  1. Just in case it's relevant to anyone else, while looking at CPUs i noticed Intel are supposed to have some new ones coming first quarter 2021 so I'll wait and see what they are like I think this is the kind of thing I was hoping would be pointed out on here.
  2. Gamers Nexus have a good video up on explaining and making suggestions for Cyberpunk graphics settings, there is a separate one for DLSS.
  3. I have ordered 32G of Gskill 3600mhz RAM, i'll see if that makes much of a difference, if not I'm looking at the 3700x and an X570 MB as upgrades as the next step.
  4. Hi all, looking for some upgrade advice, I've not kept up with what's available on the market and where the value for money is at the moment, I'm in the UK for whatever difference that might make as far as parts availability goes. I don't have the kind of budget for super high end stuff, looking for performance per pound note for gaming rather than ultimate power, I don't do content creation or work on the PC although I have been known to stream VERY occasionally. I have started to notice to notice some stutters and hitches while gaming at 1440p, I have a 165hz monitor and pretty sure it's down to the CPU or maybe the slow RAM Right, I have a 6700K running at 4.4Ghz, 32G RAM (although it's pretty slow at 2132Mhz) on a Gigabyte Ultra Gaming Z170X MB, and I have a 2080ti FTW 3. Is there a better CPU that is worth the cost that will just be plug and play on my existing MB? Is it worth buying faster RAM to plug into the same board even if that means having less due to cost? What about the "new" (new to me anyway, last gen would probably be fine) AMD processors? Obviously I would need a MB change as well then which adds to the cost so there would need to be significant performance increases to justify that. Anyway, thanks for any help lads and lasses merry Christmas and a happy new year to one and all.
  5. You can buy cameras and fingerprint scanners to make it work on computers without those items built in so I see no reason its shouldn't work on any W10 PC. https://www.windowscentral.com/review-mouse-windows-hello The follow up question to that then, is how do I make W10 think that it's on a laptop? Logitech don't provide drivers for the Brio they say let W10 download and install drivers for the camera.
  6. I would like to get Windows Hello working on my desktop PC but I am struggling to find answers, thought you guys on here were probably the best people to ask!! I have a reasonably modern system that should be compatible with Windows Hello, it's a 6700k Z170x box running W10 Home (build 16299.309) and a Logitech Brio webcam which is compatible according to Logitech although they can provide no advice. The windows hello section of the sign in options just tells me that Windows hello isn't available on this device and that's it as far as it's concerned! I did get on to Microsoft technical support but the advisor wanted me to roll back to an early version of W10 and then disable updates which is not a method I am interested in, he seemed to think it has been disabled in a patch at some point. I'm not so sure it can have been disabled or there would be a lot of laptop owners complaining so, looking for suggestions? Can i foll my OS into thinking it's on a laptop and get Hello working that way? Is there a way to enable it that I don't know about? I've had no luck with Google so far so maybe one of you W10 geniuses knows how to get around whatever is disabling it. Cheers for any help.
  7. Yeah I can make a parts picker list or google my specs myself with no problems, was hoping for more personal recommendations from people who own the screens and can give actual feedback on quality, reliability, etc. thanks though
  8. Hi everyone, I am thinking that it's time to semi retire my old Prolite E2407HDS, I have been very happy with it especially given it's original cost and it still works perfectly but i now have far more graphics horsepower than i did when i bought that screen and it is not capable of taking advantage of my GPU so i will probably replace my second screen with it and would like a new, main screen. I'm a gamer mostly, I watch YouTube and the occasional movie but don't do content creation or watch anything in 4k so both 4k and super accurate colour reproduction are not essential. I have a Palit Gamerock GTX 1070 but I don't play "twitch shooters", World of Tanks is about the shooteriest thing I play other than that it's generally slower paced stuff, I do play elite Dangerous but i have an Oculus Rift i use with that about 50% of the time and I sit less than a meter from my monitor so i don't need a giant screen. So, I want, G-Sync 1440p or over 144Hz 24"+ screen size I would like, £600 or less cost probably no more than 30" screen although am undecided about ultra wides they are probably out of my price range anyway. Low refresh rate, although I don't play fast paces games I do notice if input lag is to high if I'm plugged into a TV for instance. I don't need but but don't care if the screen comes with them anyway, Speakers USB pass through hub super flashy mega adjustable light up stand etc etc Hope you guys can come up with some suggestions for screens I can look at, thanks for any suggestions or for pointing out anything important I may have missed.
  9. Currently have a G1 gaming 960GTX, I bought an early one though so with "only" 2g of VRAM it's not VR ready so I has a sad.
  10. Love the look of this, I've had an idea to use the side of a truck and a projector for mobile entertainment for a while now, maybe if i win this and we ever get any dry evenings here in the UK I can try it out!.
