MontBlanco got a reaction from greentumaru in Schiit Stack 2 (Uber vs Regular)
Thanks for all the suggestions. I made my decision and got the Schiit Stack 2. All I can say is, it is very aesthetically pleasing.

Lmfao, that's jokes. But ya, dial that shit back.

DUDE, YOUR OVERCLOCK IS TOO MUCH. You can kill your card.
There is a core limit even if the temps are good

Remove your overclock, try the game at stock speeds, and then we can tell.

It'll be acoustically pleasing as well.

MontBlanco reacted to Cwazywazy in Friend's Alienware Artifacting
Yeah. The GPUs regularly overheat which develops cracks in the solder which then causes artifacts and failure. Baking it melts the solder so it can make the connection again which fixes it.

MontBlanco got a reaction from deadher0 in Upgrade from GTX690, what's my best bang for buck?
You can wait until the 390x comes out, or 2 290x are also a viable option. I upgraded my GPU from a 670 sli to a 980 and all I can say the performance is somewhat the same if not faster lol.

MontBlanco reacted to Ghost in Dual MCP35x vs Dual D5
It is important to note that this is because the D5 is watercooled. The DDC is air cooled. The DDC is better for more compact set-ups.

MontBlanco reacted to Shaqo_Wyn in Dual MCP35x vs Dual D5
Although the MCP35X is a powerful and compact pump, it does not run as cool and quiet as a D5. So a D5 is the better choice.
Also, you don't need two for the custom loop you've described. One will be more than enough, the second one would only be for redundancy.

MontBlanco reacted to Face2Face in GTX 980: Classified vs G1
Ouch; those prices... I wouldn't spend the extra money for 100 Mhz, unless you plan on doing some benching. Either way, the GTX 980 is not worth the money at this point, you're better off getting a 970 or 290 right now.

G1
you should be able to overclock it over 1600MHz anyway

MontBlanco got a reaction from Ericde95 in GTX 970 Not Impressing..
Since a GTX 760 = GTX 670 and 670 and 680 are 5% different in performance, a GTX 690 is 10% faster than a GTX 970 so you should see a double in performance and FPS for most games. Although your CPU looks like a bottlenecked mentioned by other members.

MontBlanco reacted to ViruZ_HUN in DDR3 starting to become obsolete?
the benefit for us and the problem for DDR4 that DDR4 only grew in amount of ram on server grade boards. the amount of ram on regular boards are still the same as DDR3, this is a problem for DDR4 because it cannot grow so fast in popularity. Remember DDR2 on mainstream boards. It could handle max of 8 GB if i am correct, while DDR3 instantly grew to 16 GB and 24 GB etc... hugh improvement back then.
Now the amountation improvement is nothing.

MontBlanco reacted to Spev in Watercooling anxiety of tubing popping off
Lol he probably just didn't install it correctly...

MontBlanco reacted to Fragsa1 in Watercooling anxiety of tubing popping off
I believe the general rule is say a week after installation, try to tighten them more. Then leave it from then on. I haven't really bothered to do this though.
A tube could pop off, this can happen if a tubing bend is too aggressive, the tube wasn't pushed completely onto the barb, and the compression fitting is loose.
Although It is VERY RARE! Effectively all 3 of these would be required to cause a failure like that, a perfect storm...

MontBlanco reacted to Enderman in Watercooling anxiety of tubing popping off
If you properly installed your tubing they will not pop off.

MontBlanco reacted to Lays in [Finished] The Renewal - 1080mm rad, 6700k, Z170 Asrock OC Formula, 980 Ti Matrix
Had a 900D previously with 780 SLI and a 3930k, hated how big it was tbh, that's why I have this now
I don't have either games so I'm not sure, but all the games I play run perfectly fine at max settings, like bf4/bf3, titanfall runs alright.
I should get a few of the newer AAA titles, I'm not really up-to-date with recent games as I mostly play LoL/bf4/cs go/ titanfall.

MontBlanco reacted to nj4ck in [Discussion] Whats the most economic price AMD would drop their 290 series to to even compete with the 900 series?
I'm just gonna go ahead and keep spamming this on every thread I see mentioning the words "R9 290(X)" and "power bill". The hole power consumption thing is mostly hype. The 290 consumes roughly 100W more than the 970, 100W = 0.1kW. Now lets say you use it at full load for 2 hours a day. Thats 2*31=62 hours a month. 62h*0.1kW = 6.2kWh/month of extra power the R9 290 consumes. Now lets say you live in the US, where the average price per kWh is $0.12 thats 6*0.12 =
$0.72
on your monthly power bill. Getting a 970 would save you 70 cents per month. You'd have to use it for decades to make up for the money you lost selling it and getting a new card.

MontBlanco got a reaction from Maxwit44 in help, watercooled gtx780 throttaling
It could be that you have switched the inlet and outlet of your Raystorm cpu block. The tube after the GPU should be in the port labelled "in". It might affect the whole loop creating more restriction hence the higher temp.
