danomicar got a reaction from Sureshadow in Razer Customer Service.....
That's absurd. What an utter failure of Razer's customer service system. How the heck does a single ticket get answered by a different person nearly every reply?
Razer: "We take our customer service very seriously"

You should be fine. I use 25ft cables for my simracing rig. I was worried about latency too but I have not had any issues.

danomicar reacted to RokinAmerica in UPDATE: One Drive is down and has been for at least an hour. Slowly being brought back online.
This is like watching mainstream media. The conclusions one can jump to. With no actual sources or verification, just the same old disclaimer "It could be possible", or "Someone told me".
Fan the flames without accepting any responsibility. So common now.

danomicar reacted to sloppy_ in LTT screwdriver wall mount
Not sure if this is the right section for this post, sorry in advance.
Anyways!
I've noticed there are not many 3d prints related to the LTT Screwdriver,
and I was having trouble finding the perfect spot for my tool as
its not always in use.
So when in doubt, wall mount it!
just a simple wall mount that the tool clips into so you can show it off while not in use.

danomicar got a reaction from RockSolid1106 in Charger to stop charging automatically
You should only use batteries as they were intended. They are intended to charge to 100% each time for a reason. Charging them less is silly and will definitely REDUCE the lifespan of your batteries.
Just a note, your device is able to stop charging once the battery reaches 100%. Why would you want the charger to do that?

danomicar reacted to person123456789 in High Quality Earbuds or Headphones over USB
you do need a dac amp to get audio over usb but that $10 converter is also a dac amp and will work perfectly fine with a lot of headphones. only the headphones that suck a lot of power need a more powerful dac amp. if you use IEMs, you don't need a dedicated dac amp as your current converter should be good enough due to the efficiency of modern IEMs and dac amps

I can personally recommend the Steinberg UR12, I payed about 60 for a used one and it's been doing great. Another option might be a pair of HyperX Cloud IIs, they come with a USB to AUX dongle from what I remember.

Id recommend the beyerdynamic dt 770 pro (150-160 usd) and a usb dac/amp (Id recommend something in the 50-100 dollar range)

danomicar reacted to Minecraftchest1 in Unoffical LTT pumpkin
My youth grouo had a pumpkin carving activity today. When I was deciding what to carve, the first thought I had was the LTT logo. I freehanded it on paper, using a portion of a paper plate as a template for a circle.
What do you think. I challane others to do better.

If you're willing to spend six figures, you should be working with a local consultant who can manage a project of this scale, rather than waste your time here.

Pragmatism to me is akin to not arguing with someone, even if you are correct, in order to not deal with the negative externalities of having an argument.

danomicar got a reaction from An0maly_76 in PSU Capacitor Exploded - Cause?
Thanks for the informative reply.
I agree that it's most likely just a crappy power supply in my pre-built iBUYPOWER system. It was under heavy load at the time but has certainly held up to 24+ hours of holding similar loads for the 3 years ive owned it.
Definitely a nail in the coffin for any potential pre-built systems - would much prefer to know exactly what I'm running.

danomicar reacted to Beerbuddy in You don't get a warrantee because Linus might die at an inconvenient time
You finally get it. Warranties are a joke! A good company with good intentions will fix issues with their products within a reasonable timeframe regardless of a warranty. Warranties are nothing more than a marketing campaign. Most written by lawyers with so many complexities they can deny your claim for any reason if they want. They are a joke.

danomicar reacted to Spotty in PSU Capacitor Exploded - Cause?
The NTC thermistor is used on the primary side (AC input) to limit inrush current spikes. I'm not entirely sure what would have caused it to blow open like that. The good news is at least since it is on the primary side that means it's unlikely the rest of the system was damaged.
Good lesson not to cheap out on power supplies I guess.

danomicar reacted to Spotty in PSU Capacitor Exploded - Cause?
Can you post a photo of the label on the power supply so we can see what model it is. Also a photo of the part that exploded and is currently lodged in the fan blades with the text on it visible. I might be wrong but i think that looks more like a NTC thermistor, would need to know what the text printed on it says. From that angle it looks like it might say [N]TC.. 15
Was the system under load when it failed? How long was it on for? Did you just turn it on? Any power surges like a lightning storm?

But if I drank beer, I'd prefer Samuel Jackson beer...

Believe me, I was holding my breath when I pressed the power button again. Backing up the most important documents as we speak.
I had been looking for a reason to invest in an upgrade, but not like this! lol
