try downloading called space sniffer and see what is eating up your storage.

It's possible something is downloading or making logs perhaps automatically and eating up your storage.

Space sniffer allows you to see what is taking up your storage. and it's small to install even with your 6GB

perhaps you might have system restore on and you forgot to tune it to a smaller percentage like 1%.

It's back up. Now that they released the 25th anniversary update.  You can get it for free now, plus a nice new major update alongside a 25th Anniversary documentary

If you don't have it already the original (non-botched) version of Half Life is free for taking on steam.

Windows has been able to update UEFI BIOS' since W8. It was just manufacturers that were lazy. OPs issue seems like an memory training related error which can pop up after bios updates.

What would be the thing mobile app gives that mobile browsing doesn't? For most it has been notifications, but those depend on your chosen browser.

Backups don't neccessarily need to be on external media. You can have backups on your computer's internal drives which get powered virtually every day. You could even store backups on cloud services if thats your thing. I have backups on an SSD but I refresh those backups often enough to not worry about data rotting. At the end of the day its up to you what you want to do.

How would a better controller make it faster, if this is already the expected speed for this sort of drive?
Ideally you keep multiple copies, so the failure of one doesn't mean your data is gone. But realistically I don't do that either with my files, so I get wanting to stick to spinners as they're easier to recover. Best you can do is enterprise 3.5" HDDs, I believe those can do 220-260MB/s sustained (would need to check, they're tuned via firmware for different loads, NAS/Surveillance/Server use etc), that + a powered USB enclosure would be the fastest you could get an external drive to be without using a very expensive RAID enclosure or moving to SSD.

You're not limited by the enclosure, rather the HDD itself because its an HDD.

All storage mediums are "risky" as they have a timespan of operation before they inevitably degrade or stop working, applies to both HDDs and SSDs. This is why you always have backups at all times.

120-130MB/s sounds like what you can expect out of a small HDD. It being faster at the start is likely just filling the cache, thus the drop to the actual speed of the drive afterwards. Get a fast SSD (slow SSDs will do the same thing, drop speed massively once they run out of cache) if you want higher sustained speeds.

I'm not sure what you've done to come to that screenshot but heres what I would do from the beginning.

First use the ribbon disabler which should bring back the old command bar and then use this tutorial to "remove" the command bar.

yes its an "issue" with ryzen,  but only for idle frequencies.

Ryzen master seems to be the only one to recognize it correctly and also display correctly.  should be around 200mhz idle, right?

idk i never use ryzen master,  i don't like it... and idc about idle frequencies,  temps are enough to know it's "idle"

Yeah not all software is going to be able to read that. In those cases, they'll be closer to reality under heavy load but idle/low load situations is where they kind of fall apart.

This all seems pretty typical for Ryzen, actually. This question comes up a lot. Where you're going to see *true* clockspeed is in Ryzen Master and "Effective Clocks" in HWiNFO.

I have a 5700X myself and don't have this issue,
It could be a bug with your BIOS.
