CPU and Motherboard recommendations for upgrade
Ajukrezi replied to Abernus's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
ryzen 7 should be plenty for that usecase. -
somewhere in bios setting you can disable that logo showing up or enabling detailed print out of what its doing. if you do that you should be able to read where it gets stuck. Does the internal speaker give off any beeps? or is there a diagnostic readout from motherboard?
-
i would check some power settings for you laptop. i maybe some power saving measure that makes it use internal graphics instead.

My 8700k is having an issue
Ajukrezi replied to drake19899's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
ehh in stuck it will turbo higher than 4.5ghz. That means for short burst it will in stock config run faster than 4,5 as your OC is. ohh and just a quick google of the topic gave me this from gamers nexus. when you lock you speed i will stay at that but cannot boost over. https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/3077-explaining-coffee-lake-turbo-8700k-8600k -
What's the best slot to install an nvme SSD?
Ajukrezi replied to LadyCore's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
others have answered. but just wanted to say CUDOS for actually supplying schematics for ppl to know what its about. -
Why Do Many People Still Choose Intel Core than AMD Ryzen
Ajukrezi replied to CRWND_12's topic in General Discussion
for one its still better for games. but look at benchmarks and se why, also some chose it because of features even do ryzen has other cool features. but Optane being one of the bigger edit: i would choose AMD right now though -
its because your motherboard is made for PWN fans. which is the new way to control fan speeds, its not common with 3 pin speed control anymore, and you will properly need a external fan controller for that. else do this if you feel like making a ghetto solution or google 3 pin fan controller and find some an actual solution

well a little youtube channel with some weird canadian guy made a video on the 1660super where you can see what to expect from that GPU, with game test. i would start there. also these post have come up alot look at other answers.

Which cpu upgrade should I choose
Ajukrezi replied to thibpun's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
i would wait a bit, Intel just released new CPUs and AMD sliced price on some CPU´s and ryzen 4000 series isnt that far away. but it you really want it right now. i would spend a bit ekstra for the 6 core when streaming EDIT: which means the 3600 -
Damn i did not know the difference what that big between the chips, i saw sandybrigde used more power as was to be expected. but didnt know the density changed that much
-
nope not the same but still alot closer than modern CPUs. allthough 32 and 22 nm. but the 2700k has a higher TDP.
-
a picture or illustration could help alot here. not sure i can help anyways but still

well get some good fans that arent loud. and orient coolers in a good way, i have mine pulling air in front and buttom and out top and back. i let em run pretty slow to be less noisy. ( i have some crappy and some be quiet fans) so i let the be quiet adjust in speed and the crappy ones are static slow speed. its not silent but neither loud as hell, the most noisy component is the small little 20mm fan in my 10 year old motherboard FIY: the max fan speed for be quiet fans are 1500rpm
-
my setup is running with the same cooler and runs like this. case airflow means ALOT. if the cooler cant get fresh air or get rid of old air it will have issues. My fan curves are not at all optimized but does stay cool with no issues. Didnt run the stress test that long but as said the fan curves kick in and keep it all cool but iam also using 2 fans on the dark rock, 2 140mm fans and 1 120mm, but in a shitty case allthough my voltage is set to 1.335 i can se its higher in here.
-
look at the specs of the fan. low noise fans like be quiet silent wings 3 are running at 1450 rpm at 100%. but still moving 80 m3/h. so it is properly running 100% speed
-
if its a programable ESC there is a launch control settings for it to reduce wheelspin. and that could be a very big part of the issue you have ALOT of KV your 4000kv at 11.1 volt would go 40000rpm (iknow the motor controller will reduce it). but this means you can have alot lower geearing without missing out on speed but have plenty torque. the good news is pinion gears are cheap so i would start there. not an expert in this area at all but just upgraded a 1:10 from brushed to 4200kv brushless my self and it is a beast now. but i also have alot smaller pinion gear

as he says .. nice and balanced build you have and and with this in mind you wont get any upgrade to apex. you have 80fps on a 60hz display. from my experience you wont really experience a performance increase that you really feel with the upgrades you have thinking about. i would either sell complete system and make a new with a higher budget or live with this for a couple of years and look at the progress made to hardware from there. and if you are determinded to upgrade to 6core: wait for a ryzen 3600 to be available. or even better wait for 4th gen, now intel is also arriving with new stuff so prices are hopefully gonna drop a bit for ryzen 3.

before doing anything run the game with a monitor on your utilization. see how many percent your CPU and GPU are actually getting utilized and check what software is using resources in the bagground. just checked some specs and i think your CPU should be fine for apex. actually also found some youtube videos with your CPU that has fine FPS. the game is way more GPU dependent

Case Fan full speed on boot up
Ajukrezi replied to LIGTHIN's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
same 2 140 and 2 120 and doesnt vibrate. if they vibrate you have either not mounted them tight, or fans are beginning to og in the bearing, or just shitty fans -
Case Fan full speed on boot up
Ajukrezi replied to LIGTHIN's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
i think that is pretty standard. at least i have had 2 motherboards that does that. iam more conserned what the heck you have installed since it vibrates that much -
Pc boot's and then it goes straight to bios (bios boot up)
