At 1080p everything will work properly, so ryzen it is then. Thank you!

most if not all triple A games will only need 2.5 to 3Gb of VRam you only need more than 3 if you plan to go to 1440p and 4k

Wow, this is one of the most complete threads I've stumbled upon. You fully explained what you need, what you use, when you need it... +1 for that.
-Now for the PC, personally great choice. Only thing I'd maybe do is get an NZXT Kraken x61 instead of the 100i for a more stable temperature at a higher overclock, and I'm not sure if you need 64gb. I'm working in Unreal Engine 4 and ZBrush, along with Sony vegas, Adobe after effects.... And my 32gb handle it pretty well in quad channel.
-For gaming, don't worry that beast will play anything you throw at it.
-And finally if you're looking for a monitor, look for a 4k maybe if the money is okay. The GTX 1080 + you as a  permaculture designer + a 4k monitor will do wonders, but they don't come cheap so keep that in mind!

    Good luck!

Hi guys and girls! Thank you all for such a nice helpful forum. I have been browsing through other threads and found out what a nice place this is!
Here is what I am looking at in my new PC build :
    Location and Budget :
I am from Hyderabad, India. My budget is around 3,500 USD (or 2.5 lakhs) Bringing it down to 3000 $ would be great though, but I am not seeing how.
    Aim :
My aim with this PC build is to build a computer for some heavy video editing, 3d work and some gaming.  I am a Permaculture Designer, teacher and a consultant. I plan to release an online course on permaculture, which will contain videos of lectures and many DIY sustainable technologies and practices. The content is something like 400 hours of 1080p video. Each video will typically be half an hour to 2 hours long, edited from a lot of files, with pictures, etc. Lots of color correction, audio post processing etc., also might end up happening.  I plan to edit all of that on my new system, plus some after effects work and photoshop work, along with a few renders in blender 3d. My previous profession was 3d animation, and I am looking to revamp that in the latter part of next year. Also, I will be editing huge banners to be printed for various events, so I have to work with huge files in photoshop.
The place I stay is quite hot (up to 48 degrees C in summers) and even though I have an air conditioner, if I set it to anywhere below 25 degrees, I end up catching cold. So, heat is an issue I have to deal with in my build. Dust is another. My house is right by the side of a busy road, and lots of dust ends up here. I would like to dust proof my pc as much as possible with possibilities to clean.
Software I use prominently : Da Vinci Resolve, Adobe creative suite (I already have subscription) and Blender 3d.
Games : Total War Series, Civilization, Bradman Cricket 14, and other strategy games mainly. Although occasional driving games.
    Monitors :
I already have a 27 inch monitor that is 1080 p. I am looking into buying another one for my editing set up. I do not know the model of my monitor (since im typing this on my laptop away from home) and dont know which one to pick.
    Peripherals :
I already have the keyboard, mouse, graphics tablet, headphones and speakers that I love. No need to buy any new versions of those.
    Reason for upgrading :
My last build of a pc was in 2006 when I built a dual CPU system with Athlons and a tyan tiger mother board. After 2008, I moved away from my animation career, so laptops were sufficient for me. Now, I am using a hp pavilion dv6 i7 version with geforce GT 630M processor. The laptop is heating up and getting cranky (been using it for 4 years) and also not quite powerful for my editing needs. Takes too long to render to make it viable too.
Also, most importantly, I am not looking at any major upgrades (other than RAM and may be adding another card in SLI two years down the line) for another 3 years.
After looking at a lot of videos (binge watched for the past 5 days) and looking up websites, I came up with this following set up (newegg, hardwire.in and pcpartpicker)

    CPU : Intel i7 6800k
    CPU cooler : Corsair H100i
Motherboard : Asus X99 Deluxe ii
RAM : Gskillz Trident series 64 GB 3200 ghz RAM (25600 pc4) 4 sticks of 16 gb for quad channel
Graphics Card : MSI GTX 1080 Sea Hawk X (for future SLI possibilities buying another one cheap later next year)
    PSU : Corsair Hx 1000i
    Storage :
    Samsung 950 Pro M.2 512 MB,
    Samsung 850 EVO 1TB,
    Toshiba X300 4TB (dual Raid 0)
Cabinet : Cooler Master HAF XB EVO
    O.S : Windows 10 Pro

The above might look like (as linus says) selecting the top choice by filtering with 'highest price'..  But after watching quite a few 'benchmark' videos, I could not bring myself down much. And I do want to overclock.
Did I miss any crucial parts? Also I have no idea about how to select specialized fans for the cabinet. Also, I am not at all concerned with looks. Only performance for a long long time to come.
I was binge watching a lot of videos on hardware and build logs, etc., for the past four days. So, let me go back and watch a few more as I wait for your replies.
Any suggestions, corrections, component swaps suggested are welcome both for performance boosts and to cut down prices.
    Thank you all in advance.
    Cheers!
    DJ

P.S.  I can wait till Sept 30th if you guys think the prices will come down a lot. I need my system ready by October 10th at the latest.

I am justi going to say that it would have been better if you just got the 6800k, because you won't see any difference unless you go sli/crossfire/multiple pci stuff. But if you're going to get another 1080 and maybe another m.2, then it's worth it.

Zeinone reacted to manikyath in Learning how to hack?
    you dont "learn to hack"

"hacking" is a talent, it is a talent of taking a piece of software or hardware, and make it do things not intended. the term "hacking" basicly means finding a solution to a problem that is not within current accepted norms.

example: i needed to charge a lithium cell but had no charger, the "accepted norm" would be to just suck it up and buy a charger, the "hack" would be doing this:

the way you get into (not using the word "learn" here) hacking is by just being in an area of expertise, and taking some moments of spare time here and there to experiment with things that shouldnt be experimented with.

you dont "learn how to find the heartbleed bug", you sit down on a quiet afternoon and send random crap to a database until suddenly it spurts out tons of data, making you go "oh, thats funny".

TL:DR if you want to be a "hacker" its just a matter of getting really good at the area of expertise you want to "be a hacker" in, and spend time finding quirks and funky ways to do things.
