WashMachine got a reaction from ddennis002 in PC not performing as good as it should?
I would first of all check the power plan in windows and make sure it's set to perfomance when playing games.
hen open task manager see if there are processes that are using a lot of memory/ or utulizing CPU.
Then use software to monitor the CPU and GPU under load to determine if the are utulized to their potential.
Make sure temps are in check that would prevent components from performing. Make sure storage devices HDD/SSD's are in good health again using software like crystal disk.
as mentioned by @ddennis002 Make sure all drivers are up to date( It\s a good idea to use DDU in your case)

You might want to try set default OS.
    Open msconfig.exe (using RUN)
    2. Go to 'boot' tab
3.Select the Windows Rollback option from the menu.
    4. Delete and reboot PC
    5. Report back

This system doesnt make much sense, whats your budget and uses? Ram should not cost more than your CPU

WashMachine reacted to genexis_x in What CPU/MB should I buy? Take 2
Ryzen 1600 or 1600X. Any B350 mobo will do its job fine. If possible, get faster RAM. (like 3000MHz, 3200MHz)

WashMachine reacted to Matu20 in What CPU/MB should I buy? Take 2
The R5-1600 non-X and a cheaper B350 mobo with preferably b-die high freq RAM.

Neither of those 2 The best CPU is the 1600 non X Because it's cheaper, it has a cooler and can run 1600X speeds no problem
    With B350 mobo

Correct Single GPU with mid range B350 mobo he can even get a 1080 or smth, About the memory selected people arround here are talking about issues with Ryzen this model gets killed. (Select ones from QVL to get your warranty in check.)

I would recommend a 1070, or gross out a little more for a 1080 instead of crossfire 480's.

Although crossfire 480's can technically yield more frames per second than a single 1070, multi-gpu setups have always been a little sketchy and you might be dissapointed when you find that not all games can take advantage of the two GPU's or utilize it poorly and performance is not as well as expected.

WashMachine reacted to NerdModeEngaged in Ryzen OC Results
Hi, I just thought it would be cool to create a thread of people listing their Ryzen overclocking results, submissions should list hardware compenents and overclocking results preferebly with CPU-Z validation as proof, my results are as follows:
    CPU: AMD RYZEN 5 1600X
    Clock Speed: 4.1Ghz
    Voltage: 1.4V
    Cooler: BeQuiet! Pure Rock
    OC Load Temp: 63°C
    Motherboard: ASUS Prime X370-PRO
    Validation: http://valid.x86.fr/gp30w7

Please note: I haven't tried pushing pass 4.1 yet as I have only had the system for one day, however there may still be more headroom as it only took 0.025V to go from 4Ghz to  4.1 however I do not want to exceed 1.4V for 24/7 Usage (I am also having extreme difficulty with RAM with one of my DIMMs being DOA)

    I'd personally go for Ryzen.
More cores at similar clockspeeds with hyperthreading is a win in my book.

I would go for hyper 212 and add SSD.
You still can get decent cooling/silence/overclocking on it.
And you didn't mention if it is a K processor. If its not that liquid cooler is pointless. Hope you are aware that only processors with K in the end are able to overclock. At this point is not bad to check out mid range ryzen platforms too you might cut the price more.

WashMachine got a reaction from SaintPosum in Choosing a CPU for my Build!!!
For pure gaming you need the clock speed of the i5 instead of the core count of i7. I5 will do better for gaming. And as much games implement api's like vulkan and DX12 systems will need less cpu power so don't worry about future of the i5

I think RX480 has the edge in performance. But idk how each of them overclock (would asume amd card runs hot as they do usually.) In any case i would go for more memory because despite people saying you dont need more than 2 or 3 gigs of vram. New cards alredy setting standards of about 8 to 12 gb. And that's for a reason
