Froger96 got a reaction from Jacob353 in Upgrading my storage to 2 NVME m.2 drives
Depends on the specific motherboard. So boards have two m.2 slots, but are keyed differently (one is for NVME and one for SATA) If that is the case I could get a sata drive as they are cheaper and for the most part you wont know the difference and it will be cheaper/better GB/Per$. (Linus did a video about it)

I mostly agree with this except on storage.
You should really split your storage, I get the budget is tight so you can't do the ideal 3x ssd set up.
But having one nvme ssd for OS/program files/cache. Then another nvme or SATA SSD for the actual assets will make a massive difference. So I would say getting a worse nvme ssd that is 500gb and a 1-2tb SATA SSD would be the best. Having video files on an ssd will make more of a difference to performance than other things with the resolution he is at.
Also, depending on the average length of project 16gb should be fine. But if he is doing long form projects or multicam then more may be needed but this is probably one of the easiest things to upgrade later.
Has he already got back up drives for media copies?
This might be something to budget.
Sadly the market for gpu's is kinda bad so that will eat more of your budget than it really should but I guess it is what it is.

well, you could try and replace the fan, im not sure how easy it would be, because i have never done it before, but it could be as easy as taking the blades of the old one off and replacing it with new ones, too having to take most of the fan apart, i  am sorry but i don't know and i am just imputing ideas...
alternatively, to use the G10, you need a cooler with a round base. the h100i and h100 have square ones, but the h55, h60, h90, along with some more models and different models from other brands... (look on the website) but you will have to add the additional mini heatsinks for the VRAM and what not. it depends, on how much work and effort you want to put into it, and money. if you want to replace the fan and try it that way, then you should make a new thread, if you want to go with the G10, then stick around here.
personally, i am currently unsure about what Faceman said, not because i don't trust him or anyone on the forum, but because i have seen it in rigs before, and i don't remember seeing mini heatsinks on the VRAM or it being mentioned, and i feel that if it is this big of a thing, as i watched the linustechtips and teksyndicate videos on it, and neither of them i remember bringing it up, hence me not being sure about what he said. (and i only watched the videos yesterday)

UPDATE: i watched a video, and the guy pointed out that his VRM gets very hot (around 90c+) on his R9 290X, but that was without any heatsinks, so i don't think it is like, extremely vital, like you can run it without the little heatsinks, but it would be recommended.
but what i am stuck about, is for me, the fan will be hanging off the edge of the GPU probably, not even cooling anything...

hi guys, first of all, i want to say, im not sure if this is something that is ok to be posted here, but i just want peoples opinions on my project for college and how it can be improved to get a better grade.

ok, first of all, i have made a video with some other people advertising forensic science course for my college. the video is limited at 3 minutes. i cant really re film. but i have  most programmes that can help me with editing. cinema 4D premiere after effects. whatever really. now i just want to get some ideas on how this video can be improved, so either post on here or in the comments of the video on what can be improved and please include a time code of when you are referring too and be detail please.
    here is the video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvUOdl0w2Rc&list=UURBE9Pmsk2S2X598ATO9uJg
    thanks for any help.

'loudness' is decided by the rms voltage of the frequency, but can also be limited if the device you are listening to cannot output enough current. I suggest you try buying a headphone amp, this way the only limit is the drivers themselves. Be careful not to blow your headphones though.

A FiiO E6 would be a good option for some volume boost. There's cheaper models too, but don't give you as much volume.

Froger96 reacted to Analog in First Time Overclocking, How Do I Actually Overclock?
Overclocking the FX8320 is the same as the FX8350 (they are basically the same chips anyways) so the process will be exactly the same. Furthermore, 99% of the relevant BIOS settings, used in overclocking, across all 990FX boards have the same names. Just watch a tutorial in YouTube and replicate it. When you achieve the desired clock speed, test it with Prime95 for 2-3 hours with the test - SmallFFTs. If it is stable then try to lower the voltage a bit and check again with the stress test until the system becomes unstable. After that revert to the lowest voltage setting with which your overclock was stable. That is it!

PS: If you do decide to overclock wit the Bus Frequency, pay close attention to your RAM frequency because they are linked and will increase proportionally. You will have to set up manually the ram speed back near its stock frequency.
Also pay close attention to your temps. You can use CoreTemp, RealTemp or AMD Overdrive to do that. If you see processor temps below the ambient temperature that means that the sensor in your board is busted. Unfortunately many of the AMD boards are like that. Lets hope yours is not one of them.

If you have any specific question about a BIOS setting/option or something like that, do not hesitate to ask.

to be honest, with overclocking, the motherboard you use and the CPU you have doesn't really change the method you use (or at least the method i use) for overclocking, you still do it in a similar way, its just finding where things are in the bios is the only difference.

One handed use. For like a quick reply... Larger phones can be a problem... I feel that the tablet and android sizes are coming to close...Oh... I remember when phones screens were about 1" big... Those were the days

A friend showed me this... What do we all think... I'm not sure how accurate this is with the specs... But if I it is accurate... Then I think it is getting a bit out of hand with the ram... Its become more of a spec to show off for people, that dont know... In my opinion... I dont see there being use for more than 2Gb of ram now... Or in the near future...
As for the screen size... I feel that 5.2" and similar with 5" on the nexus... I feel phones are turning into tablets almost... And personally. I dont like that... Phones should be compact...
But... I Havnt seen spec being posted on other pages... So I'm not sure how true they are...

I ask that because, since i'm into hardware (~6 years now i'd say) i've never met any girl on any hardware topics.

Did you know one, or are one?
