  1. On paper the 970 EVO Plus has been speeds than the SN700 & SN750 (3300 MB/s vs 3100 & 3000) as well as being cheaper at 2TB (£219.98 vs £311.99 & £343.99) Am I missing anything there? Are those rated write speeds for the Samsung including the SLC cache? Would the speeds of the WDs sustain better than the Samsung? Thank you for your help, sorry for all the questions!
  2. Thank you for your response. There's a couple of terms in there that are a little bit beyond my understanding of the hardware, but I think I get the gist of it! I'd heard great things of the 970 Pro, although are you saying it's no longer really what it was?
  3. I don't mind changing hardware at all, I just need to know what hardware will meet my usecase
  4. Hi all, I run a video production company and we have two PC that we offload large 4k ProRes files onto, sometimes up to 1TB worth in about ≈100GB files all in one go. We're transfering off a Samsung T5 through USB for context. During our transfers we can see our SLC cache filling up and the transfer speeds dropping dramatically. In the attached image I've emulated the issue by transferring between two M.2 SSDs where it drops from 2GB/s to 500MB/s, but when copying from T5 to our larger SATA SSDs we can drop from 500 to 100MB/s, which is not sustainable. Is there anything we can do to improve our situation and get some more sustainable high transfer speeds? I don't mind investing into certain storage media that won't slow down/won't slow down as much Thank you!
  5. Summary YouTube educational content creator Destin Sandlin has collaborated with developers to create the app 4Privacy, which has been released via Kickstarter Quotes My thoughts I think its great to see Destin putting his media clout and technical mind behind something that could truly change society. Although just the beginning, this is a big step in breaking up the stranglehold that Big Tech has on our data and means to transmission. 6. Hi there - title pretty much sums it up, i'm after a no-frill mechanical keyboard. I'm not worried about RGB but it must have the num-keys (100% size) - media keys would be great but not a deal breaker. Should also add I'm in the UK and I'm not too keen on using sites like AliExpress. I know you can go down the rabbit hole of keyboards, like any niche, but I don't want to be paying three figures - is that a reasonable expectation?
  7. Summary Norfolk County Council in England is taking the tech giant to court, claiming that they mislead investors about handset demand in November 2018. The council holds shares in Apple as part of an employee pension scheme. Quotes My thoughts Its seems Apple is in the courts a lot recently with the ongoing suit with Epic Games and the US monopoly investigations. I feel that the pensions group working on behalf of the council (my council, I should add, not that it changes my opinion because they're pretty naff) would have to come up with some serious evidence that Tim Apple did anything wrong if it wants to compete with both Apple and the US court system. 8. Feck me sideways it bloody works! Cleared the cmos and rebooted a couple of times and now windows boots and sees ll 8gb of RAM! Thank you everyone so so much x
  9. Okay, I set the RAM speeds to 2133 with A-XMP disabled, then took out the HyperX and it just boot loops, any ideas?
  10. Thank you so much for that, i'll try it right away! Already updated the bios but i'll make the xmp tweak
  11. Okay, so how do I turn xmp on in an AMD UEFI, isn't it called something else?
  12. From the forum posts i've found its all completely compatible. Any idea how to check this in bios and settings I can tweak to set it to a bootable speed?
  13. Hey, So I have just built a new Ryzen system with a 1600, MSI B350m Bazooka motherboard and a GTX 1050. When everything was delivered I realised I'd accidentally ordered DDR3 RAM (DOH!) so I borrowed an 8GB stick of HyperX from a friend to get me going. Now that my new Corsair Vengeance 2x 4GB Kit has been delivered, i'm having some issues: 1x Vengeance installed - No post 2x Vengeance installed - No post 1x Vengeance installed & 1x HyperX installed - Post and bios/windows sees both sticks 2x Vengeance installed & 1x HyperX installed - Post and bios/windows sees all 3 sticks I'm absolutely tearing my hair out here and my friend needs his ram back, help!
  14. Hi Guys, So I'm looking to spice up my channel a bit with some awesome B-Roll shots, I absolutely love the work Brandon does on LTT with getting such beautiful shots of products. I was just wondering if anybody (or even Brandon, if you read this?) could give me some advice to get some really awesome shots and footage to make my videos look better. Thanks guys, Callum Howard www.YouTube.com/ca11umh
  15. I currently have a Logitech G110 KB and a G402 Mouse - no headphones, just some generic Dell speakers that came with an old Dimension 9150
