  1. Yes. just make sure you are on an updated bios and you enable the relevant settings in the bios and radeon settings.
  2. That is totally fine, as long as the clocks are normal. Software power reporting is generally not that accurate and the card will only pull as much power as it needs based on the workload.
  3. it should work as a 'G-sync compatible' monitor but you will need to enable the toggle in the control panel if it's not Nvidia certified. Also that monitor really shouldn't be used for HDR as it doesn't get bright enough for a decent experience.
  4. Yikes, other than inspecting the lights for any obviously burned connections and attempting a repair, you are out of luck. 12v into 5v components = carnage. New lights time I guess
  5. Bios flashing is generally quite a safe procedure as long as the flash progress isn't interrupted (power outage etc.). Here is a link to the MSI guide for bios flashing. While you can use the bios flashback feature I would suggest a standard flash as you already have a cpu installed. Make sure before you update that the new bios still supports your current cpu properly (it is common for some of the amd boards to drop support for older cpus on newer bios versions). Also if you have a smaller capacity usb drive (8 or 16gb), I would suggest using that (formatted as FAT32) . In some circumstances larger capacity drives can have detection issues (won't hurt anything, just fails to show up in bios flash or read).
  6. Big GPU upgrade inbound.  Going from my 5yr old 1050ti to a sapphire pulse RX 6700XT.

  7. How long is a piece of string? Thermals depend on so many variables, power draw, load, silicon quality etc. Those temps appear completely normal, but if you wanted to know if they improved after the changes you are SOL.
  8. Sounds like the power button itself could be faulty. Try turning the PC on by shorting the power button pins on the motherboard with a screwdriver. If this works properly you have a faulty power button.
  9. Usually slots that share bandwidth are listed in the specs. So I would say that both slots should run at full bandwidth considering that the x4 slot is connected via the chipset. PCIE lane assignment comes down to the motherboard manufacturer, thus it varies across models (even within the same chipset) so the best place to look is the user manual.
  10. Just had a look at the PSU tier list and it seems the EVGA GA PSUs have had tripping issues with high transient power draw GPUs (like the 6900XT). So it may be worth swapping that PSU out to prevent future problems.
  11. Its likely a defective GPU, although it might be worth trying the gpu in a different pcie slot and/or system to verify.
  12. Try verifying the game files (through steam) and turning down the graphics settings. May also be worth trying a different graphics driver version.
  13. TF2 is not a demanding game so I wouldn't expect it to use 100% GPU so that behavior is normal. Is the performance in game fine?
  14. @mactipiakThanks for the screenshots, I would say it looks like a gpu/driver issue as it seems to only occur in cyberpunk which appears to pull less power (ruling out a PSU issue). Are there any known issue/fixes for 6800XT's in cyberpunk? Maybe try underclocking the gpu a little (-100mhz core/mem), the fact that the screen goes black points towards a graphics driver crash. PS it's winter over here in AU, 27 °C would be great weather.
  15. Any SSD as a boot drive is massively faster than a HDD and will dramatically improve boot times and system responsiveness. As for program launch speed it is largely application dependent with some benefitting more than others. Essentially HDD's still work well for large file and program storage (low $ per gb), with SSD's being far superior for read/write limited workloads. As such it is essential to have an SSD as a boot drive (where you will see the biggest gains) with other uses cases seeing more limited benefits. On my main PC I have games installed on both an SSD and a HDD and I would be hard pressed to notice a difference without a stopwatch.
  16. No question is a silly question, you need to download the media creation tool from Microsoft to create a windows installer usb. Then you boot from the usb and follow the prompts to install windows. This guide goes over the process in more detail. You don't need to get a new windows license just make sure you install the same version of windows that your pc comes with (pro, home etc.) and it will automatically reactivate. Games don't really benefit from faster storage aside from loading times, which is why there is no real benefit to storing them on a nvme ssd vs a sata ssd. Especially when you can pick a 1tb sata ssd for less than $100 USD. I mean LTT even did a video where most LMG staff couldn't tell the difference between various ssd's (sata, nvme gen 3, nvme gen 4) without doing a straight file copy
  17. I would only download the dell software which is useful to me as 256gb is not really much space. Have you looked at prices of SSD's as 500gb and 1tb sata SSD's are relatively cheap.
  18. The majority of memory kits advertise the XMP profile speed and are technically considered an overclock, only thing the list means is that those speeds have been validated by the manufacturer. You can definitely put in a 3600mhz kit, just note that it is an overclock and there is no guarantee that it will work flawlessly. if you want to be certain that a particular memory kit will run at its rated frequency look on the manufacturers website for a memory support list but note that they are typically not updated and can be quite limited.
  19. it doesn't sound like OCP is kicking in, as that would usually cut power straight away. Try running stress tests on both the gpu and cpu simultaneously (e.g. prime 95 & furmark) to see if it occurs outside of cyberpunk.
  20. 100% option A, high refresh rate 4k gaming is still a bit tough for current gpu's IMO. Upgrading ram and cpu will really help to achieve higher frame rates and at 1440p you should still be able to keep the eye candy turned on.
  21. Bottleneck calculator, just no. Single thread performance is king for gaming as titles slowly begin to use more than four threads. Keep in mind cpu bottlenecks only really happen in high fps scenarios so in most cases it isn't noticable.
  22. Gpu load fluctuations are normal under some loads, try using a gpu benchmark like unigine superposition or 3dmark timespy to see how your system compares against equivalent hardware.
  23. No a 10600k is still perfectly capable even more so with an overclock.
  24. Dell has a windows reinstallation tool, but I would suggest creating your own up to date windows installer and doing a clean install. Then you can grab all the drivers and programs you want from the dell support page for your pc, this way you can avoid the bloatware dell includes for a faster cleaner windows install.
