This is normal for ips panels. It is known as ips glow. Sometimes you can get lucky have a monitor with less ips glow.

Daniel1 got a reaction from its_dev in A solution relating to Gigabyte Aorus X570 motherboards with ram overclocking issues
If you have overclocked your ram using the XMP profile from a Gigabyte Aorus X570 motherboard and your system keeps shutting off/rebooting then these steps might help. These steps helped me.
How I fixed the problem. Before, I was on the latest Bios which was F30 which is from 09/15/2020. F30 description updates AMD AGESA ComboV2 1.0.8.1. I went into the BIOS and updated the BIOS to F22 which is from 08/20/2020. F22 improves memory compatibility. After, I went into the BIOS and enabled Extreme Memory Profile(X.M.P.) Profile 1. Then, I set the XMP High Frequency Support to level 1 because my ram goes to 3200 Mhz. I think level 1 supports 3200 Mhz. Level 2 supports 3400 Mhz. Level 3 supports 3600 Mhz. Then, I set the System Memory Multiplier to 32.00 because my ram is at 3200Mhz. After, I set the DRAM Voltage (CH A/B0) to 1.350V. XMP Profile 1 says that it enables the DRAM Voltage to 1.350V but it is better not to leave it at auto. I have heard that Gigabyte's Bios for X570 motherboards are kind of buggy when you leave Ram settings at auto. If you can't solve the overclocking issues with ram try other BIOS versions or get AMD certified ram. I had to switch Ram kits from 3600Mhz to 3200Mhz. I tried the steps for 3600Mhz ram kit and it did not work but the 3200Mhz ram kit worked. The Ram kits I tried were not certified for AMD. You can use a Ryzen DRAM calculator and manually enter the information into BIOS.

Daniel1 got a reaction from Drama Lama in Next Gen Consoles should have FOV Sliders
The problem is that increasing the FOV decreases the performance. If you increase the FOV when a game is locked at 30 fps, it is very possible the game is going to run even lower than 30 fps. For most console players, 30 fps is playable to them. Maybe they should allow you to increase FOV if you are playing games at 1080p or 1440p locked 60 fps. It would still be playable if the game is running at 50 fps but people will complain about performance. I cannot play games lower than 60 fps.

Daniel1 got a reaction from e22big in Should I get a 4k monitor?
I use a 4k monitor mostly for work and I scale it at 150%. I have not experienced that much problems with scaling in Windows.

Daniel1 got a reaction from BTGbullseye in Should I get a RTX 3070 for 1080p Gaming?
RTX 3070 is going to really good for 1080p and 1440p gaming. Look at benchmarks of the 2080ti. Nvidia claims that the RTX 3070 is going to be a little faster than the 2080ti.

Daniel1 got a reaction from jasonc_01 in NVIDIA, EVGA, Gigabyte, etc
I recommend EVGA for their customer service. Their new designs for the RTX 3070, RTX 3080, and RTX 3090 might not look as good because of the red line.

I like EVGA for their customer service. I have been buying their products since the gtx 760.

Daniel1 got a reaction from historicalpoultry in Monitor resolution for photo editing?
I would go for a 4k monitor. I have one. Not many problems for me but I did have to scale down the resolution because of the small text. If you want to future proof your setup then get a 4k monitor.

Honestly, I would go for the HD 58x or 6xx even though you might want closed back headphones.
