  1. I have watched you for years Linus and you have been my favorite youtuber since you was a young buck working for NCIX. I watch and like every single one of your videos and surprisingly even though my wife isn't into tech she likes to watch your videos and especially the WAN Show with you and Slick. Keep up the great work and hope everything keeps going good for LMG.
  2. I think my favorite part of the phone is actually the front facing speaker, but the ips panel is awesome as well. As far as dbrand goes I think they do awesome work, I didn't know they existed though to be honest but I checked out their website and they have something really cool going on! My favorite thing about them is they sponsored my favorite Youtube team.
  3. My favorite thing about the phone is somewhere between the back buttons and the huge screen resolution. I also enjoyed you vacuuming your cat....lol.
  4. I used this: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/win7-windows-7-mbr,10036.html Start at step 4 with a repair disc and just type all the commands like it shows. It worked for me so hopefully it will help you.
  5. Between 4 - 5 playing Pitfall on my Grandpas Commodore 64......lol. I didn't think being 35 was that old but most of your guys answers make me feel old as hell!
  6. Did you check to make sure your bios doesn't need a update? If there is an update for it make sure to do it from the bios utility if there is one instead of windows.
  7. Anyone know how to do this with R9 290x and latest 14-4 AMD drivers?
  8. Did you check your seagate as well? Just because it isn't your OS drive doesn't mean it is not causing the crashes. If that's not it you could try whocrashed http://www.resplendence.com/download/whocrashedSetup.exe and see if your computer has managed to make any dumps on one of those crashes. If it has whocrashed may be able to tell you what is causing it.
  9. First thing I would try is resetting your Modem and router if you have one. While the modem and router are resetting reboot the pc and see if you still have the problem.
  10. It's possible that a prebuilt mobo won't have a way for you to adjust timings or memory speeds so may be best to get a 1333 set to be safe. I have used GSkill in all my computers with no compatability problems. Newegg has these http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007611%2050008476%20600006131%20600006069&IsNodeId=1&name=8GB%20%282%20x%204GB%29&Order=RATING&Pagesize=20 The Ripjaws X set has nice tight timings that should make up for you not being able to use 1600.
  11. Might want to use a program to check your HDD S.M.A.R.T. readings and make sure it isn't failing as well. I usually use Speedfan, here is the dl link from the speedfan site http://www.almico.com/speedfan449.exe I can think of 3 or more times when a computer I worked on that had the non responsive stuff going on was the hard drive not wanting to spin up or just failing. Not sure if a SSD can fail in a way that would cause that but you can check both of them with Speedfan. Is windows taking any longer to boot than normal?
  12. I take it you are outta luck if you have a R9 290X? I tried to install the 12.11 drivers and they don't recognize the newer video card.
  13. I always use WinToolkit: http://www.wincert.net/forum/files/ As soon as you open the program you wil see a button labeled "USB Boot Prep" Then just highlight the USB drive you want to install Windows 7, 8, or even Vista from and click "Full Format". In a few seconds your USB drive is ready and all you have to do is copy the Windows files from your CD or ISO and boot your computer from the USB stick. Hope this helps!
  14. I say both, except for Quadcopters and Airsoft Guns I don't mess with toys but my son watches almost all of the tech videos with me and I am sure if you made a toy / game channel that he and his friends would all like that. I play video games everyday and would be awesome for my favorite subscription to make gaming videos as well! I am sure whatever you decide will be successful, Linus & Slick have unique personalities and LinusTechTips was one of my first subs on Youtube.
  15. Wow thank you for all the quick responses, I actually already have a R9 290x because my 6970 shot sparks out the side of my tower....lol. He wants to play Far Cry 3 and stuff but the 4890 just is getting too old for that. He is not picky thankfully though so it is not necesary that he plays all his games on ultra details but medium to high details and capable of 1080p when I upgrade my screen to 1440p or 1600p would be nice. His current cpu is the Phenom II 940 and he has 4GB DDR2.
