The Coolermaster boards are good. At their price point you probably won't find another board with RGB and genuine Cherries.

They're good units but they are locked into the Corsair Link system for RGB control so it won't be able to sync with other RGB systems unless with some modifications.

They're decent fans not very amazing but alright, if your looking for silence there are some better options out there such as the NF-F12 fans and Gentle Typhoons.

First it depends if your needing 120mm or 140mm fans, but in terms of silence and performance the Noctua fans and others out there would be a better option if you don't need the RGB.

For 140mm options the Noctua NF-A14 and ones such as the Fractal Design Venturi's are both good options especially if your intake has filters or any type of restriction.

PW2's are a better value if you just want quieter fans.
Apaches are also good if you want a bit more performance instead: http://techworld.co.nz/akasa-apache-black-140mm-case-p-47068.html?osCsid=340d6f9170a64d2618c7a459d197d824
A single 120m rear exhaust and 140mm front intake should be enough already. If you're not moving to much drastically more power hungry components and don't mind the colors, I'd suggest a NF-S12A for the rear and a NF-A14 for the front.

I personally use an Xbox 360 controller with a wireless receiver. Game developers often include out of the box support for the Xbox 360 controller, so you don't have to install software in order for it to work.

Getting NZXT Sentry 3 is a better idea. Allows to control most of the fans by supplying certain amount of power. I have it and it works, except on the 1080 TI SC2 hybrid fan so I replaced it with Noctua Industrial 3000 PWM. It's just an alternative.

I seen reviews of these fans that their specifications are true (the Akasa Apache ones), so I'd get them.

If you don't care for the RGB crap then they are probably the best fan on the market. The 120mm version is quiet at 12v and pust the air far, the 140mm version is not as quiet as the 120mm version but is much stronger and when the voltage is lowered it will still pust loads of air without being noisy

The two versions make great radiator fans and case fans. They have a rebranded version from Rosewill called Hyperborea and they are the same fan but for much less and right now the 140mm is a steal on amazon.

    Hi all,

I'm in the process of selecting parts for my first build and I'm unsure about the case fans.
This is the parts I'm planning to buy : https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/XzWGpb

I would like to add 2 fans, ideally black, to the front of the case but I'm a bit lost in all the fans available. I'd also like to keep price and noise as low as possible.
I saw this Rosewill one which looks interesting, but I'd like your opinions on it: https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835200067

I will keep this review short and simple.  I don't use a fan controller (I just set it automatically by temperature), so I cannot comment on that aspect.
The 140mm version circulates large swaths of air without needing to spin very quickly. They are silent at low to medium loads and still very quiet at maximum load. Excellent in terms of packaging, aesthetics and build quality. No downsides in my experience. At $10-12 street price, it is at the perfect sweetspot.  Well above stock and generic fans in quality, but also a great product for those who don't want to spend $20 per fan.

papes got a reaction from Anghammarad in Will This Case Hande a solid 10 years With Upgrades Considered?
You need to consider if you will ever plan on going SLI, and if 3 mechanical drives and 2 solid state drives will fit your needs. @Anghammarad has a good point that you may want to spend a little more on build quality if it's going to be kicking around for a decade. Also, are you air cooling, will you want to water cool? I don't think that Corsair case will support much in the way of water cooling, but I don't have much experience in that area. It's difficult to plan for the future when it comes to technology as it is always moving forward, you can only hope that the current standards are continued so your case is compatible.

I enjoyed thinking about this topic, thanks.
