rm -rf reacted to LinusTech in Why are images not allowed in signatures?
It's not going to happen because I don't like scrolling past them. I find them distracting.

The normal school laptops we get in year 7 have an i3, 4GB RAM, and Windows 8.1
The laptop you get in year 9 if your computer happens to... not work anymore... has an i5, 8GB RAM, and Windows 10.
I've convinced three people that I downloaded RAM from: http://www.downloadmoreram.com/
All of them then tried to download more RAM...

rm -rf got a reaction from RWG in The GTX 1080Ti to be released at CES in 2017
The awaited GTX 1080 Ti is to be released at CES in January next year, and will be more powerful than the Titan XP.
Compared to GTX 1080
This is 1.5x the GDDR5X of the GTX 1080
Although it has a lower boost clock than the GTX 1080, it has 1.3x CUDA cores
Compared to GTX Titan XP
The same amount of GDDR5X as the Titan XP
93% the amount of CUDA cores as the Titan XP
1.1x the boost clock of the Titan XP

rm -rf got a reaction from Lubi97 in New PC in December
"it's not like I'll be editing 4K Footage" vs "I'll probably end up using this PC for the next 10-15 years"
CPU: Ummmm.... yeah, it'll bottleneck.
Memory: A high end build like this... for editing...
Headphones: I'm not talking about the aesthetics of the headphones, I'm talking about the quality.
Mobo: Being against a certain brand without reasoning...
And also, back to that earlier statement: "I'll probably end up using this PC for the next 10-15 years."
Things that existed 15 years ago:
1. Windows ME (Mistake Edition)
2. Windows XP was soon to be created
3. The beginning or DDR2
4. George W. Bush was president
5. You didn't exist
6. Pentium 4 Extreme Edition is what you'd be using
Have I made my point?

Oh i have a good one,
this guy was playing battlefield 4, he said he loves this 30 fps as thats the most he would ever need and how the close distance fog makes his game look realistic.
Also saying he has converted his 1080p gaming to 4K using his new 4K tv and how his system is better because a titan has 12gb and his system has 500gb
bloody console peasants amiright?

So, I have this non-techie friend, who claimed to have 64 GB of RAM. When I checked, it was 4 Gigs. And then he points at the 64- bit OS, and, he's like, "Told ya!"

rm -rf got a reaction from Tamesh16 in Will PC building eventually end?
I don't think it will end, there's just too much money that enthusiasts are willing to spend on building their own high-end computers.

Building a laptop used to be easy, you might be able to find an old shell from back in the good ol' days.

It has a 90W PSU?
Run a lighter OS
Use Cortex:Game Boost - http://www.razerzone.com/cortex/boost
Don't run an anti-virus
Lower your settings
Get a light texture pack (is that a thing in GMOD?)
Move to Antarctica so you can stop thermal throttling
Make yourself a cup of tea and relax, patience is a virtue.

rm -rf got a reaction from ShadowCaptain in Introducing "Google". The successor to "Google Now"
I've signed up for the Google Hero Program, though I'm slightly worried that the Google Hero Program will hurt the Googlers too much, and cause a rift in Google.
