To be fair they weren't just being the paper boy, they were also the reporter, and we all know journalists and reporters will sometimes misinterpret or misunderstand. Sometimes they even insert their own interpretation if something is vague or not fully understood.

This is my take away from it, the article in the OP even claims the 5Ghz number was assumed to be factory clock by media.  @leadeater seems to have a video or something where Intel makes more specific claims, but I have yet to find it and from what he has claimed even those don't seem to be detailed enough to make absolute statements.  As @pas008 pointed out, this type of showoffmanshipo is common. If they can't produce the goods in Q4 then we can claim it's misleading, until then it's just another product showcase with little promise.

If you feel it's misleading then more power to you, if you don't care then you'll probably sleep well tonight.   Personally I'm not too sure how many people were going to run out and buy a bar fridge to cool an as yet unreleased CPU that might be an older xeon (as every tech reviewer/journalist pointed out it most likely was) or might be a demo for a new product in several months.  Either way it seems like a pretty silly thing to get your panties in a knot over.

lol no not all cards make it that long
had msi armor 1080ti before my evga scs decided to go back to sli again
had major issues 4 weeks for rma
 
same thing happened with my 670s which as we talk I ended up owning 3x 670s even seen the horrible triple sli scaling at a point
sli setups I have had 8600gt, 8800gtx, gts250, gtx 260, gtx 460, gtx560ti, gtx 670, gtx 970, gtx 1080ti, few crossfire setups too wish their crossfire support was just 3 quarters of what nvidias is, used radeon pro all I could but still had wait for ati/amd to release a profile for an engine that was being used on other games as well,
not to mention I also run 3rd card for more accessory displays
run surround 144hz plus 2
2 over 3 setup
 
but like I previously said I use them for work at time but streamers might not want to wait 4 weeks either which you can say is a hobby job

It really amazes me how much this forum tries to twist anything Intel or Nvidia does into negative light. Intel or Nvidia could literally cure cancer, do it for free, and this forum would post:

I don't see why this matters at all. If you look at pricing, H310 boards are a whopping $8 cheaper than B360 boards.
If there was enough push back from board manufacturers they could simply ask for a small price break and voila. Same price.
Or, those who are building budget PC's can skip a Starbucks trip and they're at the same cost.
 
Really, at pricing that close, it doesn't make any sense to produce both SKUs.

I use multiple tools at work to make my job easier bet many of you here do too

Yes they did, their GPP speal was contradictory to their product marketing and naming.
No that proves nothing.  You do know what proof is don't you?  Proof is something that cant be disputed. nothing is nothing. proof is something. You can't point to nothing and claim it as proof of something. Especially if you've just made that something up in your head because you see an inconsistency on marketing guff.

You might want to go back to the start of this thread and read it.  None of that is disputed let alone is evidence that  any one hypothesis in this thread carries more weight than another.  
 
We all agree GPP causes the creation of Arez, but that is something we have all agreed upon the whole time.  the debate I have maintained is that there is no way you can claim GPP is damaging/unethical anymore than you can claim it was good for the industry.
 
We have no facts that shed any light on motive, legality or long term effects had it continued.

This is exactly what I am saying.  Facts regarding this are hidden from us. which leaves everything else we observe to be an opinion.

Exactly, you require facts to validate your hypothesis. Given we don't have any facts, you cant validate and thus you can't claim one is better than the other.

What we all should have done is said nothing, no one should have reported on and and AMD shouldn't have brought it up until there was enough evidence to satisfy everyone. We should also feel sorry for Nvidia for having to cancel the program.
 
Well unlike science and math where you have the luxury to take your time to perfect your hypothesis and to do the proof for it I don't subscribe to the "Let a business do what is currently observable to be wrong", give them a right of reply which Nvidia got which they did not utilize.
 
Science and math is built upon the freedom of access to information where the confines of business are not. To require that we conduct everything in a scientific manor when we are not under scientific conditions will lead to nothing, there is no way to prove a hypothesis when the required information is behind company trade secrets which they are not willing to release.
 
I'm all for science but business is not science, if it were science we'd have all the information freely accessible.
