They claim to be moving away from the group buy system and are going to be just another e-retailer as seen in this comment https://imgur.com/a/TbYUhVt on the official announcement found here: https://drop.com/talk/23063/massdrop-is-now-drop This is unfortunate as the originally community-driven and user focused site will likely no longer feature niche products and will only carry regular stock self-branded items and other main-stream wares. Many others are speculating that they may even resort to 'Drop' shipping rather than keeping their own stock of non-self branded products given the name.

Additionally, they've relaunched on a new highly frustrating to navigate and very uninspiring new site that even they are claiming hasn't been fully worked out. An additional issue I see (that may remedy with time) is that drop.com doesn't even show in the first page of search results and such an obscure branding may struggle to gain traction in an already widely covered retail space where Massdrop never had to compete in.

People have to remember that these kinds of search optimized changes take time to propagate through the system. Assuming their business doesn't immediately fail, in a few weeks, their search results will be higher and more prominent.

I'm getting a Pi Zero to use as my streaming PC.

    I kid.

Actually, I'm wanting to mess around with a simple, low-cost single room 'security' system of sorts.
