  1. Update: I turned off a background app for my logitech mouse and keyboard that seemed to improve performance. Also i updated Lightroom to the version that was just released and also seems to improved performance for this issue. Thanks for the help.
  2. I had saw some sites that say Lightroom has performance issues with 30 inch monitors at 4 k resolution. Was hoping it was something else as I like the real estate provided by the higher resolution and did not want to go to lower resolution. The other sites recommended zooming in while using a brush tool. Any suggestions?
  3. I generate 1:1 previews for the images I am editing and have done the tips recommended in other forums to improve performance. I removed un needed Lightroom previews and smart previews Turned off mobile sync increased cache size. Etc. Catalog size shows 9505 images. Total catalog size 272.05 MB. Total preview cache size is 10 gb. Medium quality at 3840px resolution. Smart previews are 422 MB. I I turned off automatically update XMP. i have lightroom cc and I am using a dell 27 monitor at 4K resolution.
  4. I just completed a PC build to replace my 2010 dell laptop. I was focused on building a PC that would perform great for Photoshop and Lightroom my new PC has the following i7 6700k overclocked to 4.4 ghz 64gb gskills ripjaws 5 ram ddr4 gigabyte SOC force z170 MB dual m.2 Samsung 950 pros in RAID 0 total of 1 TB samsung 850 ssd 1TB evga 970 ftw+ GPU nocturnal nh15 evga 850 psu win 10 home. When using Lightroom to edit photos in develop module my new PC takes sometimes seconds to update the image to the current version. And when using a brush the updates lag dramatically. During this time my GPU and Processor are not even at full load ????? What at is causing such poor performance? My new system has great benchmarks in cinebench ,other benchmark systems, and in Photoshop
