  1. I'm using a old target keyboard that cost 5$ in 2003, key travel is rediculous.
  2. true, the amd, does have 4 physical cores, and in multithreaded applications it has an edge, but in single core or duo core applications where it doesn't use those 2 and 4 then it just lags behind. a lot of applications just don't properly utilize the extra cores. think my next laptop will be an i3 again, really like them since they are low heat decently fast things, i5s just tend to be so much more expensive also.
  3. it has an intake but its an indirect one from the other side of the laptop and its blocked by the motherboard about a 1mm gap being able to pull air. I guess I need to get some thermal paste from ye old newegg and replace what's on there.
  4. I probably need to, the laptop is 4-5 years old.
  5. I miss my old satellite pro i3-2350m I still don't know if I like my amd a8-6410 for editing yet, it runs games better..... but everything else just seems.... slower.
  6. yeah go to newegg you can find a matching motherboard with ease! or not never mind lol, they carry fans for 1156 not mother boards.
  7. Hey LTT forum goers, recently a Toshiba laptop L475 I think, has been running 60c at idle and 90c under load, it begins to throttle to sub 1mhz ranged and crawls around, I turned off turbo and even forced the cpu to 50% power, but to my surprise even at 1.5mhz it was still 87c, almost no difference. I took it apart cleaned out the dust and the only thing I can think of is the fact that the fan has no direct vent to pull cool air in, the fan blast hot air out like a dryer.
