  1. I cant find much info on this but for 1440p gaming and a gtx 1070, is there even any difference between the Ryzen 1600x and the i5 8400.
  2. Yeah, there is a LAN at work next weekend so I need it before that.. I live in Iceland and the price between a Ryzen compatible motherboard and a Coffee Lake is 17900kr vs 30900 kr. around $160 vs $280. I dont need a good motherboard so it seems like a waste to go with i5þ
  3. I was going to buy the i5 8400 processor until I saw that all the motherboards that are compatible with it cost around $100 more than the Ryzen motherboards. So can I use Skylake motherboards for the Coffee Lake processors, they both seem to be lga 1151 sockets so I dont see why not.
  4. I appreciate the detailed response, future proofness is something I really desire and will be going to AMD. Thank you so much.
  5. Well, I am going to buy the parts before next week..
  6. Hey, with great help from this community I have almost decided on a build for a new computer, it will have a gtx 1070, DDR4 RAM.. but I am struggling choosing a CPU. Linus seems to tell people not to go with Ryzen for gaming and his benchmarks support it, but on another thread I created earlier people tell me to go with Ryzen. Is is even that big of a difference? Like I mentioned this pc will only be used for gaming, I have a iMac for the work I do. Many thanks in advance for anyone who is willing to join the discussion! May be good to mention that I am locked to a 500W PSU and Ryzen seems to draw less wattage.
  7. hmm, seems the founder of this forum tells people to go with intel for gaming. Care to explain why you recommend Ryzen 1600 vs i5 7600k? As I mentioned, this system is going to exclusively for gaming, I use my iMac for my work.
  8. What a respone! Seems like AMD is doing great stuff with their Ryzen CPU's. I just got home and I have a Corsair CX500 PSU. http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cx500-80-plus-bronze-certified-power-supply-na-refurbished Does it seem it would handle this system?
  9. Thats great, do you think the stock AMD cooler is better than the Hyper TX3 Evo cooler?
  10. I have 1 more question. For RYZEN 1500X, 16GB of RAM and a GTX 1070, does a 600w PSU seem sufficient?
  11. Thank you so much for your great response, I know everything I need now!
  12. I think I will be playing PUBG alot if that helps.
