  1. PCCG are awesome. their shipping can be shitty when ordering one small thing. like 13 bucks shipping for a $8 zalman clip on mic. but otherwise they are tops. i have had like 5 or 6 warranty claims thru them and they always go above and beyond to get it done fast and trouble free. and the bubble wrap, oh the bubble wrap!!
  2. had no idea they did that with their business laptops. all the ones ive seen die are consumer grade i spose and an alienware lol. if their business stuff is warranted the same way the monitors are, then i will retract my statement with regard to their business line. still stand firm on consumer grade stuff tho
  3. i wouldnt buy a dell pc or laptop (seen too many die), but i'll most likeley never buy anything but a dell monitor again. on my 5th dell monitor (3x u2312hm, 1x p2312h, 1x u2713hm) and really happy with everyone of them. great stands, build quality, warranty and picture. worth the few extra dollars imo. my personal experiecnce, hope it was of some help
  4. just a little.... seems like u get alot for ur money tho. cant remember linus having done a vid on networking, be something i reckon a fair few ppl (including myself) could learn from. balls... turns out what i need is a modem router. back to the drawing board.
  5. ermagerd so many acronyms lol. think i may take a bit more time to read up on these things uve mentioned before deciding on what to get. didnt even know ppl where making 3rd party firmwares for routers. found alot of comments below the article on DD-wrt that said the same thing. some nice bricking tales too.
  6. just read up on DD-wrt. nice call, that functionality is definitly something i'd like to have cheers again
  7. thx very much for the info. will take ur views on asus into consideration when making the decision.
  8. why not asus: had two faulty mobos and a dead dvd drive from them. 3 strikes. unpopular view i know, but i take things like that rather personally. ftp and samba dont ring any bells so i guess they are not important to me. unless ofc u think it is. range: plenty off walls, split level 2 bedroom unit (brick walls n suspended slab). thx again
  9. need to replace the isp issued router. i know little about networking and what makes a good router. plz advise on a good router for use under the following guidelines -budget prefer not to go over $100, will if have to tho -main use is for home server, htpc and gaming -will not buy asus -wireless AC is not required -easy to use( like port forwarding and such ) -prefer to purchase from MSY or PC case gear in Australia if possible was looking at the n600 and n750 from tp link site links: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=200_1438&zenid=de6704e6e66dc628c3d3fa741ce7196b : http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf thx very much for your time
  10. +1 very happy with my u2713hm
  11. 2x ocz fatality 750w silverstone gold evolution 850w xfx 850w corsair cx-430
  12. http://accessories.ap.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=au&cs=audhs1&l=en&s=dhs&sku=210-40773&redirect=1 mad expensive at the moment. but there are regular sales, from observation id say just about every 2 months. last sale brought it down to 565 or close to.(about a month ago) there is also a dell ebay store http://myworld.ebay.com.au/dell_australia/&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2754 which u can also keep an eye on.
  13. save some extra cash, wait for the Dell u2713hm to go on sale. the premium panel warranty is worth its weight in gold imo. got mine for just shy of 550, not worth saving 150, when u get overseas warranty, possible headaches and a inferior product with the korean monitors stand, build quality, warranty, features and piece of mind are worth the extra cash.
  14. the graphics are real bad, even touched up. but i still rate this as one of the best games i ever played. got a bucket tonne of game time out of it. worth it imo
  15. undervolted "Aerocool sharks" make great case fans. easily be found for under $10 come with rubber mounting and low noise adapter too
  16. no hate intended. just its a massive awesome case for watercooling. screams for custom loop at that price point edit: looks sick btw
  17. alphacool do a bunch of kits under that price. seems a real waste to put a AIO in a 800d http://www.au.aquatuning.com/
  18. agreed. if other cases were an option, wouldnt have suggested either of them.
  19. Dell U2312hm is a gr8 all rounder in that price bracket when on sale. had 3 of em, love em. http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2312hm.htm
  20. sorry i forgot "space marine". loved that game to death, wish the multiplayer had more ppl. i feel that if they had not rushed release and did a bit more promo for it that game would have done really well. was a real nice, unique and balanced multiplayer game when it worked as intended. 3rd person like gears of war for those that never played it.
  21. once again cheers guys. forget the firefox thing i'll chase that issue with google
  22. on a side note, i changed to firefox as chrome was being a crashing cow. now this forum seems so slow. any ideas of a setting or something i may have overlooked to speed this hooker up?
