  1. Don't worry about the chair It's going to be replaced soon lol
  2. Here are the photos of the setup with peripherals. We've installed a 27 inch Samsung monitor and the Thrustmaster TCA Officer Pack, Airbus Edition. Has a sidestick and throttle, and that's all my friend needs at the moment. It's a basic Hands-On Throttle And Stick (HOTAS) setup and will be used to practice basic flight procedures we learn during our time in aviation university. The cables were managed after the photos were taken, and the chair will be replaced haha
  3. Helped my friend who is also a fellow aviation student build his first system to run flight simulators like X-Plane and MSFS2020 on. Pleased with the result The RX6600 has gone down slightly on the price (though nowhere near MSRP...) in Korea so this was the best build we could get with his budget. Specs! Ryzen 5600X AMD Wraith Prism Cooler MSI MAG B550M Mortar WIFI (M-ATX) MSI RX6600 MECH 2X TeamGroup T-Force DDR4 16GB @ 3200 MHz (8GB x 2) Western Digital Blue NVMe SSD (500GB) EVGA 650W BQ 80-Plus Bronze PSU (Semi-Modular) Bravotec Defy B40 White M-ATX Case (Korean Brand) Coolertec 200mm White LED fan for the front of the case LEDs were configured with the MSI Mystic Light utility to match the black and white color scheme. Completed setup with flight sim peripherals are in the post below!
  4. It's an outdated old build, but I've been using it well for several years now. Finally got all the hardware to use as a flight simulator after finishing my mandatory military service. Excuse the messy cables... I added the blue logo sticker of my university on the side of my case. I think it suits the case and colors well. I'm an aviation student in Korea, and I'll finally be heading to the USA to get my first flying license Specs: Intel Core i7 7700k Gigabyte Z270M-D3H Corsair Vengeance LED 16GB DDR4 (8GBx2 @ 2666MHz) Gigabyte GTX 1070 FE Cryorig C7 Cooler EVGA Supernova 750 G2 with CableMod Custom Cables Samsung 960 EVO NVMe SSD (250GB) WD Black HDD (1TB) Corsair Air 240 Case Hoping to help my brother build a much better system after he finishes his military service too.
  5. Hi, I recently reinstalled Windows onto my laptop, and it worked fine for a while. But soon the system will not boot up further than this screen, and selecting my SSD boot drive shown in the picture won't do anything. What do I do? I have reinstalled several times and this keeps happening. I've included a video as well. Sometimes it just shuts off, and sometimes it goes back to that screen. video-1462432785.mp4
  6. I recommend you save money by going with an i3 and ditching the aftermarket cooler. For what you'll be doing, the stock cooler won't even have to do much to keep your CPU cool. Now, with the money saved, you can buy higher capacity SSDs which are great if you just want a fast office experience. Really you won't need ANYTHING higher than an i3 for an office build.
  7. Alright, thanks guys. M.2 is pretty new to me so I misunderstood a lot of stuff about it. Thanks for clearing it up.
  8. Isn't there a way to check BEFORE I buy the parts?
  9. Planning on perhaps getting an M.2 Samsung 950 Pro, but I've read a few articles where motherboards "bottleneck" the SSDs to only run on SATA 3 speeds. Are there no Z170 motherboards that support the full speed of the SSDs? Should I just go with an X99? And how do I tell if the SSD will be fully compatible with the motherboard in terms of speed so that it doesn't get held back?
  10. So I'm planning on building a Skylake system this summer, and for core components I plan on these: -ASUS Z170-A -i7 6700k -64GB of DDR4 memory But the issue is that I will be moving to Korea ( I'm a South Korean living in the United Arab Emirates ) and RAM is a whole lot more expensive than in the US except for one instance. The Samsung RAM modules are sold as one stick each, and I can get them in capacities of 4, 8, and 16gb per stick. Since they are relatively inexpensive compared to RAM from other manufacturers in Korea I plan on buying 4 16gb 2133MHz modules to have a total of 64gb as Skylake processors can now support this. My question is that will these be compatible? They are from the same maker, bought at the same time, with same timings and everything, just not bought as a package of 4. I'm sure there isn't an issue right? The image attached is an example of the Samsung memory available widely in Korea. They're ugly, but they sure get the job done reliably.
  11. Ah that's another issue. Since I'll be moving around quite a bit with the PC, I do not want to venture into watercooling yet. I'm very unlucky in terms of Murphy's Law hahahah
  12. Exactly. Plus with air cooling and stuff it can get pretty stuffy. So maybe the large size and hassle is worth it?
  13. Yeah I honestly don't need any super high end GPUs cause I still like 1080p hahahah
  14. Hey all, this is my first post on LTT. I'll most likely be heading of to Uni in Korea, where prices for parts are slightly more expensive. Not too much of a problem though. Right now I have this current build (first build back from 5 years ago): -ASRock B75M -8GB RAM -600W PSU 80+ Bronze Certified -i5 3570 at 3.4Ghz -EVGA GTX 550Ti SC 1GB -Samsung EVO 250GB SSD -Seagate 2TB Hard Drive I won't be able to take it as I live in the United Arab Emirates at the moment, and will be handing this over to my younger brother, who will upgrade the rig with a GTX 960. So, I plan on building a new rig. The things I usually do are music production and occasional gaming, and I would be delighted to start learning After Effects and such. To accommodate for that I wrote up a quick spreadsheet of what I may want to build. Here it is: -i7 5820k -32GB RAM -700~750W PSU -an X99 chipset motherboard -2-4TB WD Black Hard Drive -2x 250GB SSDs in Raid 0 -NZXT H440 Case -BeQuiet! Dark Rock 3 cooler -GTX 970 I would love to take advantage of the 6 core hyperthreading and the huge amount of RAM as I use very taxing programs for music. Also for future video editing. What do you think? Would you recommend a better build? Cheaper? Smaller? Different hardware? I may be moving around with it, so will the form factor be a hassle? Is there any way to pack this much punch in an mATX or an ITX build?
