Repasted my R9 290. Here's some bench

I ran these with the following fan curve which is nigh silent unless at full load.

Stock 1050MHz, -25mV. Max Temp 78, final stable temp 77

I don't care much about huge gaming performance out of this guy, but I'm quite impressed with the temps after repasting. Especially the low-power one which is what I use most of the time.

    noice, i nvr tweaked fan curve much, just tweak power limit (voltage for AMD) to drop temps

    most of the time i dont see much performance drops, but you got -30% for 6c drop ouch

    Yeah, R9 290s are hard to get to low power consumption without sacrificing performance.

     

    It's ok, I'll grab a properly cooled 1080 Ti or 5700 XT sometime soon
