  1. All slots show a stick of RAM in my bios settings. They're all running at 888mhz
  2. Hello, thanks for your reply. I have just updated the bios as per your suggestion. Still hasn't changed anything. I've also tried your second suggestion too.
  3. Hello, So I've been wracking my brain for the past few hours trying to figure this one out. For context: I was previously running my PC using 2x8gb sticks of RAM in my MOBO (MSI B85-G43 Gaming). As this was my first build, I stupidly added another single stick of 4gb RAM to my system at a later date, as I was given it by a friend - I thought nothing of it at the time. Years pass. Only now, since my PC has started running more slowly, I have been looking into new parts and refreshing myself on hardware that I discovered that for all this time my RAM would have been matching the speed of the slowest stick (4gb). So, I purchased 2 x 8gb sticks of RAM this week, the exact same as the originals (Kingston Hyper X Fury DDR3 1866MHZ) to solve this issue, in the attempt to speed up my system and give it more longevity. Before replacing, I checked the performance of the RAM: the system was only detecting 12gb of DDR3. With only 7.9gb available. Awful. This morning, I took out the 4gb stick and replaced with the new sticks. Which I thought would solve my issue, but has actually caused more problems than to begin with. Once I completed the installation, the computer booted. And I went from having the aforementioned 12gb of available RAM to 16gb available. To clarify, this should be 32gb available. As I now have 4x8gb DDR3 Kingston Hyper X Fury. Confused, I started with some software fix attempts. Starting with MSCONFIG, Advanced options, and attempted to increased the bandwidth of the RAM. This failed, and would only go as high as 16gb in total. Following that, I attempted some hardware problem solving. So I removed some sticks - trying to figure out whether the new RAM I had purchased was actually faulty. Then my PC stopped booting. I restored the BIOS to factory settings, but this didn't solve anything. At this point, I just wanted to diagnose as to whether there was a faulty stick of RAM, so I tried all of the different combinations to see if the RAM or the port was faulty. None of those were true. Each RAM and slot work, as they appear in my bios board explorer. I also checked under the OC section on the bios and they're all appearing in the correct DIMM1-4 slots. However, here they also only show up as 888hz each - which would explain why the total is maxing out at 16gb. I fixed the boot error, by installing wiping my OC and installing a new version, keeping my files. But removing apps and settings. As this was the only fix I could find. (This was a separate issue I encountered for the day. Nightmare. But solved now at least) This leaves me with one question: how the hell am I supposed to get these sticks running at the correct speed/capacity then? So, here are the solutions I have tried so far. Software: - double checked I am running a 64 version of windows, and that my MOBO is capable of 32gb RAM. Both of these are correct. - tried running msconfig and expanding bandwidth. BIOS: - I have searched high and low for the XMP option. Not Available. - In the OC settings, I changed DRAM frequency to DDR3-1600mhz (the highest option). No luck. - Tried to find the setting for memory remapping. Still no luck. Hardware: - I reset the CMOS on the MOBO with a screwdriver and the two pins on the instruction manual. I feel like I'm running out of options, but I'm worried there's probably an easy fix that I'm overlooking. Would be great to keep my trusty first build running for as long as possible. I'm worried that installing that slow 4gb stick all that time ago has caused a change in the system of some sort, which is why they're all appearing as 4gb instead of 8. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  4. Thanks for this! Really appreciate it,
  5. Thanks for taking the time to reply ! Much appreciated.
  6. Haha so just about everything then ? Ideally, I was only looking to spend around £300
  7. Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my girlfriends current PC set up. She's a twitch streamer (P3achybuns) and loves playing games on stream. Unfortunately, her current set up can be a bit awkward with games like Two Point Hospital or Planet Coaster / Zoo - which she loves to play. I would like to spend the money in the right area to make sure we can get the most out of the build and hopefully stop any of the current glitches she has whilst streaming and playing certain games. What would you suggest to upgrade on this build? Any suggestions appreciated!
  8. So I’ve just hooked up my USB turntable with the intention of sampling through to my Akai MPC Renaissance. My current path looks like this: AUDIO-TECHNICA > through to pc (via USB) > PC > USB stereo converter > AV receiver > L+R channel speakers. Then my MPC is also hooked up via USB > PC. So everything is connected up properly and everything is working, however, I can’t get rid of this really annoying, headache inducing hum. When I mess around with the Sample Rate and Audio Buffer Size on the MPC settings, I can reduce the hum but not completely eradicate it. I’ve replaced the wires, but the problem has continued. I fear this is most likely a gain staging issue – I’m not really sure how to fix this. Has anyone else got a similar set up to this? Or know any way to fix? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
  9. You are a legend. Thank you.
  10. Thanks for the fast reply! I'm trying to get it all done before the 29th - his birthday. So, time is very much of the essence. I agree I should probably get a better screen but I'm trying to work my best within the budget I've been given. Have you seen any 144hz monitors around this price range? I'll also have a look into bigger PSU's now, thanks!
  11. Building a PC for my cousin for £1200 budget. Let me know what you think!
  12. I've managed to solve the problem, thankyou everyone, I appreciate you!
  13. I'd like to consolidate these two under the same bracket. How do I do it?
  14. It won't let me delete the 527 or expand the 110, I'm lost
