  1. ok ■how come fan can't be mounted on other side in same push config? Was thinking of putting the heatsink southpaw; so fan isn't over ram, but that changes flow direction too. Edit; Sorry I dont know if I can double post different questions or edit my last post, but if someone reply before I edit they won't see edit. For some reason, the guy who built the computer, put the radiator on the top, with pull, hence so much dust easily settled being sucked in, and it seems he also put the rear case fan as Pull instead of push out of case. ■Not sure if it's correct, I may have to change it. And, something I realized from this situation. Task manager tells you cpu usage, but not cpu Temps. yet it tells you gpu Temps. If your aio fails while your computer is on, you may have low cpu usage, but your Temps may be skyrocketing. and until your pc BSOD from overheated cpu, or you reboot and bios warns you, cpu can be overheating with low cpu usage..... other than it'll underclock to deal with thermal. ■Kinda inconvenient you need 3rd party software to windows to have cpu temp monitoring. Luckily it seems the AIO failed before it could happen mid-session while on.
  2. sorry I am referring to 45mm ram clearance. as shown in dimension. 450 is typo, I am on mobile device. ■Can I have fan a bit higher, or place on other side? my case can fit around 180mm or 18cm, if I move fan up 1cm, that's just 167mm total height, up from 157mm. edit:: not that you need to know since I measured case height from mobo; nzxt phantom phan-001bk
  3. Dimensions say 45mm clearance for ram. My ram is a bit over 5cm, 5.25 cm. ???? I placed order for pickup, will it still work? can I situate fan a bit higher? or put 2nd fan on opposite side to ram? f3-2400c10d-16gtx. gskill trident 32gb 4x8gb [[I have full tower case and I should be able to have couple cm clearance for height.]
  4. Yes. ------ I took apart the aio for fun, and the liquid is dark brown. interestingly, it smells sweet like maple syrup. Shaking it a little, and it appears to be low on liquid too. What if pump works but just need liquid change? What if liquid discolored because it got *cooked* from pump not working and it stagnant? ■How long will it last, assuming I change liquid-- won't pump fail eventually in few years? ■Should I discard it, or give it to some tech hobbyist on kijiji for free? ▪︎Should I reuse the fans on them? Planning to get the ag620 today or tomorrow unless if it's really worth pursuing to refill [and with what liquid] and get new thermal paste instead. Assuming pump isn't dead too. Thanks everyone.
  5. yes corsair h100i v1 from 2012. do they start degrading while brand new on the shelf? back in 2015 as a broke teen, 4790k and stuff was my dream pc. Then I got it in 2020. lol. I'm quite happy with it, guy actually spent 3000$ after tax on components for someone else, buyer didn't buy, sells it 3 years later for $1100 to me, with it barely used. but now I can buy any system I want. There's always new tech and I think artificial intelligence and other stuff is going to keep up the technological pace
  6. I get fan error when AIO is connected to "cpu_fan" but no error on "cpu_opt", but the Temps keeps rising. Also, to put in liquid or drain and unclog, is quite a hassle. Many reccomend not to do it. I'll also need to buy new thermal paste anyway. And, if I spend like an hour doing it, as a newbie, and it turns out pump really is dead and not liquid issue, then it's a waste. Also I would have to buy liquid, unless distilled water works. My computer has only been used for 3 years moderately, say, 20-40 hours a week. However, before I got it, it was built 3-5 years prior, and the guy who made it just used it couple times and had it lying around. So maybe 6-8 years since it was first bought and ran. ok Anyway, I'm choosing between Deepcool AG620 for $50 on sale, or gigabyte Aorus ATC800 $60 on sale. the ag620 is 20$ off, but apparently the gigabyte is 50% off. not sure if the steep discount reflects the original msrp to be justified. only con I see with the gigabyte is its difficult to install without taking out whole motherboard, and it's large. Which one you guys suggest? I got a gtx 1080ti with this system but in a year or two I may upgrade. To think the 4790k was a beast a decade ago, but, it's still decent and holds up today for general use. Thanks.
  7. Hey SorryBella, Thank you for the clear response! I downloaded the digital manual for my AIO and understood the simplicity of how the wiring is connected. I heard no gurgle, it's hard to hear anything with the fans noise booting up. So I put my hand on the block, and felt no distinct vibration. And I put my hand on the radiator and felt it vibrating, but who's to say the fans on the radiator aren't causing the vibrations? [[When I boot up, the corsair logo on the block lights up white, but after 5-10sec turns red, and my motherboard beeps with the "no cpu fan" error. but not sure if it's red because of rgb effects. nonetheless the block is getting power for LED effects.]] So I got a random fan. My AIO was connected to "CPU_FAN", and a sata cable going to power supply. There's no "CPU_PUMP" on my motherboard, but there is a cpu_opt. I plugged random fan into "cpu_fan", and switched the AIO from cpu_fan to cpu_opt. Random fan works, when I turned on my pc, I didn't get the "no cpu fan!" error, it actually gave me a different error saying something about my "keyboard" for some odd reason for 2 seconds, but quickly went into windows. I don't know what it said about my keyboard because rebooting it, it didn't duplicate the error message. Nonetheless, in bios, I could still see my cpu Temps climbing past 70c. ■So power seems to be fine, unless you want me to test the sata power cable connected to my power supply. As for hose, hose feels like nothing after a minute, even while my cpu Temps rise high. So, diagnostics; power isnt an issue unless I should test sata cable too. ■Can't test for vibration and gurgle precisely as I feel neither. And hose doesn't warm up. so therefore unknown certain if dead pump or liquid issue.
  8. Mobo: ASUS Maximus vii hero AIO: corsair h100i cpu: core i7 4790k Hello, I got a customer built pc 3 years ago. Just today, when I booted up my pc, I got a "cpu fan error" and when I go into Bios, the cpu keeps climbing and climbing. So, I figured this is time to clean the dust inside the pc, as I haven't done so once in 3 years because I didnt want to tinker inside, and left it off later to figure out how to disassemble the case to reach the water cooler radiator... and plus I wasn't gaming, only doing work, so I figured dust on pc wouldn't be a huge issue. I just wiped the exterior grills of dust occasionally. So I deep cleaned the radiator. (pic included). fingers crossed, but, booting once again, and cpu fan error. in bios, Temps seemed to climb but stall at 88c, I figured ok maybe 88c is stable. I go into windows, and Notice my cpu has been underclocked to 1ghz or 0.8ghz automatically instead of base clock of 4ghz. and Temps stalled at 88c. when I reboot computer -- since cpu already hot, I am getting "cpu fan error!" and also "CPU Over temperature error!" apparently Google search says asus presents over temperature error only if Temps higher than 100c, so maybe even though it stalls at 88c monitoring, it could be getting higher and higher. ??? the Fans on the radiator are spinning. I don't want to fry my cpu so I quickly shut it down, except once when I went back into windows to save my files for 5 minutes while it stalled at 88c. google search says cpu fan error can occur if you connect nothing to "cpu fan" but I never got error in 3 years. They also say to clean your fans, check they're working;; otherwise people say to reapply thermal paste, or maybe your pump failed. so??? do I need to get new cooler entirely? is there any way to salvage, such as just try new thermal paste? Did the dust contribute to premature failure of the water cooler? nothing I can change about it now. Thanks, much appreciated. need to get this fixed soon for work. and yikes I know some people might recoil by amount of dust -- but honestly I ignored figuring out how to take off the top cover of the case, and it was hard to see the dust accumulate behind the black grills overlaying on it. Edit: ■ 1. if I need to get new cooler, what cooler should I buy. noctua? I may upgrade to a new pc in couple years but will hand down the pc to someone else in that case. so don't want to put something crappy or something overkill. ■ 2. if new cpu, how to install and connect to mobo? ■. 3. if just new thermal paste first, what brand? ■ 4. is cpu heating because cpu fan error? is it wired correctly? will plugging in aio into cpu fan input of mobo do anything?
  9. Past two days it didn't really happen, but today it did three times... Perhaps it could be a router issue? When it occurred I did the ping test. After troubleshooting, ping test was normal.
  10. Wirelessly. I believe it's most likely not a router problem, or a laptop hardware problem.... must be software/drivers related.
  11. Hi, I have an HP EliteBook 8570w, with Intel(R) Centrino(R) Ultimate-N 6300 AGN. With Windows 10 enterprise. Several times a day, my internet connection stops. Sometimes while surfing the web, or gaming. I use the "troubleshoot problems" option, and it always detects the same problem... gateway issue It has been happening everyday. Laptop is clean install, no viruses or such. Thank you
  12. I went with the Audio Technica's. Yup. Barely any soundstage. I can usually hear footsteps but hard to pinpoint. Still satisfied with them overall especially since I got a decent deal of $140 CAD.
  13. Need headphones for most music genres, some competitive gaming (CS:GO I'm supreme rank), and sometimes outside the home. Does the audio-technica really have that bad of soundstage that it's not good for gaming? If it's decent or barely gets the job done, then I'll be happy with it. I am in a dilemma between the Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro (not plus) used in great condition with valour earpads and the Audio Technica 50x brand new, both for $140 CAD. Which? Thank you
