That is false information though. You do not need 2 CPUs in a dual socket motherboard. What happens when you use only one CPU is that often some of the PCIe slots won't work (as they are wired to CPU2) and half the RAM slots won't work.

Noise levels will be way better if you go with NH-U12DX i4. It's the best CPU cooler you can get if you want something that is quiet.

If you could grab something like a used i5 2500k and a P67/Z68 motherboard for cheap that would be a much better upgrade. I don't think that the A10-6300K is that big of an upgrade when it comes to single threaded performance.

Does somebody here that is recommending OP to upgrade the GPU actually play Arma? I get almost the same fps on1920x1080 and eyefinity. Arma is all about CPU. When my friend switched from a i3 to a i5 he basicly doubles his fps. If he had chosen to upgrade his GPU instead he wouldnt get a noticable fps increase.

What is the power usage of the entire rack? Can't be cheap to power that thing.

You don't need any special as long as you don't use ZFS (then you need ECC RAM and a motherboard that supports it). Just grab a cheap Intel Pentium processor that doesn't use a lot of power, a decent power supply with as many SATA power cables as possible, cheap motherboard with a lot of SATA port and like 2 GB RAM.

What you can do is remove one drive and put it into the PC and format it. Keep the other drive in the NAS and copy all files to your PC and hope that the drive doesn't die before you finish.

You can get some LSI RAID controllers pretty cheap from Ebay. Here is an example, the performance wont be the best you can get but probably more than good enough and it supports RAID 5 and 6. You also need a SFF-8087 to SATA cable. If you really do not want to loose files go for a RAID 1 (or 5/6 if u get more drives) config + backup. A drive can sudddenly fail and a RAID can get fucked up if you are having some bad luck.

I would probably go for raid 6, then 2 drives can die and you still don't loose data.

You are going to get higher read speeds which is going to make your games load a bit faster

Choosing the 850 Pro would be stupid. You are going to get a better overall performance by going for the MX100 as you are not going to need a slow harddrive combined with a SSD.

You could have saved so much money if you had that data backuped on another drive. Your first priority should be to buy 2 drives this time

Try dxtory with lagarith codec, it might help you a lot because the bitrate is much lower.

On the screenshot you sent you can see reserve new IP adress, just type in the mac address of the Plex server there and choose a IP.

Wrong. SATA 2 is 1,5 GB/s which is 250 MB/s.
