  1. Thank you both for the reply! You'll have to forgive me for the delayed reply as life got a little busy. I'll try both and let you know how it goes (= Oh and @mariushm I looked at the files that you sent with your script and from what I can tell you already have it set up to where all I would have to do is run the folders and then download scripts. Is that right or should I go ahead and run the extract script with the input.html?
  2. So this might be an odd question. But I was wondering if anyone would know of anyway to download all the server.jar files listed here (just the stable releases category) into folders for each version? I have a bit of anxiety over things disappearing/being lost and wanted to make sure I could start a collection of all the older server versions of Minecraft so that I could be sure I can start one up if need be. Obviously it wouldn't be too hard to maintain however the initial downloading seems like it would benefit from some sort of way to download them all whether it's via a bash script or some other method. I had initially though of using wget with wild card to nab all the versions and just delete the ones I don't want but I found out none of the jar files are named uniquely (all are server.jar). So any tips?
  3. Thank you for the recommendation, I think that'll work great for the intel system I do see your point about used DDR4 being overpriced. I guess I had thought that maybe now that it has had time to saturate the market I might have been able to pick up some cheap server ram. To address your second point, considering I am a just barely not broke high school student (spending all my money on computer parts probably didn't help) I don't think selling the parts and trying from scratch would help. I don't really have the luxury to plan builds and usually have to work with what I can get. Oh I didn't know about this site, I'll have to keep an eye on it thank you (=
  4. The title is pretty self explanatory. I have been really lucky recently and have gotten some computer parts as gifts from family to build some systems to get into virtualization and some other projects of mine, as well as some old parts from a friend who upgraded their system. However, I did overlook one detail. I have zero extra DDR4. Which just so happens to be the thing these systems need. So here is the situation: I have three systems, and one kit of DDR4 (G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200) Currently what I do is put the RAM into the system I need to use at the moment and use it, then when I need to use one of the other machines (see list below) I power down the system currently using the ram and stick it in the system I need to use next. Not ideal, as I know I run the risk of damaging the slot or DIMM everytime I insert and remove the DIMM. The first system (system in back of photo), which currently has the kit in it, is my desktop PC (I have a decent laptop, so I haven't been using it often, I still use it though) It has a R7 2700x and an Asus "ROG Strix X470-F Gaming" motherboard. The second system, which I hope to get up and running to lend to my girlfriend, has an i5 6600k and an Asus "STRIX Z270G Micro ATX LGA1151" motherboard. The third system, which is my hopefully soon to be home server, has a TR 1920x and an Asrock "Fatal1ty X399 Professional Gaming" motherboard. I was wondering if any you had some good recommendations for used or refurbished RAM as I have never really bought used hardware online before and would rather not screw it up. I was hoping if at all possible to get a 2x16GB kit for the TR system (or if I am lucky 4x16GB) and I don't think I have room to be picky about frequency or ECC/Non-ECC. Then for the Intel system I think just anything that would work, like a kit of 2x8gb, and I don't think I'd be picky about if they have a heat spreader or not. If it doesn't I can just slap an aftermarket heat spreader on em to make em look nice. Sorry for asking what seems like a pretty easy question to answer with google, I wanted to get a little human input to make sure I make the right decision (=
  5. So I recently was doing some upgrades to my PC and when I was taking out my graphics card I accidentally bumped the amp chip on my MoBo, this caused it to get slightly dislodged and to bend two of the pins on one end, so I took it out, bent the pins back and put it back into it's slot. To sum this story up quickly now, I put in the wrong way round and after fixing that error the audio from the back of my mobo doesn't sound good/right anymore. While I could easily order a new chip I figured since I need a new one, I may as well see if I can upgrade it for a decent price. The current chip is: http://www.ti.com/product/OPA2134/description My budget: ≤$25
  6. I ended up going the route of just using teracopy on a seperate machine to copy the files over, I also got a new SSD for christmas along with that HDD and when I tried to move my OS install to the new SSD I ended up breaking the install on the old SSD and the new one, so I had to reinstall and since I had mostly program files and games on that HDD I think the steam library will be the only thing I can still use. All that considered though, thank you for your help.
  7. So I tried the raw copy and upon completion the drive in Disk management showed up as Invalid. I tried to go ahead and use gptgen which didn't work. I guess what I am wondering is, are there any ways that you know of that I could go about this or do you know where I may have gone wrong?
  8. thank you so much, I imagine the raw data transfer will go rather quickly since I imagine it would act in terms of transfer rates like it was a large file, though do you know how slow/fast is the gptgen tool is? I have a couple of drives I need to probably do this treatment to.
  9. So I am trying to transfer the data from my old 1tb WD Blue to my new 4tb Seagate Barracuda (keep in mind, not OS disk). I usually use Minitool partition wizard free edition but the free version only supports MBR but in order to get one 3.7 tb volume I need GPT format type, I would normally just go into windows explorer and ctrl-C and ctrl-V to transfer the files but I am getting some abysmal speeds considering they are connected via SATA Directly to another computers MoBo (10-30 MB/s). Does anybody have a recommendation for some software that would work for this?

  11. Honestly, why hell do people think this is acceptable. I would love to see where these people learned and began to think that this type of behavior was acceptable. I imagine squashing the source of such behaviors would have a larger impact than going after individuals. Though I am not condemning what was done.
  12. I am not sure if that would matter as I can't even get the vanilla launcher to launch, let alone the FTB Launcher. The "crash" occurs mere moments after I click on the .exe to open the launcher, I never even see a window, I just get a new log file for my collection. (sorry if I seem agitated, I have just been at this for a while longer than I would have liked to)
  13. Doesn't seem like that would be the issue, I have had some random times where my GPU will crash (and most of the time recovery) when playing overwatch, but I think that is just me needing to iron out some of the kinks in my ageing overclock on my GPU. oh and my GPU is an "MSI R9 390 Gaming 8G OC Edition" (a mouthful I know)
  14. tried installing just the 64-bit, and no bueno, thoughts? (I attached the log file that was generated too) hs_err_pid4980.log
