This is something that has been really bugging me recently and I can't seem to find any help what so ever so I hope someone here could help me. Recently I upgraded my GPU from a 1070 to a 1080 ti and was hoping for some good (realistic) performance boosts. What I've now noticed is that I could, for example, have 70 fps in a game but still only have 40% GPU usage and 50% CPU usage. I have instances where I would turn around fast in a game or enter an area with many particle effects which would give FPS drops but the CPU and GPU usage would more or less stay constant or even DROP. If I still have CPU and GPU usage to spare, why would it not utilize that and give me increased fps??? I play on a 144hz monitor and I want to reach those high frames. It really infuriates me when I'm dipping in the 40:s sometimes even though there is still GPU usage to spare. How do I fix this issue? The amount the card is limited by should be fixed by the amount of frames it can produce. If it has more available usage, why does it not use it to give me more frames? I'm thinking it might have something to do either with my ram, my motherboard or my CPU but I have no idea how to isolate the issue. I would upgrade to these three if I'm going to upgrade anything: Motherboard + cpu (upgrade pack I found) ASUS ROG STRIX X470-F Gaming + AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Ram (I like rgb) G.Skill Trident Z RGB Series 2x8gb 3200MHz (ddr4 of course) If anyone could help me I would be so grateful because this has been bugging me for a long while now. I'm a computer enthusiast and I've decided that I want to create a plan of a absolute beast computer that will serve me good for years and be able to both edit, render and game with super high performance and quality. I have not even touched it yet. I bought it for a 980 ti but I never went through with that purchase to the fullest so now I have the PSU just laying here. I can sell this for a better PSU that better meets the power requierments for the more power efficient GTX 1080. I can go above and below price but not by that much. I currently live in sweden but the price tag is about $2100 I would think. I already have two monitors and thats what I'm going to keep playing with. I also have a Vive and this computer should make the experience really really smooth. I'm upgrading because I want to have the most beast computer there is but still not spending super crazy money like buying an Intel i7-6950x Extream edition or the new Titan XP. If you think I should switch out any parts or if there are some parts that are not compatible with one another then please tell me Thanks in advance!

I never noticed these before and I dont think they should start up as my computer starts... or maybe its normal, idk. I start up with 125 processes. Doesnt seem normal.

Well its not at 100% anymore. Right now its stable running at around 15% average but there are still 136 open processes...

Hey guys... I have a big problem with my cpu and my computer that I noticed like two hours ago. So... about two hours ago I noticed that my CPU was running at 100%. This was going on for 15 minutes and meanwhile it was running at 100% the computer was launching a but load of programs. Didnt pop up on my screen but it defninitely showed up on my task manager in the processes tab. I took a screencap of the status of my cpu: http://imgur.com/Yk1nhko That says processes, threads and, references. I restarted my computer and now the cpu wasnt at 100% anymore put I still had 120 processes going on in the background. I have tried restarting it again and this is still happening. I have no idea what to do. I dont want 100 processes running that I didnt even start.

Why would you want that though? Lol

Hello! I just saw this video: I followed all of the steps and my 1080p monitor is running at 1440p now but it doesnt look crisp at all, it looks blurry. I guess its because of course my monitor doesnt have the same ammount of pixels as 1440p does and that might create this effect when its trying to adapt to these settings. Its only the desktop that looks blurry though. Just tried witcher 3 with 1440p and it looks amazing but I also want to desktop to be crisp. Is there any way to turn on AA in the desktop XD? Is it even possible? Thankful for answers

Ok so this didnt work at all. It just said it couldnt proceed with the refresh and now we are back to the black screen with the mouse. I guess I'll have to take this computer to a professional or something. I dont think the waranty will cover the computer if I open it.

I have this really old computer that is becoming extreamly slow. I wanted to know if the amd fx-6300 is compatible with the mobo that the computer has. I dont know much about this and when I searched for an answer I only got presented with a lot of advanced stuff that I dont feel like learning right now Thank you for your help.

Ok so apparently, it kind of works now. I tried restarting it like 5 times more and then I removed the power cable and some other stuff and it started repairing the C drive. After this it asked me if I wanted to restart the computer or if I wanted to boot it up with advanced options. I picked advanced options because I wanted to get to the option to start it in safe mode. I tried that and I chose the option to do it but I still got the same problem. Black screen with only mouse. Now I tried restarting it again and it told me to wait and later booted me up to ask me if I wanted to refresh or reset or just reboot my computer. I decided to refresh the computer because it said that it would not remove any personal files but only applications and that it would reset the settings to default. I really hope this wont delete any documents that were made in word because then its pretty much lost. The computer is currently refreshing and its at 9% right now. Was this a good choise?
