  1. Nothing new I am afraid. They had sponsored me a while ago with new tools which I am still using for most of my projects.. This included! Welcome back my man! Glad to see you joining up for this adventure! /J
  2. Origami An In Win S-Frame project By MetallicAcid With thanks to these following companies: ASUS Intel Kingston In Win SilverStone Bitspower Moddingstylz.de Carplus.se Dremel Nordic Hardware Inet Ocaholic ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark S Hello again to my project! I have some hardware porn coming your way, so NSFW tag is now in place. Thank you for checking out this update, and hope hear what you have to say so far Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  3. GPU is not decided yet.. It depends if KFA2/Galax decide to sponsor with 2xGTX980 HOF, or if they have 980Ti they wish to promote. I have had a lot of contact with their Marketing Director who wants to sponsor but needed to get the OK from his HQ. Otherwise if I don't get the sponsorship, I am not sure what I will use.. /J
  4. In the beginning it was me contacting them, but after 2 years of modding and 8 completed projects, some recently have asked me /J
  5. Well technically it is not for free. In exchange for receiving these products, I advertise their brand and product via photography, and by posting these images on as many sources as possible. Then I have the pressure of building original and standout computers that show off their products. In order to be sponsored, I need to be able to show that I know what I am doing with showing them my back catalogue of modding projects and photography, give a decisive time frame of how long the project will take, and provide an exact plan of what I plan on doing with their products. And then I still might not get their products as modding style doesn't suit their company, or they might not have the budget to provide what I need. All Aboard!! Well after living here for the last 7 years, I practically am Swedus /J

Origami An In Win S-Frame project By MetallicAcid With thanks to these following companies: ASUS Intel Kingston In Win SilverStone Bitspower Moddingstylz.de Carplus.se Dremel Nordic Hardware Inet Ocaholic A small tour of the In Win S-Frame chassis is in order, before I defile it with mods and stuff Best regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  7. Sweet! Thanks man!! Haha! BTW I am an Aussie living in Sweden Thanks mate. Snef's projects are remarkable My ultimate plan worked then... MUHUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA /J
  8. Origami An In Win S-Frame project By MetallicAcid Hello everybody, and welcome to yet another of my modded projects! I would like to introduce you to my project named "Origami" which features the exclusive In Win S-Frame chassis. The name Origami is inspired by the way this single 2m long, 4mm thick aluminium plate has been folded 15 times to give this unique chassis it's form. There is no floor or roof, and tempered glass panels which really set this chassis aside from most all other PC enclosures on the market today. I felt that I would take on the challenge of modding this chassis to enhance its design in typical MetallicAcid style, complete with brushed aluminium panels, and a full custom water cooled loop with hardline tubing. Definition of "Origami" according to Dictionary.com: [awr-i-gah-mee] noun, plural origamis for 2. The traditional Japanese art or technique of folding paper into a variety of decorative or representational forms, as of animals or flowers. Hardware: CPU - Intel Core i7 4790k GPU - 2x ASUS GTX980 Ti Strix 6GB Chassis - In Win S-Frame Motherboard - ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark S PSU - SilverStone ST1200-G Evolution RAM - Kingston HyperX Fury White 1866mhz 16GB (4x4GB) SSD - Kingston Predator PCIE SSD 240GB This project has been made possible by the following companies who have provided their products and services. Thank you for believing in my work, and allowing me to continue doing that which I genuinely love to do!
  9. Awesome to hear. Sounds like I did the mod right then /J
  10. I currently have it hidden away from my daughter so it doesn't get scratches until I enter it into a competition this Thursday. Then I will use it, and it will get scratched etc etc... Awesome to hear! Thanks mate! Thank you Well everyone has their window on the inside these days, so I thought of doing something different I like how it looks! Thank you Feral. I am very pleased with the final result. The Monolith is looking at me with very sad eyes... They both have a special place in my heart Haha. Thank you Cheers mate! And thank you too Blackie! This is the adapter for the LED lighting. I did not connect it up to the power supply as I wish to be able to turn off the LED lighting during the day time as to not attract the kids to the PC. There is no fan controller, so this was my only solution. Thanks! That build log is coming live very soon And thank you d33g33 for the continued support mate! Thank you everyone again for the overwhelming great support and awesome comments. I have had a blast with this modding project, and am about to start the next one using an S-Frame chassis, ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark S with white PCB, SLI 980s and chromed tubed custom water cooling. I hope to see you at the next project! Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  11. MetallicAcid's A modding project made possible by the following contributors: Update 7 The Grand Finalé Hello friends! Today, I update this build log for the last time with the final photos for my Raijintek Metis modding project - Elegance. I would like to give a massive thank you to all of the vendors who have supported this project with their products, but most of all I would like to thank you (Yes you reading this!!) for being here, taking interest and giving feedback during this entire process. Without your help and support, I would not be able to do what I love to do - To create PC art! So without further blabber and fluff, it is with great joy that I present to you the final images of my latest completed project - Elegance by MetallicAcid. Please be sure to check out my Facebook page for my upcoming project, involving an In Win S-Frame chassis, some white PCB hardware, some crafty aluminium panels and chromed water cooling tubing Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  12. Soon Thanks! I bent the window myself by using the vanilla bend that the top panel has as a guide. I clamped down the top part of acrylic under a wooden block and gaffer tape, then heated it with a heat gun, and gave a little downward pressure until it formed after the vanilla bend. Cheers! I torment you with giving the gift of anticipation, otherwise it was over in the blink of an eye then you would not enjoy the project so much Well it may not appeal to everyone, but I like it Also, the original window was a bolt on, so I did this style so the new windows would match the original /J
  13. An honour to read such words, thank you Raul. /J
  14. Hey everyone, Just to let you all know, I am working on the final photos for Elegance. Here is a small teaser This project has also been nominated as MOTM here on Bit Tech, so please head over and cast your vote for Elegance http://www.bit-tech.net/modding/mod-of-the-month/2015/05/07/mod-of-the-month-april-2015/1 With Best regards, Justin
  15. Cheers! Awesome, that's nice to hear thank you Thorium! I do this whenever I look at it I am considering cutting the end and putting sleeve on it. I am worried that I might damage the cable or connector though, and then not have a power cable at all. I have been thinking about this for around 4 weeks now, with this idea just sitting on the backburner... Kind regards, Justin
  16. MetallicAcid's Thank you to my sponsors: Update 6 This was supposed to be the last update, but I accidently thought of more things to fabricate.... Hello and welcome again to Justin's house of madness, where I continue to make my own life difficult and come up with more and more ideas that only prolong the finish date of this modding project!! Haha Every time I look at what I have created so far, I always look and most of the time find more things to do to this project. If I continue like this, I will never be finished! Todays update includes several new features, all hand made and fabricated from 100% recycled materials from my workplace. Not only are they very nice, they are also environmentally friendly! But enough jibber-jabber from me, and onwards with the update. First up we have another custom cable. This time it is a SATA power cable, which is just 7cm long Next up, I fabricated an aluminium plate which blends the Cryorig H7 CPU tower into the overall design I installed the OCZ Arc100 SSD I fabricated a GPU backplate/shroud thingy I am currently working on a backplate which covers the CPU towers support plate, and which will be visible through a windowed side panel. Design that will appear on this panel is not finalized though As work continues, I find myself thinking that I do not want for this project to finish. I am having way too much fun with it Anyways, thank you so much for reading and I hope that you have enjoyed this update. Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  17. Hey mate! Thank you for checking out my project. I am very happy to to hear that you are enjoying it as much as I am! :) /J
  18. Thank you to all for the very nice comments! I am having a blast with this project, and it is actually almost finished. I am currently working on the floor panel, and will start work on the GPU shroud/backplate right after. Then just need to install the SSD and LED lighting and get some shots! @d33g33 I liked the way it looks
  19. MetallicAcid's Thank you to my sponsors: Update 5 Reveal for the custom PSU shroud Sponsor update Custom cables Well hello there friends! I have another large update for you guys, and this time I have the reveal for the custom PSU shroud, the custom sleeved cables, and a sponsor announcement! With this update I would like to introduce Ultimate Personal Computers as a sponsor, who have donated a generous amount of sleeving and extra little bits and pieces needed so I can make my custom length cables look the best in the world. I have actually chosen instead of taking them on their offer as I believe that Adam's Aegis sleeving is the best to work with, and is just as pleasant to work with when I compare them too MDPC sleeving. Next up I have the reveal for the PSU shroud which I have made from Aluminium, and hole mesh. This shroud is made from a single piece of Aluminium, and has been given a brushed finish so that it matches the outside of the chassis. I have also given it a clear coat so that it protects the shroud from oxidization and scratches. There is a hole mesh which has been brushed and clear coated as well. This is to give a nice design feature, but also to allow airflow to the 80mm fan located on the PSU. Now just a little text update on what is coming up in the next update: I am currently working on the floor panel, which will be of the same design as the PSU shroud, and I am also working on a panel which sits beside the motherboard, and behind the PSU shroud. These panels will be installed so that there is almost no visible seems, and give a nice overall classy look to the inside of the chassis. I will soon work on a custom GPU backplate, and a custom panel for behind the motherboard. I will then go ahead and start installing the hardware and wiring up some LED lighting. What do you guys think of the project so far? Please let me know!! I am always trying to think of new and fresh ideas to make my modded projects stand out from everything else in the world! With kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  20. Thank you!! I have made a bent window though for the largest opening. you can see it resting on the chassis at the top of the image column for the window update /J
  21. Thanks! Cheers d33g33 The pedestal is solid, and has a LED light and laser guide. You can also set the depth in case if you do not want to drill all the way through your material. I am very fond of the unsleeved wires as well, and have had them before in my Monolith FT03 project. These have already been sleeved though with some amazing sleeving and bold colour, which I am sure will win you, and most everyone else, over Thank you nchilds, I really hope that you create your own SFF project if you have not already done so! Tent pitching huh? This chassis is all class, with a couple of tiny flaws which do not take away from the overall goodness I might, it depends on the RAM that I use. If Kingston decide to sponsor than I will use just one fan. Thanks for reading guys! /J
  22. MetallicAcid's Thank you to my sponsors: Update 4 Too many mods to specify a title too!!! Hello and welcome! I have been very busy with the Elegance project, trying to wrap things up and get it completed. There are a couple of things left on my list to do, but nothing too major. I am slowly getting around to posting the images up on the net for you guys to see, so bare with me during this process! There are a few things that I have been working on that I would like to show with this update, so in normal fashion I shall name what it is that I have done with a brief description, then reveal the photos of that work. Please enjoy!! Front button modding, making some custom cables which were perfect in length. These have been sleeved, but that is for another update! Next up, I sacrificed an unused GTX780 reference cooler, and reused the aluminium circle from the fan on my Cryorig QF120 CPU tower fan. Stylish I noticed that the inside of the Metis chassis was unbrushed, so I took out the front panel, gave it a brush and clear-coat and reinstalled it. Looks sweet! As much I love the OCZ SSD for it's documented reliability, I love it's aluminium shell even more. So I removed the sticker and gave that a hit with 80grit sandpaper and clear-coat as well! Last but defnitely not least is the massive window modding that I have completed for this project! These two windows give a fantastic view of all of the parts and custom sleeving, and look great to boot! I am really happy to have had you - the community help me with the decision of which design would be the most original and best looking. You guys really know something nice when you see it!! Final reveal of the window mod will be revealed with the final images when the project is completed. Next update will be presented within a week or so, and will feature a new sponsor and some sleeving goodness! Let me know what you think of the project so far, and what I can do to make it even better Thanks for reading, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
