    I ended up doing the second suggestion. Didn't work. So then I just rolled back Windows to 1809 like @Saksham suggested and it's working again. Per your suggestion, I will wait until either Microsoft or Gigabyte release a fix. Additionally, one of Gigabyte's technical support staff confirmed that this was a known issue and insisted that it was a problem with Windows and not their motherboard BIOS.

    1. Yes. That was the first thing I checked. 2. A Seagate 480GB SSD. Not sure of the model name because I am not the original owner -- I took it out of an upgraded laptop I bought used from eBay. However, considering the fact that I'm currently on said computer, the hardware side of things is pretty much guaranteed to NOT be the problem. It's software related. Please note an edit that I made to my post: I hope this new information helps in some way.

    Hey y'all. A few hours ago I finished updating to 1903. Now, every time I start up my computer, the BIOS gives me an error message to the effect of "boot drive not detected, insert valid boot drive and restart." I have tried updating my BIOS, but the manufacturer, Gigabyte, has only updated their BIOS to support up to version 1809. Do you guys think that this is the cause of my boot drive issues? If so, I've attached a screenshot of the Control Panel Uninstall Update page. Which of these updates is the one I need to uninstall? The only way I've been able to get Windows to boot is by updating, then downgrading my BIOS. If I restart, I have to perform this process all over again. Additionally, if it is of any use, I've attached my specs in a screenshot below. Furthermore, I'm providing a link to the support page where the BIOS versions are listed.     Heya there folks, My stupid ass accidentally bought a stick of DDR4-ECC (4G, 2133 MHz) off of eBay instead of DDR4 non-ECC. I am unsure if the stick even works, but the fact that it was in its original package indicates to me that it most likely does. After updating my motherboard (or rather, my mother's, as I am building this for her), I stuck in my RAM, only to receive a boot loop to the face. The system turns on, the fans spin for a bit, and then it shuts off and does it all over again. It had done this prior to the BIOS update so I was not surprised. This mobo works with the stick of DDR4 that I had in my system that I stuck in to use as a testing stick. Now, the motherboard I'm looking at says that it will work with DDR4-ECC after the BIOS update that I did. And the Intel Pentium G4400 that I'm using also supports ECC memory. So why in god's name isn't it working??? Thanks for your responses, Echino

    Yes. Overwatch plays at a solid 75fps on 1080p Epic settings. Not Ultra, Epic. CS:GO is...unstable at times, but usually performs beautifully. So, after snooping around some more, taking your suggestion into mind, I found this thread on /r/AMD. Now, this probably should have occurred to me, but my stupid ass didn't think about the difference between Intel and AMD's CPUs -- while AMD crushes in multi-threaded, in single-threaded Intel is superior. Well, turns out, it was probably caused by two issues: A: "Ryzen + Windows power management don't work well together for Java. Make sure you enable "High Performance" mode at all times[.]" B (this is the main one): "Minecraft unmodded is unoptimized and only runs on one core. Try installing Optifine, it will get you much smoother and better gameplay." Now, on the 12nm Intel chips in the videos above, that isn't necessarily detrimental to performance. But when you're on a Ryzen chip and single-threaded performance is good, but not great, it can cause issues. Thanks, y'all. I'll keep you guys posted if the solution (installing Optifine) works.

    Ryzen 2200G. When I had my GTX 950 in here it ran silky smooth. But now it sucks. And considering that Minecraft is more CPU-bound than GPU-bound, it should be performing similarly. There's also this benchmark of a CPU I personally had that could easily shoot up to the 90s or above with my GTX 950, which the 2200G surpasses by about 15%, and here's what the benchmarker had to say about AMD GPUs and Minecraft: "I have installed optifine and tried to make a new Minecraft video. But unfortunatly I've come to a conclusion: AMD hardware runs very bad on Java games. Even with optifine, I got the same results." So what I would appreciate is if y'all could help me figure out whether or not I can run an NVIDIA GPU alongside my RX 480.

    TL;DR: AMD OpenGL sucks, any way to run an NVIDIA GPU in the same system and have that run my OpenGL games, with or without a second monitor? Hello everyone! I recently purchased an HP AMD OEM RX 480 off of eBay for $112. Sick deal, right? Well, I have a very specific few games that I play -- the list is slowly expanding, but right now my main games are CS:GO, Destiny 2, and...Minecraft. Yes, Minecraft. I play it with my two little siblings, who I hope will turn into true PC Gamers as the years go on. Anywho, I slotted in my RX 480, installed AMD's Radeon Software Version 18.9.2, launched Minecraft, anddddddd...was greeted by eye-grating unstable "75" fps. And by 75, I mean that it's not actually 75. I'm getting huge frametime spikes and framerate dips. Now, after searching around for a while I noticed that this was actually a known problem. AMD's GPUs are notoriously bad at running OpenGL games. So now I turn to you, oh great forum: can I run two GPUs in one system? I have an NVIDIA GT 720 sitting next to me, waiting to be used. Can I slot this into my machine, plug in a second monitor and run the game on that monitor? Or, is there another way to do that without having to buy a second monitor? Thank you all, Echino

    I built my sister a computer two years back using some old parts along with some new ones. It's running the sample version of Windows 10, 64-bit. System Specs: Intel Pentium G4400 120GB Sandisk Solid State Drive Gigabyte H110N Motherboard NVIDIA GeForce GT 720 (used, 4 years old) 8GB of Kingston HyperX DDR4 RAM 280W PSU (used, four years old) IDK about BIOS -- unfortunately, I can't update it even if they is an update, as the computer literally won't turn on. Background information: Did some routine dusting. cleaned out a bunch of dust. Prior to this, the PSU had been working flawlessly. For 4 years, actually. I took it out of a Lenovo desktop that I upgraded. What happens: I plug the cable into the PSU, sometimes there's a pop sound, I press the power button, and the computer starts up as usual for about 10 seconds. The CPU, PSU and case fans start spinning, and the lights on the motherboard light up. Then it shuts down for a few seconds and starts up again. Interestingly enough, if I pull out the cable when the lights inside the case go off, they stay off for a second...AND THEN TURN BACK ON FOR A SECOND!? Anywho, just wondering if y'all have any idea what the actual crap is going with my computer, and what I should do to fix it. I'm leaning towards a PSU replacement, but the almost too-perfect timing of the failure is making me a little apprehensive. Thanks in advance! Edit: I'd also like to mention that the issues began when I had to emergency shut down the system due to a cable being hit by the CPU Fan. I shut it down and then it started back up on its own. So I unplugged the system. I don't know if the CPU wire would have anything to do with it, as it was not damaged by the fan, as far as I can see.

    So yeah, basically what the title says, but there are two things I want to mention. I am aware that this question has been asked on many different post; the reason why I'm asking again is that... The NVIDIA Shield K1, pretty much the best tablet on the market, has been discontinued, so please do not suggest that as an purchasing option. TIA, yb4zombeez

    Firstly, a huge thanks to everyone who replied. Secondly: I ended up installing a fresh copy of Windows on the SSD, and like @KarsonC and @Daniel644 said, it automatically entered the product key. I formatted the old SSHD and used the NCIXTechTips video that Linus did to put the Desktop, Documents, Videos, Music, Downloads and Images folders onto the SSHD, along with the program_files folders. Something that I didn't expect, or rather didn't consider was that since the SSHD doesn't have to deal with all the data transfers concerning the OS, it loads games and files much faster than it did when it was the OS Drive. Once again, thank you all for your replies, and although I didn't use them, someday someone with this same problem will probably use them.

    I hope you still use this forum, 'cause I need a wee bit of help. If I have my Windows Key, can I install Windows on the SSD? Or do I have to repurchase Windows? Also, do I have to "deactivate" the copy of Windows on my old HDD to install it on my SSD? Thanks in advance! ??

    Well, for some reason, there was no signal to the monitor. But when I used CRD, I saw that "f*cky" resolution you're talking about. Do you have any idea why it wasn't outputting anything?

    It's a spare part; when I installed that "new GPU" I was talking about, it was an upgrade from the 720. So no, my computer wasn't "used" to the integrated graphics. Not at all. It's just that I had no drivers installed for the new GPU.

    I am building a computer. <--- (no shit amirite? ) I've done a custom modification to my prebuilt system before, but it almost didn't work. The reason it nearly failed was that there were no drivers installed for the new GPU I was installing, and it wasn't sending out any signal to the monitor. I'd like to ensure that my new computer won't have that problem. You see, the only way I was able to fix the problem was by using Chrome Remote Desktop to access my computer remotely and click the "install" button from there. But with this computer, I won't be able to install the program before needing to install the drivers. My question is: will the drivers work? Will there be a signal from the GPU I am using or will I encounter the same problem?     No, no, no. You misunderstand. Chrome Remote Desktop is an application which allows you to access and control your computer from another device. The reason I had to use it was that the drivers were not installed yet so the GPU was not outputting a signal to the monitor. The drivers were ready to be installed(from Geforce Experience, it's 100% first party, developed by Nvidia and available on their website), so I just clicked the notification that said "Drivers are ready to be installed!", and then it worked. Chrome Remote Desktop saved my ass.
