  1. My new i7 4770k hit 100c during stress test with the shitty stock cooler. Both my 17" Macbook Pro 2009 model and my 15" 2012 Retina model will hit 100c on a regular basis if doing something heavy.
  2. No the 770 is different. 780 & Titan are the same.
  3. Yes it's the same with Crossfire. In both SLI and Crossfire the same data must be stored in the vram of both (or all) GPUs so even if you've got two, three or four times as much memory all memory banks are copies of eachother. What you do get is that the GPUs shares the load between them using various methods (split frame rendering, alternative frame rendering etc.) so you get better performance, as long as the software support is there.
  4. Depending on the airflow and temps inside of your case the idle temp is not bad with factory overclock and all.... that flexing with increased temperature doesn't sound normal hough. I'd investigate that a bit further, take the card out and take a closer look. Maybe some screws are not as tight as they should be.
  5. Like I've said in several other threads, the limited memory bus on the 770 won't make use of the extra vram (very little of it anyway). If there is little difference in price go for it, but don't expect it to make use of the vram like a 780, 7970 or Titan would.
  6. How much in terms of options do you get in the bios on the machine? Was that HDD completely formated after you stopped running Windows on it? If not it might still have a now non functional and hidden boot sector. If you reinstalled Windows 7 or 8 with both the SSD and the HDD in the machine it's also very likely that the system got placed on one of them and the boot sector on the other, Windows in all it's wisdom seems to do that a lot. I googled an awful lot about this boot order issue where the system just refuses to let you boot from disc or USB as long as there are traces of Windows on any HDD or SDD, making it very difficult to do anything. I didn't have much luck and different methods worked in different situations.
  7. He's including the bezel compensation.
  8. To me personally "refurbished" has always meant "still broken"
  9. 760/770 lack the memory bus width to make use of 4gb vram, not sure why they even keep releasing such models. All tests of second tier cards with extra vram shows that they're barely putting any of their extra vram to use.
  10. Yeah that really is the downside of it all.
  11. That might have been the customs fee for importing goods. Unless you use courier international packages tend to get stuck in customs for days or even weeks in some places.
  12. Just compare it to the GD65 and make sure that doesn't have some features you want but that's not found on the GD45.
  13. When buying a monitor I really hate to compromise. As monitors do break, pixels do die and so on I too much rather pay extra for longer warranty.... with monitors I tend to just go with DELLs high end stuff. If anything breaks in the first few years they just deliver a new one to your door and take away the one that's broken. And once you go 1440p or 1600p it's very hard to go back.

    RAT 9?

Used R.A.T 9 for over a year and not had any problems with sensor or anything else. I've got it connected via hub to one PC and two different Macs and no problem on any machine. The only drawback really is the battery....but at least it comes with two batteries and you've always got one of them charged fully.
  15. I've read threads where people had warped reservoirs right out of the box. My bet is also on pure design flaw.... supposedly fixed in any units produced in the past few months.
  16. Depends on what you're playing. If it's some new game or if you've changed something with an existing game.
  17. I was choosing between those two boards for my new gaming PC and in the end I just picking the board I thought looked best.
  18. If you don't know what your options are at that pricepoint you've got no need for any $400 motherboard. Most people who purchase the highest end motherboards makes absolutely no use of any of the features they are paying an extra $200 for.
  19. This is not exactly the same but it's similar to the problem I had some days ago with my Windows 8 SSD being locked and being unable to boot on the device I wish to boot on.... I had to roll back my motherboard bios before it let me boot from an optical disc, and then it still only let me do it via manual override. To see if there is something totally wrong with the SSD I'd really try connecting it to another PC... if you've got a laptop where that is possible. If the SSD works you can then copy any files you need from it and format it. That's if you're unable to somehow force your machine to boot from disc or usb and you manage to repair your current Windows. In my case I had to format and reinstall in the end. That locked drive thing is totally messed up.
  20. You'll need at least one 780 to properly run surround. The 670s lack in both vram and memory bus so even if two in SLI would be able to push out the frames many games will fill up the vram and you'll get huge drops down to 3-5 fps. Also Nvidia surround is 3 monitors, 5760x1080.
  21. I was in contact with AMD about a game where the redeem code was invalid (I got an 8 games bundle and 1 game didn't work) and from what AMD support told me all coupons for never settle bundles are sent to participating vendors at the start of each campaign. The vendors can then include the coupons for as long as they've still got any left.
  22. Well people are free to run their PSUs at their limit all they want, I don't work reparing PCs anymore so I don't have to deal with kids coming in crying over their broken machines. Nice overhead and a cool running PSU that barely need to spin the fan results in better system stability, safer operation and longer lifespan. Personally I'd never place parts I'd paid for into a 780 SLI setup without an 850 watts PSU minimum.
  23. I wouldn't call the 770 an upgrade at all... other than getting rid of the graphical errors, which of course shouldn't be there regardless of which card you've got.
  24. You can't compare cards like that. 780 replaces the 680 and is better in every way. The number of CUDA cores is more important than the clock speed, they are the workhorses on Nvidia cards. With your way of comparing things the GTX 680 has better stats than the GTX Titan too. The GTX 780 also has wider memory bus and more memory than the GTX 680, makes a huge difference in higher resolution or in a heavy texture modded Skyrim for example. If you can't afford the GTX 780 I'd go for a 7970 rather than a 680, since the 7970 also has wider memory bus and more memory.
  25. I'd say no because you'd have almost no overhead. From what I've seen 780 SLI with high end CPU draws nearly 700 watts at full load, and then test systems usually only got a single SSD connected too. Edit: also nothing left for any overclocking.
