  1. This needs to be called out. The YouTube Search Engine is not what it used to be, and they silently changed it to display only the most relevant search results, followed by a massive column of "recommended videos for you" styles of categories that are not related to your search. You cannot deep search YouTube anymore, not using its built-in search engine at least. This change limits the scope of the things you can find on YouTube to what the "algorithm" wants to show you. I think the ability to find what you need to find on the Internet is the whole point of the Internet, and restricting that is restricting my right to access to information.

A lot of what I mean is in this reddit thread.

I've observed similar things, but just put that on "Youtube bein Youtube" ... for me, the recommendations have been broken for years now, recommending me stuff that's barely related, or even completely unrelated to my viewing habits, and will often recommend me videos I've already watched (sometimes the next day), and even if I go through the "I'm not interested > Tell us why > I've watched it already", some of those will be recommended again and again. Similar thing with YT shorts, I watch shorts from time to time, and holy shit is it randomly throwing stuff at you, I get you're supposed to get a more randomized sample, but damn.

That's just user facing UI though, I think creators have it worse than that, with copyrights abuses, uneven applications of community strikes, arbitrary demonetizations, etc...

  2. Hey! So I got the RAM today and tested it. Issues in both motherboards. On the MSI, I set XMP (but left it at 3600) and then tried to install Windows again. Random restart before I even clicked Install. After that I have not been able to POST the MSI motherboard even after clearing CMOS multiple times (with the battery even because desperate times). At this point I'm strongly considering returning everything that can be returned and buying Intel. I'll keep the RAM though, doesn't hurt to have 32GB in there
  3. I ordered the kit. Here goes nothing. At this point I can rate my PC building experience with Ryzen an honest 0/10. It's lost me time and money
  4. I think I can order from newegg, so I'll try to get the G.Skill kit.
  5. Ohh ok that works for me. Oh man $200US for a RAM kit, I'll do it if I HAVE to but yeah Is this 3200 kit fine? It's the alternative I found https://www.amazon.com.mx/G-Skill-16GB-DDR4-3200-3200MHz-módulo/dp/B01HFR96OQ/r Edit: nevermind it's 16-18-18
  6. Ok let me look for that model, and if I can't get it I found this HyperX kit with Samsung B-Die (MSI's page lists it as Samsung 5WB) that's on the MSI motherboard's QVL: https://www.amazon.com.mx/gp/product/B07WJJJ27P/ do you see any issue with it?
  7. Hey! So I wanted to report back after some 8 hours of working on this. I got the new CPU and tested it on the motherboard. Still turned itself off. So I ruled out CPU and looked at my RAM being faulty, so I asked a friend for a good stick of DDR4 (It's a Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15) that he runs on a B450 motherboard. Still no dice. Then I switched back to my MSI motherboard to see if it was indeed the motherboard, but still got issues (actually on the MSI motherboard it restarts itself rather than turning itself off and just laying there). At this point I am looking at it possibly being the memory controller not liking EITHER memory kit, so I'm looking for a kit that works. Can I ask for your help finding any 16GB (or 32 if you don't find 16GB ones) kit that's on either motherboard's QVL on amazon.com.mx? I'll be trying myself. The other possible cause is two of my things being broken. Two motherboards, 2 CPUs or 2 power supplies (but my PSUs both work fine on my older build and one of them is a Seasonic GX from 2020, it's the one I use for the new computer). Anything else you'd check?
  8. Nope, just crashed on 2133-15-15-15-35. I'll be purchasing a new CPU and RMAing this one I guess.
  9. So far no shutdown! If the solution is to manually set timings then I'm gucci and I don't need a new CPU. EDIT: Hopefully I can get it stable above 2133MHz LOL otherwise I'll get pretty gimped performance
  10. If only I'd just ponied up the additional money for B-Die RAM LOL
  11. Ok so I was unable to find the SPD values in the Tool tab or the DRAM Timings menu. Here's a couple BIOS screenshots. For now I am booted in with 2133MHz 15-15-15-35 @1.2V and I'll let you know if I get crashes.
  12. Fair enough. Let's see if the new CPU does it. Let me go into the BIOS and try this out. Looks like SoC voltage is 1.094V. Not sure how to interpret that. I also found the error 41 in the Event Viewer
  13. How do I find out? So far I've got sudden shut down both with and without XMP. Do you think it's a good idea to try with another memory kit before buying a CPU? (I can get a replacement 5600X tomorrow with Amazon so I kinda just wanna buy a new one and I can spare the money at least for now, but I don't want to ALSO buy another memory kit). The memory kit's part number is BL2K8G32C16U4B. It's not on the QVL for this motherboard now that I checked.
  14. I was actually not running XMP and running the RAM at the stock 2666MHz with Default timings. Let's see if I can get more stability if I turn on XMP Edit: Nevermind it shut down seconds after posting xD What are the SPD timings? I couldn't find them on the memory timings area at a glance. Power Down Mode is disabled by default.
  15. So no errors while running Pridme95 but I can't keep the test running for very long because it'll just shut down. I've found it as likely to shut down while idle as under load and temps were extremely low for both CPU and Motherboard when I did the Prime95 test.
  16. Sorry I forgot to mention this, I did try one single stick in all slots. Let me run a CPU stress test and see if it turns up any errors.
  17. Ok so I'm back after an hour or so of memtest86. I had 2 random shutdowns, but no errors reported. There was no pattern to the random shutdowns, one was 7 minutes in and the other was 45 minutes in. I'll take your guys' advice and run it for longer it's ok. Shouldn't be related to the P5 drive, this also happens when I use my SATA Drive's Windows installation. I'm writing this from that drive with the P5 disconnected and put away.
  18. Let me fire that up. memtest86 still the preferable test?
  19. Hey Guys! It's a long time no see for a lot of you, hi! I'm actually here because I have reached the end of my patience with my new Ryzen 5600X/B550 motherboard combo. Let me be more specific. A month or so ago I got my CPU, motherboard and RAM upgrade. I've had a slew of issues that were frustrating but were eventually fixed, except for one. Ever since the upgrade, my computer randomly shuts down, but the fans keep spinning (sometimes they go to 100% but not always). This can happen ANY time, even while in BIOS and seems to be random. Sometimes my computer goes a full 12 hours just fine, sometimes I have to start it up 5-6 times because it just shuts down right after entering windoms, or even right after POST. Edit: Might be useful to add that there's no power cycling. I can boot up the computer just fine after it breaks. Here's my system specs - Ryzen 5 5600X - AsRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 - 16GB Crucial Ballistix 3200 C16 kit - Old Toshiba SATA SSD for Windows - New Crucial P5 with fresh Windows Installation - EVGA GTX 1080 Ti Hybrid - Phanteks AMP 550W (same internals as the Seasonic Focus GX) Here's what I have already tried - Different BIOS versions - Different motherboard (tried an MSI B550 board) - Clearing CMOS and running without XMP etc - Ditching the old Windows install and using only the Crucial P5 - Reseating CPU/RAM/PSU Cables - Different PSU (I also have a Corsair CX450M that I got from warranty and has pretty much been unused since I got it) None of this has solved the problem. I have NO IDEA what the issue is and frankly I'm just about to pull out my hair over this. Do you guys have any suggestions? It would be much appreciated ~Energycore
  20. So, I know about Scotty Kilmer and his controversial takes and tone in his videos so I'd watched him a couple times years ago, but I came across a recent video of his and the production quality is up so much compared to before. The video editing was awesome and engaging, though it did use a bit too much outside marketing material from time to time.

It does look like the "toxic" (imo) clickbait titles are still in there, but his tone inside the video feels more neutral and informative than before. Kudos to him!

Here's the video in question (shitty clickbait title notwithstanding, the info inside there was really well put imo)

Statements about battery care are dependent on battery chemistry.  And electric cars have all kinds of different weird chemistries often not seen elsewhere. He seems to be talking about NiMh. If the car uses NiMh then OK. Ymmv though.  Different chemistries have different needs. It will vary.

      Yes they are.

  23. Are you sure about that? Like, are you SURE sure?

  25. Anyone have experience with the Arctic Accelero Hybrid III 120 or 140?

@WoodenMarker tagging you here because I wasn't able to find a reputable review for this. Would you recommend it as a replacement for my current EVGA Hybrid system for a 1080 Ti?

    Cheers 😄

I haven't personally used it but ngl, it does kind of just look like a generic Asetek AIO.

      Kitguru not reliable? 😞

It's good but a bit old. If there's warranty, it's hard to go wrong with. Just about any 120 / 140mm AIO should be fine provided proper mounting hardware.
