  1. Yeh, I used to have two systems but with the cost of everything going up these days its been difficult trying to keep up with it all. Maybe later down the line I'll be able to get a second system.
  2. Interesting point, you do see many games like Tarkov, Apex, CoD etc. where interpretting high volumes of foliage / detail can actually cause the streams quality to degrade losing the overall quality of the stream and the games visuals. I know with AV1 in order to increase accuracy for representing shapes etc. its based off using variable block-sizes which in theory should provide better detail to objects within the stream showcasing a better representation of the stream compared to other options like H.264. I also remember them talking about AV1 having warped motion compensation which should in theory be able to provide a more accurate representation of motion in streams, given how active fps games are this should significantly improve stream quality for fast paced fps games or high motion visuals. Theres a lot to AV1 and its algorithms / techniques, but it should be interesting to see when it launches. I think if YouTube gets there before Twitch it will accelerate the development process for Twitch and adoption for other platforms. I know 120fps 2K has already been tested in the past and according to some people the quality was impressive (had good feedback overall).
  3. Budget (including currency): £850 Country: United Kingdom Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (3840X2160) Battlefield 2042 Call Of Duty MW 2 Hitman 3 Uncharted Total War: Warhammer 3 Satisfactory RE4 Hogwarts Legacy Apex Legends 3D Modeling / Rendering / Animation 3DS Max Maya Cinema 4D Blender ZBrush 3D Coat Houdini UE5 Unity Simulations Fluid simulations Data baking etc. Other details I'll be upgrading from a R9 3900X CPU A lot of the workstation work is freelance / contract based work Time optimisation is a must for my workflow I spend around 25 - 30 hours a week on 3D focused tasks I spend around 20+ hours a week playing games Will be using a X670E motherboard in the new upgrade Have upgraded my GPU from RTX 2080Ti to RTX 4090 I feel as though given the frequency speeds of the 7950X it would be the best peroformer overall, but will there be better BIOS updates down the line for the X3Ds perofrmance to be greater for my workstation tasks? I'm not too sure.
  4. $750 is steep for a 70 card, it will be interesting to see it go up against the 30 series lineup. What a mess this generation has been. Problem is for us in the UK/EU we get a premium charge on top of it making the situation worse. Lets hope the launch of this card lowers the 30 series cards by some margin so that it can become more affordable. Over here in the UK 30 series cards are way over prcied, even second hand as well. RTX 3090 is going for around £1,500 / $1,830 refurbished and £750 / $920 pre-owned (Hard to find brand new units these days majority of stock has gone) RTX 3080Ti is going for over £1,000 / $1,220 and £730 / $890 pre-owned RTX 3080 is going for £720 / $880 and £500 / $610 pre-owned RTX 3070 is going for £550 / $670 and £360 / $440 pre-owned All prices include VAT aka TAX When you're paying that much for a card as well, second is pretty risky imo I just hope the market gets better. The unfortunate thign is that its most likely gonna be Nvidia holding off until the stock for 30 series cards have pretty much gone then the launch of the 40 series lower tier cards be released to market.
  5. YouTube and OBS are working to develop support for AV1 and HEVC RTMP. This means that later down the line (fairly soon) livestreaming on YouTube will support H.264, H.265 and AV1 live ingest over RTMP. According to some documentations it is still in beta testing but progress seems to be getting closer to AV1 and HEVC livestreaming support. There also seems to be plans coming from YouTube to later support HDR livestreaming now that the implementation of AV1 and HEVC are in the works. AV1 has also been tested on NVENC as well as Intel encoders. Summary Progress for AV1 and HEVC for live ingest over RTMP is making fast progress with it going into Beta. Quotes My thoughts I think having RTMP support for AV1 and HEVC is gonna change the live streaming space for the better. Having better quality optimisation for lower bandwidth streaming is gonna make live streaming more accessible for people as well as for the viewers (countries which have poor internet infrastructure). However, I am curious with how sophisticated HEVC is compared to H.264 are the latency times gonna increase already on top of what we are currently experiencing now? Is AV1 gonna allow for much closer real time latency for higher resolutions like 4K60? Overall, I think its great to see new standards be implemented within the livestreaming space and with new hardware like the RTX 4000 series it will be interesting to see how their dual AV1 chips as well as on Intel come into play. 6. I think Manscaped should be pulled from sponsorships. They provide overpriced mediocre products in which they use black hat shady tactics to put people in hidden subscriptions. In order to cancel subscriptions you have to go through multiple hurdles which are trying to keep you in the subscription or buy additional products. Have had multiple friends with endless problems from no order being received / sent out to hidden subscriptions and non existent customer support plus after they've cancelled their subscriptions they have still gone on to take their money. Have seen their online reviews via trustpilot with 1 star reviews reperesenting over 24% (https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/manscaped.com) with endless problems one after the other. Here are some reviews to further backup my point:
  7. According to multiple news outlets around 15 screenshot images have been leaked on social media which were taken by a Roomba robotic vaccum cleaner. The screenshots in question have been acquired from owners in France, Germany, Spain, US and Japan. The main concern is that within the screenshots appeared to be a woman on the toilet in which these screenshots have been leaked on private Facebook and Discord groups. The main cause of the leak was due to gig workers in Venezuela in which were tasked to label audio, photo and video data in order to train the companys AI for iRobots Roomba vaccums. iRbot has stated that the units were for testing and development purposes only in which were given to staff which agree to share their data. The main concern is that iRobot has offloaded this data to cheaper low-cost contract workers which are more relaxed when it comes to legalities and security. Summary Leaked screenshots of Roomba testers have appeaered on private social media groups from cheap low-cost contract workers. Quotes My thoughts After seeing the whole scandal of Eufy and their security issues it has really come to a point for people to open their eyes and actually look behind the machines and how these big tech corporations are handling your data. I know these were test devices, but the fact that iRobot has offloaded this sensitive data to less secure contract workers really shows you the lack of care and due diligence companies have with your data. It's about time that Governments wake up and actually realise the dangers these companies pose in which should be taken accountable for their actions. 8. It's like what happened over here in the UK with broadcasting network Sky TV. Apparently they trademarked the word 'sky' to which a lawsuit was created against Hello Games as their video game No Man's Sky used the word 'sky' within it and the lawsuit lasted around 3 years. The lawsuit was based around how their game having the word 'sky' in it misrepresented the video games and created unofficial association to the Sky Group. No Man's Sky settles name dispute - BBC
  9. It seems as though Facebooks new logo for their new brand Meta is pretty much an identical copy of a German development app business called M-sense Migräne by Newsenselab. Both logos are extremely identical to one another which could lead to a potential lawsuit. Quotes My thoughts I think this is extremely funny as they pretty much look 99% identical. I'm just curious as to how the lawsuit would go down if they wanted to take Meta to court, should be quite interesting. Also the fact is Facebook most probably has invested a lot into their rebrand and if they lose a potential lawsuit it could be more problems in the can for them. 10. I've recently just bought the Corsair 5000x case for my main PC and seem to be having issues with the whole commander core. I think the commander core is defective but I'm not 100% sure. I bought the iCUE H150i Elite Capellix and have installed it along with the commander core that it comes with rather than use the RGB core from the case cause of the pump connection. I've got the three front fan cases hooked up to the PWM fan repeater as well as the commander core for the RGB and they do light up red. I have the three RGB fans on the radiator hooked up to the commander core for fan control as well as RGB control (however they don't light up) and have the AIO connected to the commander core too. When it comes to the AIO the pump lights up and I can hear the pump going but the fans just don't light up and the AIO along with the commander core are not showing up in iCUE. I've switched the USB port on the motherboard and still same issue, I know that both USB ports work as they work with my corsair PSU. I've also reinstalled iCUE to the latest version but it makes no difference. I've never really come across this prolbem and i find it quite unusual. Any methods to try and resolve this or any info would be greatly aprreicated. Also I am in contact with Corsair I've just posted on here just in case I've missed something that you guys suggest in which I can sort out quicker than their response. Summary: AIO and Commander core not showing in iCUE All three fans on AIO do not light up but do spin and front three fans light up Overall not sure if the commander core is the issue or the actual AIO
  11. Apparently Netflix is expanding its company and is pushing beyond Films and TV to the gaming industry. The plan is that Netflix will offer games on its streaming platform and will appear alongside genres etc. which means that it could potnetially be cloud based I'm not too sure. Apparently they have hired Mike Verdu from EA to take charge of their gaming division. Summary Netflix is branching out to the gaming industry and incorporating it within their streaming platform. Quotes My thoughts I think this could be a step furthur to the gaming industry adapting strategies for the market and it will be interesting to see how its implimented and what type of games they will try to develop. Its also interesting to see if Netflix will incorporate any of their TV shows or movies into the mix along with their licenses to develop games around them. 12. Apparently people who have been scalping consoles online through sites like Ebay are apparently being robbed in Toronto, Canada and are recommended to sell their consoles face to face with the buyer and keep in close communication with somebody the know in case anything goes wrong. Quotes My thoughts I personally think this is hilariouse and I'm surprised its in Canada of all places. But hey maybe this might stop a few people from trying to scalp but atleast it shows you how passionate the community. Sources Gaming Bible Article 1 The Gamer Article 2 Toronto Police Tweet
  13. Been trying to get my XMP working since its been perfectly fine for over 12 months now but for some reason when I enable it now I get errors in my OCCT test and Memory test unless I put it back to stock 2133Mhz. I've cleared CMOS, installed the latest BIOS, manually increased the voltage alittle bit from 1.35v to 1.38v but nothing seems to be working. I've been trying to prevent it coming down to manually inputtiing all the timings but was wondering if anybody else has a solution or have an idea of what could be causing this? Memory: 4x8GB Patriot Viper Steel Series 3733Mhz (PVS416G373C7K) Hynix CJR Modules CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X OC 4.2GHz PSU: Corsair Platinum HX850i Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus X570 Elite
  14. I used HWmonitor and according to that the pump is working and has a responsive rpm when underload as well as the fan RPM. When I boot there is a slight humming from the system which as you said is most likely the pump. I'll try my wraith cooler and see if that makes any change. Thanks!
  15. Radiator is located at the top of the tower with 2 x 120mm fans exhasuting air out of the system. Thermal paste had been on there for like a year I've replaced it and still getting the same problem, then I changed to a different thermal paste and still getting the same problem. The AIO has a 5 year warranty so I'm not sure if I should just RMA it?
