Case: "CPU cooler height limitation: 185mm"
    CPU cooler: "Overall dimensions without mounting material (L x W x H), (mm)    145.7 x 136 x 162.8"
    So yes, should fit.

My first own personal rig had a Core 2 Duo E4300, 2GB of RAM and a 9600GT(? maybe an 8600GT, though I do know for sure that my next GPU was an HD 4850).
I know I had a P5QL-PRO from ASUS, though I can't recall if that was the board I was using initially, and I also can't remember the rest of the parts, though these above are the most noteworthy ones anyway I guess.

BurstSMG reacted to jiyeon in Upgrading from FX to Ryzen?
It would eliminate bottlenecks for sure. Ryzen 5 1600X or, if you can afford it, Ryzen 7 1800X are appropriate choices for streaming.

My friend has a Ryzen 7 1700X and an R9 380 and streams look amazing, he plays PUBG and it runs super smooth on 1080p stream.

Yeah, Ryzen 5 is just as capable for streaming! It's also hella bang-for-buck. If I was after a Ryzen build, I too would select something like a Ryzen 5 1600X.

    That's scary stuff, man.
RMA the mobo and PSU if you still are on warranty, firstly the PSU, and if the RMAing doesn't work take it in to a repair shop (if they seem incompetent or aren't listening to you, just leave)

EDIT: As I probably should have said and Vengeance did too, also clear CMOS first by removing and inserting the CMOS battery.

BurstSMG reacted to TechyBen in The Great Motherboard Shuffle [Long question]
I did boot up my old AMD system into an Intel one for file recovery/data recovery in a similar fashion... to find out I'd uninstalled the software anyhow (was a game, and I could not remember if I purchased or just a demo, but as I never found it, I could not email support for the download link for a game I cannot remember if I even did buy it!  )...

So it works, but personally I'd not use it often like that.

Should be doable, boot into safe mode and remove any drivers related to the mobo, then get the new hardware set up and boot in and install drivers... I think that's all that it needs, can't say I have any personal experience though

You can keep your Windows 10 licence by going into settings, Update & Security, Activation, and then Add an Account. You can get a full tutorial I found here: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-re-activate-windows-10-after-hardware-change Good luck!

Cable holder. Stick it to the bottom of the desk, will hold the cable with enough slack, should be able to find them at the dollar store.
