  1. @freeagent@Applefreak Swapped back to the Dark Base 500 and replaced the VRM and Chipset thermal pads. System not totally saturated for that duration, but seems more acceptable now?
  2. Have been doing some testing in a new case I got (Fractal Design Pop Silent) and noticed my Chipset temps are getting insanely hot. They've always been really bad, but this time it seems a bit much. What are the upper limits for an X570 chipset? After 2hrs of playing COD MW2, these are the temps I got with an aggressive fan profile. GPU (Gigabyte RX6800 Gaming OC) Core Max: 71c Hotspot Max: 81c Memory Junction: 84c SOC Max: 85c VDDC Max: 86c CPU (3900X at 4.1Ghz 1.2125v) Hottest Core: 71.4c CCD1 Limit: 74c CCD2 Limit: 72c X570 Chipset Chipset: 85c Chipset RPM Average: 7200RPM M.2 1 (Gigabyte Gen4) Temp Max: 63c M.2 2 (Kingston NV1) Temp Max: 67c In AIDA64, the entire PC overheats regardless of settings. I'm using a Deepcool AK620 so this is odd. I've also got a BeQuite Dark Base 500, but would prefer not to use it. Looking like I might have to though.
  3. I bought a Samsung 860 Evo 500GB for Windows, Adobe and FL Studio and for all my other files likes games, ill use the 2TB HDD Would that speed up render times, because right now my GPU and CPU don't even get used when rendering EDIT: The file was 2.7GB when it was completed and used lots of Red Giant plugins and yes tey are for "commercial stuff" This video took 37 Hours to render at 720p 30FPS and would have taken 82 Hours at 1080p 60FPS
  4. My HDD seems to be slowing down all of my render times and general performance of my computer. I wanted to buy a 2TB SSD but they are to expensive. So i could a Segate FireCuda 2TB for a good price, but i wasnt sure if they are fast or any good?
  5. LOL NO, did you even read the part of my post that spoke about their garbage auto refund system... Below i will highlight the rights that Valve violated when i asked for a refund Products must be of acceptable quality, that is: safe, lasting, with no faults look acceptable do all the things someone would normally expect them to do. Acceptable quality takes into account what would normally be expected for the type of product and cost. Products must also: match descriptions made by the salesperson, on packaging and labels, and in promotions or advertising match any demonstration model or sample you asked for be fit for the purpose the business told you it would be fit for and for any purpose that you made known to the business before purchasing come with full title and ownership not carry any hidden debts or extra charges come with undisturbed possession, so no one has a right to take the goods away or prevent you from using them meet any extra promises made about performance, condition and quality, such as life time guarantees and money back offers have spare parts and repair facilities available for a reasonable time after purchase unless you were told otherwise. Services must: be provided with acceptable care and skill or technical knowledge and taking all necessary steps to avoid loss and damage be fit for the purpose or give the results that you and the business had agreed to be delivered within a reasonable time when there is no agreed end date. Consumer guarantees on products and services also apply to: bundled products and services gifts with proof of purchase sale items online products and services bought from Australian businesses second-hand products from businesses, taking into account age and condition.
  6. When you say "they don't have to refund you at all", thats the point im trying to make, they cant just say because you have 3 hours, you dont get a refund now. They are breaking Australian Consumer Law by saying that
  7. I recently purchased Final Fantasy XV for my PC from steam. My meets the minimum requirements to run the game, however does not run properly, the game crashes and lags non stop even at minimum. I spent 6 Hours trying to fix the problem myself but couldn't find anything. I went through the refund process and it kept coming back rejected due to having had the game open more than two hours. I tried a few times for the refund and it always came back a day or so later with the exact same rejection. I had taken time to write out my issues and at one point I even wrote a section detailing why I believed I was entitled to a refund with reference to consumer law. I wrote complaints about the automated rejection. I only ever got the same response. I would have accepted a response declining it that responding to my request. Clearly no one was on the other end reading what I wrote. Or they didn't care. It became a bit of a joke after a few times and I kept applying to see if I'd ever get a response. You can discus the merits of my refund, but clearly their system was not examining anything beyond the play time. Multiple requests for a refund and not a single human response I am so sick of the breaches of Australian Consumer Law that steam is constantly making. Im glad there is the 2 hour automatic system but beyond that there is nothing at all that will get me a refund.
  8. I recently started doing more intense work on my PC in Adobe After Effects 2018, and my HDD seems to be going crazy. It jumps from 0% (0Mb/s) to 100% (112Mb/s) every few seconds and sounds very loud. Is it safe to use? Below is a screenshot of the stats on the HDD.
  9. So, i"m finishing off the list of parts for my new pc, thanks to all the people who have helped in my other posts <3 https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/g2wPnH And here is the build that inspired my build so that you can see the loop setup https://au.pcpartpicker.com/b/7snH99 Below is a list of the Water Cooling parts that i am using. I know that i may not have enough fittings but ill will order more if i have to Also here are my questions 1) Is XSPC a good manufacturer, i was going to buy their white rads but i thought that EK would be a safer bet? 2) How can i put 7 Corsair LL fans into 1 Node Pro? It can only support 6 from what i can see? 3) Does my mobo that is selected support two pumps and a node pro? 4) What suggestions would you make for the build?
  10. I'm still planing a water cooled build and im still stuck on reservoir choices. I keep seeing pcs with a D5 pump? What is a D5 pump and how do you attach it to a reservoir. I really don't want to have a standalone pump but i don't understand how the D5 attaches to a reservoir. Also do you have to use the D5 with specific reservoirs or can i put it with an EK RES X3?
  11. So i wanted to know where i could mount a res and pump in a InWin 909 or Corsair 570x and which res/pump should i use? Edit: In the picture below how is the res mounted to the pump?
  12. Just wanted to ask a quick question, where can i put a large EK Radiator in the InWin 909? of will i have to mount it on the back of a rad? Other that is there another case you would recommend for water cooling if the 909 is not suitable?
  13. I use my 480 for about 60Hrs a week and most of that time it ran at 80c so my thermal paste must have just been used at to high of a temp for a long time, i also bought it a few days after launch so its been well used.
  14. So about two hours ago i wiped off most of the thermal compound from my RX480 and swapped it for some Arctic Silver 5. Below is before and after the swap of Thermal Paste Stock Thermal Paste 0% Load 68c 100% Load 89c (Peak Went Higher Under Another Test) Arctic Silver 5 0% Load 35c 100% Load 59c (Fan Speed Went Up Automatically A Little, I Don't Know Why) Im amazed at how bad the stock thermal paste must be? when i pulled off the cooler it was no longer a paste and was all dried up and cracked. I had to void the warranty on the card but i think it was well worth it.
  15. Can i use the thermal paste i used on my CPU with my GPU?
  16. about two years ago and yes the fan is spinning. I use it about 50 hours per week since that date
  17. Ive had my RX480 since the day it launched so it has the reference cooler on it, it also has a small OC as its the XFX edition. Why when Task Manager says it is running at 0% usage does the card still sit at 80c??? My room is large and the heat area is not that hot so why does it run that hot while idle? Under 100% load the card runs at 82c so only 2 degree difference.
  18. After watching 2kiliksphillip's new video this morning as well as the segment on the Wan Show im sad about what is happening to the GPU market. AMD are clearly the inferior GPU manufacturer and don't call me a fanboy of Nvidia because i said that AMD are smaller, i own an RX480 and love it, but lets face it, Nvidia is scum. Setting up a program in which you aim to only allow manufactures to use your graphics cards and if you don't agree to their terms you get chucked at the of the barrel and get a low priority is just going to hurt the GPU market. Yes your business will do well at first but whats going to happen when AMD dies? There will be no competition! Basically imagine a world where a GTX1060 is $500 and a 1070 is $800, guess what... there is no competition to Nvidia so they can do anything they want. The only things i can see happening would be AMD continuing like they are, working to target the high end more or slowly dropping away to nothing, they will still have some control in the CPU market so i don't think they will disappear, just from the GPU market. Im kind of upset about all of this because i was going to buy a 1080ti or a 2080ti (if that comes out eventually) but im reconsidering again, like i did when the RX480 came out. Am i blowing this out of proportion or should i be worried??? EDIT: I read some comments a moment ago and this basically sums up what im trying to say "this sucks.. without amd as competition, graphics card progression competition will drop to.. apple levels.."
  19. even my 75Hz OC LG 25um58-p is a little hot at 100% brightness
  20. So i have a grey colour selected but adobe turns the layer white? Whats going on?
  21. @historicalpoultry@Jurrunio@dionkoffie Would something like this be good? https://www.newegg.com/global/au/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16824106004
