charging. Everything is at max performance, and max processor state in advanced power settings is at 100% both when plugged and unplugged. Any idea what might fix it? thx
  2. Is there any consumer GPU that gets to 4k 60fps on max settings? either way, I'm not going to spend 1000+ USD on a new GPU for like 5-10fps, so I'm going to keep my PC as it is for a while. Thanks!
  3. Hey, my PC has a 4690k and a 1080ti, I just use it for gaming in 4k aiming for 60fps, which i don´t get in many games (i get 60fps in witcher 3 with pretty much max settings, but 40fps in deus ex with max settings, for example), and I assume its because of a CPU bottleneck. I was thinking of upgrading my cpu to an 8700k or something similar, just to get as close as possible to 60fps in all games, but that would mean upgrading my motherboard and ram too. Do you think that would give me an improvement in performance that would make the expense worthwhile? or should i stick with my 4690k for a while?
  4. n event viewer I got some error messages at the time of the crash, but im not sure what to do 1st i got a critical that said "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." then a warning "The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\_??_USBSTOR#Disk&Ven_BandLuxe&Prod_MMC_Storage&Rev_1.10#7&2ebc7b21&0&356734040050928&0#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}." and an error "The CldFlt service failed to start due to the following error: The request is not supported."
  5. I thought the 650 would be enough, but i get that problem and when i contacted Cooler Master all they did was say my psu was too weak and give me a link to a more powerful psu. And Im not having any performance problems, im gaming at 4k ultra settings and in most games im around 60fps.
  6. Nope, I would have to buy it off the internet, there are barely any hardware stores in my town and they dont sell good PSUs.
  7. A while back I bought a 1080 ti, and my pc started turning off only when i played games. I thought it could be because of my psu or overheating, so I bought a CPU cooler and the problem stopped for some months. Now I started playing Shadow of War and this problem came back, but it happens almost everytime I open the world map (just happened once or twice when i wasnt in the map), so I thought Id buy a new psu; but im afraid that wont solve it (since it mostly happens in that exact situation) and ill waste like 300 bucks (the psu id need is pretty expensive where i live). 8. So I've ran DDU in safe mode and installed the latest Nvidia drivers, and it is a bit better, but I'm still getting really big lag spikes. I ran Cinebench R15 and got 541cb in cpu and 98,22fps in opengl. In firestrike I got 16.218, with 29.060 in graphics, 7.022 in physics and 6.902 in combined. Cpu Temps were generally at 65-70C and gpu ranged from 60 to 70C.
  9. Thx, Ill try upgrading to get the best performance posssible, but i still dont understand whether a bottleneck means that both the gpu and cpu will under perform, giving me lower performances than before; because if it wasnt like that, id get at least the same framerates i got before, not as low as they are now.
  10. Thanks. As soon as I get home Ill reinstall drivers with DDU, and run firestrike and cinebench.
  11. I did that exactly, maybe i did something wrong, ill try doing it again but im pretty sure i did it right the first time.
  12. I tried with the highest and lowest setttings possible at most games i have, at the highest settings i get really low fps. Would a 4790k increase my performance enough to remove the bottleneck? Ive heard that the 4690k and 4790k arent that different for gaming.
  13. I never use forums, didnt realise it was that long, i added a tldr
  14. Really? Ive seen a lot of people saying this cpu should be enough for pretty much any game at higher settings, but if it is that, why did it start happening now? I thought a bottleneck would result in my fps remaining the same, but why would it be even lower than my previous performance? Does a bottleneck lead to lower performance than what my both my gpu and cpu could do? And would buying a good AIO cooler and overclocking to ~4.4ghz solve it? Because id have to buy a new mobo and ram to upgrade to newer gen cpus, might as well build a new pc.
  15. Ive upgraded my gtx 970 to a 1080 ti some days ago, and since then ive noticed most games are actually performing worse than before. My cpu is an I5 4690K which ive never overclocked since i still use the stock cooler, but my temps arent bad, never been more than 75C, but according to the task manager, its generally at 100% usage in demanding games, I dont know if thats normal. I have 8gb of ddr3 1866mhz ram which also hit 100% usage often. The storage i use for games is a western digital 7200rpm 1tb hdd. The new gpus temps are really good, i havent hit 70C, the fans are working perfectly, and usage is generally at 50% but sometimes it goes higher. I havent been able to upgrade to a 4k monitor, i plan to do it in a couple of months, so im still gaming at 1080p, and with my 970, i was able to almost max out settings in most games and still get near 60fps, but now, with the same settings, im getting lower fps and frame drops pretty often, especially in my modded skyrim, in which i used to get 50-60fps, but now every time i turn the camera i drop to 20fps, sometimes it even freezes for a couple of seconds. Something similar happens in Just Cause 3 or Dishonored 2. Ive used ddu to remove my previous drivers and installed the new ones from nvidias page. Id really appreciate any ideas as to why this happens. TL;DR new 1080 ti, lower frame rates than when i had a 970. I deleted previous drivers and downloaded new ones.
