Based on your particular usage, I would recommend the i7. It has hyperthreading technology perfect for the applications that you've stated. Furthermore, the i7 has a higher clock speed right off the bat (stock settings) and it will truly benefit you. 

As above, it's a small phone considering it has a 5.5" display, it's nowhere near as big as some other 5.5" phones, such as the iPhone 6/6S Plus.

Even if you manage to hide what you're doing on their connection (a key point here), I don't think you'll be able to hide when you're doing it. They'll still know that you're up at 1AM (or any other time), messing about on the internet. 
 
 

My advice is pay more attention on your schooling, if you work really hard you might be able to graduate early and be able to buy your own internet. Trying to bypass restrictions put in place on a network you do not own or pay for is a REALLY bad idea. Unless your goal is to get kicked out of said school, then that might work and then you'll be free of said restrictions.

He got defensive because he probably enjoys the LMG content as much as the rest of us and your title was #TwitchSellout, which correct me if I'm wrong, has implications associated to it. If it wasn't meant to, then you worded it horribly.

Yeah, it'll definitely work. A normal USB port is no different to an internal USB header, aside from being a physically different connector.

If you don´t need cuda, and power doesn´t cost alot where you live, 390 easily.

It turns drives off after they've been inactive for "X" number of minutes. The laptop I'm typing on now has a 120GB SSD as a boot drive (which is obviously working) and a 750GB mechanical drive where the blu-ray drive used to be. The mechanical drive is currently silent as it's not being used for anything, it only spins up when I access it and then it turns off after 2 minutes of inactivity.

I too understand your PoV. If you don't value early uploads, there's absolutely no point in using, and certainly not paying to use, Vessel. 
 
What financial arrangement LMG and Vessel have, I don't know. If it's not good for LMG, that is, to be blunt, their problem. 
 
I guess whether someone is well off or not depends entirely on how well off you are in comparison. I'm not poor, but unless it's very cheap to live in Canada, Linus and his family are almost certainly better off than myself. He's also mentioned in the past that he pays his staff well, so I guess they're not doing too badly for themselves, either.  

It's probably easier with a USB stick, there's a tool available on MS's website called the "Media Creation Tool", download it and follow the (very easy) instructions. That said, if your HDD is dying, it's probably best to sort that first, you don't want to stress it with reinstalling an OS, unless everything important is backed up and you don't mind it totally dying mid-operation.

Nah, being annoyed by a loud PC is very understandable, I've been working towards silencing my PC (as much as possible) for a while now. 
 
An SSD is obviously the best choice, but high capacity SSDs, even low end ones, do come with a hefty premium. 
 
I'd go SSD, but a SATA to USB adapter is another option if it's a drive you don't need to access too often and your PC is within arm's reach.
