  1. Great video, although I disagree with the sentiment made by one of the commentators that the Ipad pro isn't suitable for students given the price. Depending on the course, and that of your own budget, the Ipad Pro offers an incredible amount versatility to students. I used to lug around folders with annotated lecture notes (costing me upwards of $100 a semester to print) and heavy textbooks, student manuals and loose-leaf material from practical classes. It is cause for celebration that a device can rid you of this weight without forgoing the freedom and accessible nature that a pen, paper and physical textbook provide. Everything I now need for university, and I mean everything, is on my Ipad and saved in a cloud. I'm organised without even trying. I now annotate my notes with Notability, but the functionality of the Ipad in combination with this well designed app allows me to take my notes further. I can easily copy and paste diagrams, gather different material from the internet and quickly add it in, do voice recordings over my notes or draw up quick sketches in relation to the content I'm learning. One of my favorite things though is having the ability to go back and edit my notes without them becoming disorganized or fragmented - a huge old issue of mine. And expensive whiteboards ? glad I didn't invest in them like others. I now just share my screen to my TV or projector and do my drawings there. Sure some of these feats can be achieved through typing on a laptop, but again the freedom of pen and paper and a well designed UI (in my opinion) allows me to do it with much more efficiency and flow. Anyone who fights procrastination to study would know how much of godsend that is. Now there is no doubt that it is an expensive device. Especially given its computational power and perceived limited functionality when compared to a similarly priced laptop. However, with the money saved from not having to print notes or bind student manuals as well as the fact I can now buy eBooks from Piratebay, the cost becomes less substantial. Goddamn apple tax though... 200 for pen, 500 for keyboard? yeesh
  2. certainly can without the right equipment and understanding of 'high carbon content'. haha
  3. Yeah - the update on that is below. The pictured motherboard tray is the one I'm currently using. Had the idea I was going to do a bit myself, so as to not outsource half the work. But the drill bits just made a mess of everything so I got it laser cut.
  4. Update: It's NOT dead Sorry about lack of updates LTT! Uni required me to through it together to work on an assignment. Should have it completely finished within a few weeks in swotvac! - However, here is a sneak peek. - Things left to complete Fix a few crooked copper pipes - may even change the gpu to backplate run Lighting Sata cable spray paint. Hide any gaps on i/o with foam Thanks for dropping by everyone! Regards
  5. agh sorry. I'll change that anyway! I feel proud
  6. COOL! take your pick HERE
  7. Are you using one of my photos as a background I can get higher res 4 u!
  8. Thanks! It certainly helps with the training. But after lots of use and bending it'll become frail and I'm not able to anneal the copper with the insulation around it They're designed for houses where they won't be touched once routed, as I figure you know! My cables are perfectly fine though. I've bent them every way shape and form but yeah, it's probably a reason it's unique amongst manufacturers and professional modders! HUH! i thought the same thing Having now thought about how it would work.. lol.
  9. rather steep! I wish i was still at high school or in a different course at uni. would make good use of the equipment. I'll DIY something. thanks!!
  10. they're rolling out all fttp, fttn and hth. Though fftp is scarce, they have picked up the ball a bit in terms of rolling it out. They've also updated they're rollout plan earlier this year and i've noticed a few areas have gone 'under development' as scheduled. I'm supposedly meant to expect hth at the end of this year. Not entirely sure what hth is but know it's the lesser of the three. Sure it's better then my current 1-5mb dl & ul. The comment about whirlpool is something you definitely want to check out. Where i've done a lot of my digging. Plenty of articles with comments from what seems to be well informed individuals on the internet too.
  11. Yeah I'd either use the copper and do what I've done with the heatsinks except the entire comb or paint it like the fans. issue is sourcing cable combs. Unless you mean something else by carving the copper?
  12. Good idea, that could look nice! I just don't know of any 4mm combs that go over the cable. At least in Australia where I don't have to pay $$ for postage and wait 3 weeks. Laser cutters and 3D printers could be an option but most cutters have a minimum charge. I'll see what I can do I like it!
  13. Motherboard Mod, Paint & Mesh I think I mentioned I found some copper adhesive? I'm too lazy to check but this stuff is cool! it's actual copper so there is virtually no difference in colour! The heat pipe is a copper pipe and you can see there is no real contrast. It's actually used to keep slugs of pots, so I'd imagin it should handle the heat! I'm probably needing to redo some of the adhesive. Could look cooler with different patterns. But here is what i've got. the white stuff everywhere is acrylic dust, apologies! Finished the 24 pin.. I hate the brown colour and wish I could find something better.. Ideas? Picked up the case from the powder coater. Not exactly happy with the finish. 6/10. Should of gone with a flat black but I wasn't able to do a colour on either side so I went in the middle with a satin. I'll have some more photos of it up when I've cleaned all this acrylic stuff off. Also, pictured is the Mesh I was talking about! looks nice Just used some aluminium fly screen and spray painted it.
  14. So Bought myself a couple good spray paint cans and a clear coat to only find out it doesn't work too well. So much lint despite prep work and the paint generally doesn't spray evenly! So I decided I'd fork out the extra money to get a powder coat done. I was quoted $30 bucks for all of it!!!! that's as much as two of my spray cans! Getting a flat black exterior and interior but interior has a gloss acrylic clear coat to make it pop a little better. My only issue is, I don't like out sourcing jobs. especially prime moding jobs like painting! So forgive me I'll be using the cans to do motherboard heat sinks and some fly screen (will explain later).
