Once upon a time I bought a 1440p monitor and tried to use it alongside 2 other 1080p monitors. I hate it and the scaling and the per application nonsense with the UI blurring or text looking weird... just no. I don't want to move away from 1080p ever. Higher resolutions to me are just 1080p but everything is smaller.

Yeah I can see that happening too. Guess its a bit too much lol. Plus the detail in the background is really making it hard to optimize down to a better size. Did you design this? Maybe making the main loop smaller or background scroll faster can lower the amount of frames.

You can use APNG. GIF is an awful format especially at this resolution.

My ultrawide monitor (LG 29UM68) is almost 7 years old! I was looking at whats on the market and im kinda shocked theres very little 29'' ultrawide 1080p panels. There isnt much to choose from should my current die. Might need to get it repaired if it ever decides to fail on me. And ofc i must point out I dont want anything bigger or 1440p, its pointless for me since all my monitors are 1080p and upgrading all of them or having mismatched resolutions... please no.

When I went from 1080p at 24" to 1080p at 27", I really disliked the experience. Hence, I got a 1440p display instead.
And yes, mismatched resolutions are absolute ass in Windows. But, I'm pretty sure that's a Windows problem. Microsoft COULD make it reasonable and awesome, but they just won't.
