  1. No idea what the name could be. I remember the website being mostly red. I'm still looking and will post if I find it. Just taking a shot in the dark asking around.
  2. I'm looking for the website I found a while ago that tells you the privacy specs for tech devices. Basically if the device recording audio, tracking your location, or if the company sales or shares your data. I know its vague, but its all I remember. Thanks.
  3. I'll give them a try. Thanks for the help!
  4. It was my understanding that they could also be using in areas that have restricted airflow. The front of my case only has vents around the side of the front panel itself. There are two ways to mount them. Inside the case like in the picture or inside the front panel. The upper slot I can mount inside, giving about 1 inch clearance between the fan and the face of the front panel. The lower slot has to be mounted outside due to the HDD cage (which I later discovered is removable and did) with less than 1/2 inch clearance between the fan and the face of the front panel. It was the lack of clearance that lead me to think of getting SP fans.
  5. That's correct. I was assuming that the poor airflow in the case was causing the issue with the GPU. I guess now that i'm trying to fix a problem that doesn't need to be fixed, but a lower MB temp would help me sleep at night. The other thing is that based on what I read, Noctua fans are the Bee's pajamas. I was disappointed to see no improvement when I installed them. Even after fixing the GPU.
  6. Evga 980ti sc+ Asus Z170-A Originally I had the case fan in the rear "A1225m12S" and NS-PCF1250 x2 in the front. Based on research I upgraded to AF-120 Quite in the rear, NF-F12 x2 in the front and NS-PCF1250 on the top middle. Case is Corsair 100r (glass)
  7. Those are MB temps. GPU while gaming was at 91c with the MB temp at 52c. I took someones suggestion to replaced the thermal paste. Now the GPU while gaming is about 77-80, but this caused the MB temp to go up to 55c.
  8. Thanks for the tip. They are running at about 1400 RPM I comparing the air flow to the stock case fan (A1225m12S) and this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-120mm-case-cooling-fan-black/3648006.p?id=1219092663721&skuId=3648006 I don't have any equipment for testing airflow, so I've been basing it on feel and using smoke from incense. Temps inside the case under load run about 52c-55c no matter what fan I have installed.
  9. The NF-f12s I have are silent, but do not move as much air as I would like when Installed in the front. Any suggestions on something a bit louder and more flow? I have my eye on the Corsair SP120.
  10. Looks like I may just have to try a few out and return the ones that don't work out for my setup. I like to lean on more air/noise than less air/noise. Problem is that I don't know how loud say 35 or 40dB is in my office compared the background noise.
  11. I have been doing way too much research on what fans to get. What I found is that most people on forums suggest some model of Noctua. When I look at reviews and test done, Noctua seem to be in the middle of the pack with at least 2-3 others that are quieter and perform better. I have two NF-F12 now and I am looking to see if there is anything better. If not, I have no problem keeping them. Anything to enlighten me would be helpful.
  12. This has greatly improved temps. Had just enough arctic 5 left over. Getting 76c with 75% fan speed compared to 91c at 100%. Temps inside the case are a bit hotter at 55c. Any suggestions on fans for this case?
  13. I'll try it, but the GPU is less then a year old. I'll let you know what happens in a bit.
  14. No higher than 75F/24c or lower. I normally have the fan or AC on. Also it sits on top of my desk, nothing blocking vents. No dust.
  15. Spec are: I7 6700k (not overclock yet) 16Gb EVGA 980Ti Corsair 100r case (with glass) Under load my EVGA 980Ti tops at 91c with ambient case temp at 52c. This is with the stock case fan and two cheap fans in the front. I decided to upgrade the fans and move thing around. I remove the HDD cage move storage the a empty 5.25 slot. So nothing is blocking the front fans. I picked up a Corsair AF120 for the rear, two NF-F12 for the front, and used one of the cheap fans at the top. Once everything is back together, temps are still just as high. The front grill of the case is pretty restricted and I don't "feel" much more air flow using the NF then the cheap fans. My next ideas are to use fans with more CFM in the front and rear or look into watercooling the card (which I kind of don't want). Any help would be great! Thanks!
