    JPotze reacted to Donniesito in How,does it work? RGB RAM modules
    Hey guys!

    Since its' introduction, I've wondered how exactly rgb ram modules work. How does the ram bus provide enough power? How do lighting effects (which have constantly fluctuating power requirements) work? How does this not affect the actual ram? And lastly, how does the programming of the module work?

    i was under thas impression that the ram bus used every one of those 'pins' -- obviously not.

    So! What do you think?  I'd find that show extremely interesting!

    well the best thing is with thumbnails is you don't see them in the video itself while watching. Though I don't like the new style, i kinda understand the point why they are doing it. SO as you don't have to see them 5mins long, just watch the vids and ignore the thumbnail if you don't like it.

    One important answer was not given to the audience: Why the hell were there hotdogs as a background on this thumbnail?

    back in the day i used symantec ghost. on startup in post i pressed a key ( i think f10 ) and then the image was pulled in via the network and i could image 100 computers in 1 hour. we did that every week for all the computers in the school.

    the psu has not that much that can break. a surge can break and you can replace that. But the copper coil that is usually in there could break the weld of the board if you dang it to hard. But you know for sure if you test it out.

    JPotze got a reaction from Squibbies18 in What should the download speed be of a 10Mbps line?
    a 10Mbps line needs to be around 10Mbps. 10Mbps devided by 8 is 1,25 MB per second.

    JPotze reacted to samcool55 in What should the download speed be of a 10Mbps line?
    8Mbps = 1MBps
    b = bit
    B = byte
    1 byte = 8 bits.

    So 4mbps = 0.5MB/s and 10mbps = 1.25MB/s

    unless it's a quad channel setup there would be no advantage,

    the processor will still only address 2 sticks at a time (dual channel) 64 bit bus per dim and only send the data at the set frequency.
    the second set of dims would share the bus and frequency with the first set, so there would be no room for a gain.
