  1. jeezaz....if i would have learned japanese as my first language i would have trouble with european languages aswell i think speakers are interesting...but would drive cost...the one for my father is already done. BUT im building another one. Gonna keep you updated here
  2. If you insist i'll experiment with speakers but for my dad there was no need to put in speakers...since he has a very good sound system anyway.
  3. i really apreciate all of you...but maybe some comments about my project?
  4. What the actual F***...why are there pictures missing...ah screw it...you saw the end result thanks for reading, even if this one was a short one. See you next time
  5. a week later...im back. Wood is painted and assembled. Now for some testfitting. yes i know...the GPU is tiny...but i won't buy some ridiculously priced GPU for an office PC and the for the finished thing: and in its natural habitat Big Thanks to all of you who stopped and read through this little project. I learned so much and i am already improving the design. Feel free to leave some comments on what you think should be incorporated in the improved version. Until next time, have a nice day. Bye
  6. I wont argue with that...as i only understand japanese a little bit
  7. Ah...if you are referring the difficulty...i get it...and maybe even the sound of speech
  8. What do you mean? The language or that it is the same in every language?
  9. i had to have a name for it...and i kinda like japanese...so why not
  10. hey as i am not that expierienced with casebuilding i designed the holes as air intakes. I never thought of speakers as my father already has some speakers set up...and if i wanted to do good speakers without the distortion from all the electronics inside...i might have to make the case bigger...but that is a fun idea. Will try that as alternative
  11. Hello there Random Stranger, Welcome to my world, well.. now that I got that out of my system, welcome to my new project. My father wanted a new PC and I, as the techsavy guy in our family, offered to build him one. And as a special treat...decided to build him a custom case...just because i can. Because i know that my father is a little bit old fashioned i decided to build him a retro themed case. Inspiration was drawn from old radios and tv's. The two main materials would be copper and wood, dark wood since wood tends to darken over time. and it looks nice with copper. The next premise was: it should be located on the desk to make it easily accesible...wich ties in with the first: should look nice since it had to be placed on the desk. further requirements: DVD Drive (so annoying) Further Hardwware isnt much to mention since he gave me a pretty tight budget... so i went with a Pentium G4600 2C/4T MSI B250I Pro 8 GB DDR4 Value RAM (holy fuck that shit got expensive) some old Nvidia GT i still had (thanks to crypto that went through the roof right at the start of this build) bequiet PSU some DVD drive so i got to work and started to visualise what i had in mind. Here is a first peek using SketchUp (my fathers work area) where its black there should be copper... Those "renderings" convinced my father and i went to work. Sadly there aren't many pictures as some got lost...don't know why though after a couple of router passes i had all the 45 degree angles kinda right... that was one pain in the back to do those...especially with an unprecise routerbit. yeah.,...i made that picture with my smartphone instead of the DSLR...cant believe i did that test fitting and adjustments and yeah...its not copper...as it turns out i was too ambitious about that...couldn't do it myself as i dont have neither the tools nor the skills to do so. But i found a company which specializes in cutting sheet metal according to CAD drawings (even one at a time). Guess you need a little bit of luck too. Now i have just to paint that. Aaaand TADAAAAAA!!!!! This looks way nicer than i feared it might look. As you might have noticed...the wood is actually playwood...for the same reason the copper is not really copper. Sadly i dont have a CNC so i had to outsource the wood cutting as well. At least the openings i cut myself. (pretty lousy if one might notice) But as nobody will ever see the inside or the backside....since it will be on my fathers desk for the next 5 years.... Don't care Thats it for now. Thanks for reading along.
  12. Ok Thanks Guys ill go with skylake and let them try windows 10...then they can decide on their own whats more to their liking. and thanks for the tipp with teamviewer. Should make shit easier in the future much thanks guys.
  13. Hey I am building a system for my Parents and they still have windows 7 on their old PC. And they dont want to change to windows 10. My problem is the dickmove Microsoft did with stopping support for Win 7 on Kaby lake CPUs. Are the only two solutions to either stick with older hardware like Haswell to be sure windows 7 works at least until 2020 when they kill it ultimatly or convincing my parents to switch to win 10? The Problem is i live like 300-400 kilometers away from my parents and cant just come over to troubleshoot some issue (sadly) so i need a system which has little issues to begin with. Thanks for any advice or suggestions. Zer0Mo
  14. well maybe i have to use the pastel orange if it turns reddish but honestly i feel you...
  15. So....im still not sure why exactly the color changed...even the support had no idea. But after running the loop for a bit over a week and rinse it aftwerwards with destilled water somehow fixed the issue more or less. The coolant still changed a bit but as long as it is only a dark red i do not care. Thank you for the suggestions.
  16. Currently in contact with EKWB Support...going to report how it is going.
  17. Your english is fine I mixed it prior to filling in a bottle according to EKs instructions...so should be fine regarding the mix.
  18. maybe they have found a chameleonparticle but i would prefer it if it wouldn't turn brown in a black/red build
  19. @ARikozuMNo there was no corrosion on the blocks but maybe i should have a look...oh no...lord have mercy....and @DildorTheDecent Im sorry for the typo I have two 240s. I would not have a problem with tomatosoup red...but it is more brown than red at this point.
  20. Hey Guys, Im at a loss, i had my custom loop now change color on me 3 times. And yes i rinsed everything several times with distilled water prior to assembly. The first time was with distilled water and Mayhems Blood Red Dye. I cleaned everything up and tried again. The same result. After that i cleaned(Distilled water and vinegar) and rinsed it several times with distilled water and switched to EK-Ekoolant Pastel Red to see if it was a bad dye. But the Ekoolant changed changed color within a day. What now...my loop runs around 30ish idle and 40-45ish load. No overclock obviously. It contains: EK Supremacy EVO CPU Block Nickel EK 250 X3 Reservoir EK GTX970 TFX GPU Block Nickel 2x EK Coolstream PE 240 Radiator Some EK and Alphacool fittings all nickel EK D5 Pump PETG Hardtubing I don't know what to do...had somebody out there a similar experience or a solution?? or maybe a hint what could cause the problem?
  21. gibe nao...no siriously...would be ccol to have. This would be cool for another Custom Project
  22. Well...i really like the short distance at which it projects...and it would be super cool to hide it in a cabinet so you can't see it normally but if you turn it on...BAM more importantly...i really would like to have it because im a student and can't afford it...
  23. Thanks man...the bends for the CPU drove me insane...siriously... I love the carbon fiber idea on the PCIE extensionscable...gonna try it. i think they're hard to get in germany at least when i was looking for them...but thanks for reminding...gonna look again. And thanks for the input...really appreciate it.
