  1. So I replaced the motherboard last night due to a DIMM/RAM controller issue on my previous one. Installation went fine and my new motherboard (same model as the previous ASUS X99-USB3.1) and all 32GB of RAM was being read. However, when I put the GPU on 144hz (or anything above 60) I get what's seen in the picture attached. I tried everything from using a different PCI-Ex16 slot to a new dual link DVI cable but nothing seems to be working. I've seen other people have this issue online but no clear solution. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Note: Everything with the display was working fine on the previous motherboard.

  4. Okay I figured it out right after I posted this (like always lol) Thank you everyone!
  5. Hey all, Didn't know where would be an appropriate section for this post so I figured I'd post it here in general. So, the issue I'm having is a video I'm working on in Vegas has a gaussian blue applied to the entire project when there aren't any video fx applied to the footage. Came out of no where and can't get it to go away. I tried rendering to see if it was just the preview but same issue. Super annoyed to have worked on something for a couple hours just to have Vegas shit the bed. ANY help is greatly appreciated. -BobQ
  6. Gotcha, appreciate it. Have you ever heard of something similar for Linux? I did a little bit of searching and couldn't really find much. I figured something for Linux would be open-source and free. It just sucks how this happened. Literally didn't do anything with the drive. One second windows was like ayy I read this, then it was like ayy wut is this lol. I did a scan and everything is still there, just isn't readable by Windows.
  7. Then there should be no issue getting it swapped out. It's pretty much DOA as far as I'd be concerned.
  8. Hey all, So I did a new install of Windows a couple weeks ago and realized that one of my slave drives wasn't showing up anymore. I went into the partition manager and it said it was allocated space when in reality it was about 1TB of 2TB full. Not sure what happened but ran a disk scanner (Disk Drill) and it found everything. Issue is, the program is $90. Does anyone know of something that restores data like Disk Drill that is either much cheaper or free? (Windows or Linux) Thank you very much, BobQ
  9. This is great, something we had done to prevent users from shutting down their systems remotely was add a group policy on the server to prevent that from happening. We were just looking to see if there were any other options available to us.
  10. Hello everyone, This is a work related question. We currently have many of our staff working from home due to the rona; does anyone know of a way to boot (not wake) a machine via something like magic packet? We use Dell systems to the BIOS option of Power by PCI is not an option (Unless Dell has this feature named as something else). Any help or aid in my direction of research is greatly appreciated! -BobQ
  11. Yeah, I plan on looking into it more and putting it into another computer. I'll post an update if I somehow manage to make it work. (Unless I forget to lol)
  12. It did but said Failure. Tried a few things but I think its just dead.
  13. Yeah, I got what he meant but figured I'd still ask to see if he knew of any potential recovery programs.
  14. Is there a specific program you would recommend to recover data? I've hear its particularly difficult to do with an SSD.
  15. Hello, so I went to load up a game to play on steam and was greeted to an error I have never seen before (Lots of words but mainly about a missing .exe shortcut). I looked in file explorer to see what was wrong and noticed there was a blue question mark on the drive. Now, at first, it had said that there is something around 30GB remaining out of 250GB but when I went to look in the drive, it would say 'Folder Empty'. It was acting like nothing was actually on the drive when it was actually quite populated. Looked in Disk Management and saw [Refer to 2nd image.] Not sure what happened or what to do. Worked fine yesterday and never shown any issues. Am I just being dumb and is the the answer right in front of me? Any help is much appreciated. -BobQ (And yes, I did restart my computer with no luck)
