  1. Thanks! Can I ask, did you buy both kits at the same time?
  2. Hi! thanks for replying Going to workstation boards that have quad-channel. That is why I asked. Also, I don't get the "slowest" RAM, they are all rated the same, they just come from different batches and kits.
  3. Okay, I am on my way to upgrading to a workstation board (may it be the x99 platform or the newer skylake-x platform out next year) Problem is that, currently, I have 2x8gb kit in my system right now, but I do want to reuse the ram (to kinda save up on losses) as I will be selling my board and my CPU for cheap. Exact model number is Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2B3000C15. It is the Black one. Also, there are other colors, will matching my current set with one with a different color be possible with other colors, and or the same color (black)? I am guessing that the board should be all the same.
  4. Is it the same ones I'm planning to use? I've read that low profile fittings would only have 1 o-ring, and I can't see clearly on bitspower's website if how many o-rings the fittings have.
  5. Hi! I will be upgrading my soft tubing watercooling setup to a hard tubing setup and am choosing between ek hdc compression fittings https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-hdc-fitting-12mm-g1-4-nickel or bitspower enhance multilink fittings. http://www.bitspower.com/html/product/pro_show.php?products_id=3224 I plan on using 12mm OD EK PETG tubes. I like the design of the bitspower one, and have read that their quality is top-notch. It costs about 2 dollars more than the EK though, and I was thinking if its worth it. And also I am concerned about the bitspower being a low profile (looks like it) fitting. Which should I pick? I will be ordering my parts by tonight.
  6. Thank you for these tips! Will try to stretch the paracord to adapt it to my wires. Thanks again. I'll go for them ek HD adaptors.
  7. Watched some guides by Lustro0. Apparently it's doable, but I think my psu wires are a bit on the thin side. Will post results here
  8. Thought so. Would it be a problem, though?
  9. Thanks for your quick reply! For number 2, it's not technically PSU sleeving. It's your standard 550 paracord sleeving (I like the feel and the non-showthrough) nature of paracord. If I stretch it, would it adapt to the thickness of my wire?
  10. Hi! Will be changing from soft tubing to hard tubing, in the coming weeks/months and I want your opinions. Will be using PETG tubes by EK. (12mm OD) Got a pair of questions, 1. Are hard tubing adapters also enough for main bended tubing fittings? (adapters are usually used to connect SLI GPUs using crystal link cables) The ones I am eyeing is EKs black HD adapters, for their low profile but still 2 o-ring construction. (https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-hd-adapter-csq-10-12mm-black) I've seen varying posts about this and am now confused. 2. will paracord sleeving adapt to the thickness of the wire? Standard paracord is 4mm in size, but I can't find any proof that it would adapt to my wires (about 3mmOD) Guides that I watched used standard, but I am afraid of slacking in the sleeving.
  11. Looks nice! Thanks for the guide on removing those foam things. :)) I also modded my razer h440 for arduino controlled RGBs but am stuck at how to change the razer logos! PS. Did you calculate for the current on those LAN cable wires? I use the same ones but tripled the common wire because it would draw a lot of current when it is at a bright white!
  12. It's a non-unlocked processor, an intel i7 960. I don't think it can be down clocked, though if I remember correctly, it does support the intel speedstep feature.
  13. Hi all! I have been planning to build a JBOD NAS or file server for me and my dorm mates. It will mostly contain media files and we have this really old LGA 1366 based rig, but I am not sure I would want to fire that thing up 24/7. The alternative, though, is that I would buy a new CPU/MOBO, the AMD Kabini-based Sempron 3850, and an ASrock AM1B-ITX motherboard. I would likely be buying parts tonight, as I want the build to be here on friday. And if its something to consider, Electricity is not really expensive here, so my concern is more of a heat/safety issue on running an old machine 24/7. Also, I would start with one new 3TB HDD first, and add some more later on. Long story short, should I buy a new, cheap build and have a low power, cool system? Or reuse what I have now and save about 80usd on parts?
  14. Got the 25UM57 just last month. It's great, really.
  15. Just to update on this and finally cflose the thread, i got myself the 25um57, the cheapest of the bunch. I've read that it'd usually go up to 75Hz, and since I sit really close to my monitor, the small size isnt really a thing for me. Antway, thank yoiu so much for answering my questions!
  16. Thank you, but here in japan, those are a tad expensive. What I listed above is what I can afford.
  17. Thanks! How about the refresh rate of your LG?
  18. Hi! So I decided that its high time for me to buy an ultra wide monitor and I have set my eyes on these displays : LG 25um57-p (about 200usd here in Japan) LG 29um57-p (~300usd) LG 25um58-p (~250usd) LG 29um58-p (~350usd) All are 2560x1080 screens and I will be mostly gaming on my display. Question is, what model should I buy? I have found some reviews of the two, model tiers, but I can't find the differences. Also, I would like to know if 25 inches is enough, or should I go for the 29 inches? I will be coming from a 23inch display, 16:9. What's important to me is that the display would be overclockable to about 75Hz (I've read that it's doable on all these displays but I also read some posts that say otherwise, and its all too confusing. If it helps somewhat, my graphics card is a gtx 980Ti, so I should have no problem driving this thing. Thanks!
  19. Thanks for the suggestions. Ill be sure to look them up, though I saw the Filco one, and that's one cheap keyboard!
  20. Yes, it runs for about 20000 yen, about 200 usd.
  21. Unfortunately, that sells for about 300usd here. Coolermaster goes for about 200usd.
