Hello LTT,
The other day a friend of mine gave me their Dell XPS Studio 1340 (Core 2 Duo 4gb RAM etc.). The laptop is in great condition so I figured I would get a linux distro on it and put it to good use. The laptop did not have a drive so i got a spare one and was going to boot linux from a flash drive. However, the laptop hangs on the Dell splash screen when I boot up and will not let me access the BIOS, setup boot devices, or boot into and OS. The only thing I am able to do is hit escape and see system specifications, from there it prompts me to enter F2 and go into the BIOS however, this does not work.
So far, I have tried reseating the RAM and resetting the CMOS.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Ronnie
