  1. Yeah. Not op. I personally have all workday the same window layout. So I'd expect "a seam" to form in the middle of my display. Because that is where the window border goes from nine to five every working day.
  2. I wouldn't buy Oled for the reason you do work on your computer and there is a real risk of burn in. I know it's the best in terms of picture quality, but I'd still find something else.
  3. I can give you my opinion, which is on the desk, mainly because for me the the airflow is most important aspect. That said, you have to figure out what are your priorities. Is it more important to have great and aesthetic look or easy cable management, or something else.
  4. I know this doesn't help, but this reminds me about how Linus got really bad advice for his phone from this forum. Personally I'd go something really boring. Like any Samsung that fits your budget for example.
  5. The reason why they do it is that they can get away with that. If they were able to do that in 1970's they would have. If the were able to do that in the 1870's... wait that is exactly what they did then. Corporate structure has always been aimed at maximizing profit.
  6. Reminds me of "Prices are high because companies are greedy". Don't get me wrong companies are greedy, but they have been greedy for past 500 years, so the argument that something is more expensive now than five years ago does have nothing to do with the corporate greed.
  7. Yeah. I admit that when I was trouble shooting an issue I just grabbed the next tool and didn't understand what Windows Task Manager was showing. At that point I was more interested of the clocks in a single core, for which I should have used other tools, right?
  8. I've given up trying to get meaningful information out of the Windows Task Manager regarding the Ryzen CPUs. Both ones that I've had, had the same issue. It doesn't seem to even correlate much with the workload. I've used ryzen master to check things. hwinfo64 could be a good chose as well. I'd also be interested in know what the Windows task manager is showing and why it seems to work somewhat differently with Intel CPUs
  9. The timing could be just coincidence. Non the less it sounds like your GPU is indeed dying.
  10. Seems like a very weird problem. I'm afraid I'm not able to help much. Have you tried using your old monitor? Can you possibly try using your new monitor with another computer (borrow somewhere or something)
  11. I don't believe this article fully, but since we are speculating on the topic: https://www.reuters.com/technology/sam-altmans-ouster-openai-was-precipitated-by-letter-board-about-ai-breakthrough-2023-11-22/ Ahead of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s four days in exile, several staff researchers wrote a letter to the board of directors warning of a powerful artificial intelligence discovery that they said could threaten humanity, two people familiar with the matter told Reuters. Some at OpenAI believe Q* (pronounced Q-Star) could be a breakthrough in the startup's search for what's known as artificial general intelligence (AGI), one of the people told Reuters. OpenAI defines AGI as autonomous systems that surpass humans in most economically valuable tasks.
  12. I mean. It'd be mainly about drama. Just like the facebook movie.. The Social Network (2010). But yeah. This smell like there are bunch of mistakes and a metric ton of hurt feelings.
  13. I agree. Too big and in too many places. Silver lining is that when MS, Amazon, Alphabet and others try to keep growing they have to compete with each other. More competition is always better. The big tech has been growing in their own segments without too much real competition that cannot be bought off. Still. I'd rather see smaller companies. Microsoft has three to four times the revenue that the country I happen to live in.
