  1. Hey guys, so my friend dropped his laptop and the hdd is corrupted. So, he bought a brand new ssd to replace it. The problem is, idk how to install a mac os on my pc that is meant for a macbook pro. Most of the things I can find is replacing it while the original hdd with a mac os in he first place, or it is meant to be installed for a pc. Does any one know a way to do this or know of any good tutorials? Thanks
  2. Steam Summer Sale... again! While it's nice to have all these sales, am I the only one that isn't planning on buying that many games? All I want is Theif and Demon Souls 2, as I have bought Democracy 3 and Cloudbuil so fart, but I doubt i'm the only one that has almost all the games they have ever wanted. What have you guys bought or are planning to buy? If neither i'd like to know the reason.
  3. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EOE0WKQ/ref=fp_dp_auto_play?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=gateway-center-column&pf_rd_r=0CA3S7XBKZ5HT8RT3591&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1827797502&pf_rd_i=507846 Not surprisingly Amazon has entered the cell phone market. It has some unique features, but not anything that I would care about. It seems to be focused on a consumer who knows nothing about the other phones out there, as some of the apps are rip off of something like Shazam. But it does seem like a competitive phone when it comes to price-performance. Article on Specs: http://bgr.com/2014/06/18/amazon-fire-phone-release-date-specs-announced/
  4. I enjoy everything else too much, it wasn't just the price of apple items but their content just doesn't interest me at all.
  5. Nvidia, Steelseries, and Iv'e always liked Alien ware logo even though I would never buy a pre built PC
  6. Heyyyyy I got those Sony speakers also they work like a charm
  7. I will start getting into 4k once they release monitors at 120hz or 144hz that aren't just TN panel at a reasonable price, even though I have been considering the 1440p 120hz g sync monitor from asus, I am happy with my 144hz asus monitor I have atm. Maybe in like 4 or 5 years I will get a 4k monitor.
  8. I like the chair thing I should have said something similar even though I somehow still enjoy my fold up chair haha
  9. I am so close to my final upgrades My almost essential last upgrades are 1. Corsair 700d case or possibly something like a 650d (I hate my phantom 410 tbh it is built so cheap) 2. The H105 Corsair CPU or possibly a noctua air cooler The rest are things in the future that aren't high priority at all Replace gtx 770 with 800 series GPU (probably 880) Get an ROG class motherboard Get a steelseries mouse to replace death adder to go along with my steelseries mousepad and headset Corsair Dominator Platinum Ram (2400 8x4gb = 32gb) <_< Everything else though i'm overly happy with, just got a new 144hz monitor, 2tb WD black drive, 128gb Samsung Evo SSD, Ducky white LED Keyboard Cherry MX Switch and windows 8.1
  10. well my friend, I bought a ducky shine 3 keyboard. Idk if it gets geekier than that.
  11. I just picked up a Duck Shine 3 and it is the coolest keyboard you can get in my opinion. Not just the fact that the lighting options are limitless, but you can pick up any colored LED, and you can pick any switch you want. I have a white LED keyboard, which is pretty rare in mechanical keyboards since the main options are red , blue and green. Take a look at the lighting: Where I bought mine: https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/search.php?man=1&in_stock=on I forgot, take it from the main man himself!
  12. Keep in mind I play competitive fps games, and I don't know if they look "rubbish" compared to ips monitors. I would notice more in a 144hz monitor then a switch to a ips monitor. And yes I know that's a bad comparison, but you get my point I hope.
  13. So I have been buying new parts for my already good computer, so I went with a 144hz asus 24' monitor. My god is it amazing, from the stand of the monitor to the amount of fps I can truly witness through this thing. Funny thing is, when I first started using 144hz, it was so strange, as my eyes literally my whole life has been locked at a 60fps experience. I went back to 60hz for a moment when gaming and it looks horrid now, there's no going back! It's like going from 60 fps to 30 fps, it felt way to slow with frame rate, and of course reaction time is worsened. Now I have witnessed 144hz and will stick with it, but I have always wanted to experience 1440p and 4k gaming which will be the nest step (yes I know the new asus 120hz 1440p monitor but it's way too expensive). What kind of monitor(s) do you guys have? Similar experience? Any one prefer the ips panels that are 60hz because of the color quality improvements (including not just 1080p but 1440p). I'm sure any one would agree who have 144hz or 1440p+ montiors it's hard to imagine without witnessing it yourself  (And no, I don't care if it goes off topic type away i'm bored)
  14. Keep in mind your post didn't ask for so many details. There's not much to it, if you play at 1080p get a 770, unless you have a 1440p monitor or a 4k monitor. Look up becnhmarks aswell, they will help you determine whether or not the extra fps at 1080p games is worth it. I have a 144hz monitor, so if I wanted to play all of my games at 144fps at 1080p I would get a 780, but I am stuck with a 770 which gets MOST new games up to 144fps almost maxed out, sacrificing maybe things just like 16x Anti Aliasing for something like 2x or 4x Anti Aliasing (144hz = you can see up to 144fps in games); if you had the 780 you would have a higher chance of getting more games up to 144fps. I'm assuming you have a 60hz monitor, so a 770 should get the job done  (I hope I am not too complicated, if you want me to elaborate just ask)
  15. Thank you for the detailed input, but this was short and simple post, I wasn't wanting to face the topic of the blue screening it was just a detail that would explain why it is my chance to upgrade to windows 8.1, as I know it's because of my hdd (which is also running out on space), and I was planning on upgrading my memory for a long time anyways. So if for some reason my new OS and new memory don't solve the problem, I still would have upgraded to things I was planning to get soon. But Thank you for giving me a very detailed post instead of saying "go for 8.1," I think you are the final person to make this a for sure purchase for me. If Windows 9 comes around the corner, I think I will wait anyways since new OS's aren't necessarily polished like how windows 8 is as of now.
  16. Alright, as you guys know windows 8 has been known to be garbage, but I think many of you heard about the improvements of 8.1 that make it an actually functional OS with few problems now. My computer keeps blue screening, and I have decided now is the chance to upgrade my memory option to a 120gb Samsung Evo SSD and a WD 2tb Black HDD. These two are on the way and this is my chance to upgrade to 8.1. Should I do it or stick to windows 7?
  17. you quoted the wrong squirrel buddy I have been coding aswell though not really my thing though tbh
  18. I Haven't experienced Hulu, but Netflix is not at 1080p due to Xfinity being morons and limiting how good quality it can be streamed. Amazon Primes quality is 10x better, due to Xfinity not limiting anything. That's not Netflix's fault though so I have no idea.
  19. I have an intel core i5 3570k with the stock cooler yet I have blue sleeved cables... I seize to amaze myself...
  20. Asus' Poseidon gtx 780, right when I want to buy one it is gone
  21. When I was younger I just gamed on my pc and handhelds, but I got a ps3 a year or two after release. Got a ps4 day one for some games I can't get on Pc, even though I don't use the ps4 very often
