I'd just use the hardware encoding from the recording chip on the 960... Not as good as good CPU encoding, but really good for performance, or else just get a better CPU yes.

The only people that care are insecure neckbeards who think bashing either side will make them feel good, and guess what? It probably does. Sane and logical consumers (read: everyone outside of this forum, because this forum is roughly the 0.01% of the actual market) don't care.

They spend their money how they see fit, where they see fit.

Do you clowns make fun of people who buy 10 million dollar homes and say "Well, you could've saved 60% and gotten a home thats got even more rooms and even more space". Do you clowns make fun of people who buy 100k cars for commuting even though a 15k econobox does the same thing?

Do you realize how stupid your 'arguments' would sound in real life? You try to judge people on how they spend their own money and then try and 'mock' them for it or label them as 'fanboys'.

I have a Mac laptop, a built by my hands desktop, I use Windows Phone and have an Android tablet. I game across 3 platforms and I even own a honest to god mechanical watch to check the time and date. Some of you probably just blew your brains reading that because you're too stubborn to comprehend that some people have no problem using everything and some people just don't care about what is "better".

I'll always buy whatever makes the most sense to me. Could be Mac, could be HP, could be Sony, could be motherfucking Voodoo. Whatever works, works and sometimes you pay for ease of use and after sales support, kinda like on IBMs/Lenovos. Their hardware isn't much to write home about, you're paying for after sales support the likes of which we rarely see. You're paying for the longevity and validation, to whatever extent they can manage on a laptop.

You keep throwing around specs as if anyone actually cares. Do you think joe average Best Buy consumer cares? Really? Mac, Windows; all the same. Specs really are just numbers to average consumers. You're being mad at Apple for doing their job as a BUSINESS and marketing their stuff better than anyone else. You can be damn fucking sure that if Razer or HP or anyone could replicate Apple's vertical integration and lunacy level profits that they'd do it in a heartbeat. EVeryone wants money, Apple is just the best at it for now. And thats what makes all you fanboys so upset, is that Apple turned marketing into an artform and that they succeed in marketing to the masses.

Yesssssir. Always an option you can bank on. I did that with an old Dell, turned out amazingly. Got inspiration from the MNCPTech YT video where they PlastiDip'ed a Dell XPS.
I also gutted a 2006 HP Media PC and did the same, with neon green accents. Replaced with newer parts, now I call it the ninja. Looks 10 years old (because it nearly is..) but performs will with a 750 Ti and i7-3770K I had laying around, haha.

The mount for the stock cooler will not work unless its an 1155 or 1150 socket CPU I am assuming its either a first gen i series intel or a Core 2 era one.

    @DTV998 -
First thing I would do is mod the case! Even a simple spray paint, in & out, would refresh it. (flat black, with glossy black accents, for example) Cuz we all know.. "Gray is sooo 1999"

As far as the cooler fitting - maybe, probably not.. It would have to be LGA 1150/1155 to fit properly. However, Intel hasn't changed their stock coolers in a loooooooong time... I highly doubt it's any different. If it is, I think the difference will be negligible.

I was in this situation a few months ago, and I have a pint system, each is one or two points, the one that ends with the most points it the one you should get:
Do you have a good laptop you can use whenever, if yes, +2 nexus 7 if no, +2 dell venue 8
Will you need flash (for things like anime), if so, +1 dell venue 8, if not 0 to both
Do you want to play app style games on it? If yes, +1 nexus 7, if no, 0 to both
Do you want to play easy to run windows games (like minecraft, tf2, and flash games)(often requires separate keyboard and mouse) +1 dell venue 8, if no, 0 to both
Do you like mobile YouTube or full YouTube more (only include if you use YouTube a decent amount) +1 nexus 7 for mobile, +1 dell venue 8 for full
Do you want to do productivity work on it? If yes, +1 dell venue 8, if no, 0 to both
If you only care a little you can lower the numbers, and if you really care about them, you can raise them, those are just my personal estimations.

DTV998 reacted to GoodBytes in Nexus 7 vs Dell Venue 8 Pro
    Hmm difficult decision
In one hand you have Android apps, so that means you can play all sorts of games in your transit.
In the other hand, the Dell is full Windows, so you can install codec packs and play anything you want without a fuzz or worry.

While TECHNICALLY you can run Steam on the Dell Venue Pro 8, the selection of touch enabled games is small (Broken Age, Civ5, and maybe a few others) granted you have GestureWorks (I have not tried it) for on screen touch control. I don't think the Atom has enough power to plat "PC games". Maybe some simple indie games. I would look into that (GPU performance of the Atom).

If you wonder about the digitize pen.. don't make it part of the up side, it's broken garbage on the Dell Venue Pro 8 and 11. It uses Synaptic pen, their first take on it, and it doesn't deliver at all. So consider touch screen only device, and not an upside over the Nexus.

May 20th, Microsoft will present the Surface Mini (well they are announced a press "small" press meeting, so it is believable the rumored Surface mini will be presented), so perhaps you may want to wait. Sure it will be most likely Windows RT, and access limited Windows Store apps, but depending on the price, it might be considering.

I have the Surface Pro 2, I play games when going to work as my trip is over 1h. It is more powerful, by a lot, so I can play games on it just fine, but of course it's much more expensive. I mean, I use my Surface Pro 2 as a laptop as well for school. I find it amazing. It's like a MacBook Air, with the same build quality and attention to details, powerful, and has a better screen, and the keyboard is about standard size keys so it's easy to get used to. But what I wanted to say, is that I love it for school, as I can type my notes as I did with my old laptop with OneNote, and then flip to tablet to write down with the Wacom digitize pen any graphs, diagrams, equations, and so on, and just flip it back into laptop. Quick and easy. No need to fight anymore when it comes to that. So in my case, I got the Surface Pro 2 for this 2 in 1 device. Maybe it is something to consider if you plan on getting a laptop as well in the near future instead of the Dell Venue Pro or Nexus.

This can happen if they are two of the same phone but are different builds. While from outside every Xperia S phone looks the same the firmware installed differs even when they are the same Android version.

Go to settings, about device and check your build no. Search that on google and see if that specific build has an update.

For example Galaxy S3s with i9300xxella build number were not updated to 4.3.
