but the adapter works fine in my computer cause i can auto connect to my 5.0Ghz

hello,a friend of me contacted me about suddenly not finding his 5.0Ghz channel anymore.his laptop, mobile phone etc all can connect with the 5.0Ghz except his desktop.he always was connected to 5.0Ghz and he did not change any configuration of it.i took his NIC to my place and connected it with my computer and i can find the 5.0Ghz.i do have a different ISP but i think the ISP is not the problem here. from my point of viewbut i dont have that much knowledge of networking.maybe the 5.0Ghz cirquit on the PCEslot on the motherboard may be faulty?anyway, the NIC can see the 5.0Ghz but just cant connect, it tries to but then just picks the 2.4Ghz without anyerror message or anything.he has the ASUS pce-ac68if u need more info about this problem feel free to ask me.greetz
